Remember: Leftwing Colludes With Russia to Block Fracking

This was an open secret for years -- but the media didn't want to report on it, because they're leftwing themselves.

Just as it was well known that half the leftwing groups they report on so lovingly are funded by Russia.

Russia doesn't want the US to frack, because that increases the petroleum supply and hurts the oil-dependent Russian economy. So they fund leftwing groups to agitate against US fracking.

No US media would ever admit their buddies, mistresses, and side-pieces are colluding with Russia, though.

The sources include a former secretary-general of NATO, who is quoted by the GOP congressmen as saying:

Russia, as part of their sophisticated information and disinformation operations, engaged actively with so-called nongovernmental organizations—environmental organizations working against shale gas—to maintain dependence on imported Russian gas.

This anti-fracking campaign seizes upon environmental issues and health concerns that could be used to constrain U.S. drilling and fracking exercises, the letter explains.

The left has been colluding with the Soviet Union for seventy years and now has the balls to start up with this shit?

1 it's a good opportunity for lefties to lay down the marker on where they stand on treason and c-c-c-c-c-collusion (which is apparently a crime).

Any conservative commentator doing talking head shows should get a firm stance on what is treason.

because the left has gone over and above for a century.

63 I say again: to zeroth order, all "activist" groups - eco-nuts, feminists, black and Hispanic race activists, homosexual activists - are all leftist fronts.

Evidence? You cannot predict their reaction to an event from their stand on the putative issue in the abstract. You can only predict it when you know which reaction would hurt the United States specifically.

Cases in point:

1. Feminists howling about every little thing here don't give a shit about brutally mistreated women elsewhere.

2. Eco-nuts who get the vapors over American CO2 don't give a shit about Indian or Chinese CO2.

3. Homosexuals who flounce around here about every slight, real or imagined, don't give a shit about homosexuals getting thrown off of roofs in Middle East.

4. Black activists upset about the occasional police shooting (#BlackLivesMatter) don't give a shit about the black-on-black murder rate in the ghetto.

I could go on, but you get the point. If you just present the bare facts of a situation, "activists" don't know which way to jump until they find out more about the dramatis personae.

-Islam over Christianity
-Globalism
-Gender Fluid
-Special Interests over the masses
-Paid Abortion for All
-Single Payer for All but the Chosen
-Free College
-Bad Trade Deals
-$15+ minumum wage
-No More Guns

I'm sure there's more.

It's not that we said "no thanks" to Hillary, we rejected every single one of their pet projects.

Ah, a trick question.

If the foreign national has information on crimes committed by a Republican, you MUST go to the authorities. In fact if you do not, YOU have committed a crime and must be punished.

If the crimes are commited by Democrats, you should do nothing, since Democrats don't commit crimes.

146 We are in a leftist state, in a overwhelmingly leftist city and county, one currently embroiled in a huge controversy over fracking.

It is Colorado, which has huge oil and gas reserves, and the state laws do not permit localities to enact laws that ban extraction by any means. But the localities keep trying.

In our community, the leftists are enraged that drilling and fracking can happen within sight of residential communities. If you have visited Colorado, you know that the majority of the population lives along the high plains of the Front Range, with annual rainfall less than 15 inches, and the only trees are along creeks and rivers, or are watered by power.

This means that out in the suburbs, there are no tree lined streets, no tree lines around lots and fields, and anything that is out there can be seen. Like a fracking tower. One that might be three miles away.

So our local anti-frack fight came down to a recall election, one in which the left seeks to remove a council member, a Republican, who they have portrayed as the face of frack. Never mind that their campaign is so full of lies that the local newspapers and even the Denver post have come out against the recall.

So now what they want to get on a special election ballot is that the local government must only pass laws that "fully consider the health and safety" of all residents.

A neighbor came to our door yesterday to try and get my signature on the petition for this. I said that no, I would never agree to such a thing, that it was clearly another anti-energy push, and that the Russians had for years colluded with her and her fellow-travelers to do exactly this.

180 It's not just the US.

The Russians have always regarded buying Europeans as more important than buying Americans. They're closer, they've been a captive market, and European politicians are (for all our carping about our own) more easily bought.

You can bet that most of the obstruction of fracking in Germany, the UK, etc. was Russian-funded.

American private-sector directional-drilling and fracking development is something so antithetical to the European mindset that I'm sure much of their leadership still doesn't comprehend how it was done.

Seattle has passed a new tax on 'the rich'....which is against state law (localities cannot pass income taxes). But they'll do it and they'll fight it in court and if our useless GOP doesn't get it's crap together, they'll miss a step.

Which is why gun transfers are such a pain and why there's a tax on ammunition ($.05 a round) in Seattle.

But the localities keep trying.

And it always the Left transplants that are so concerned about preserving the natural beauty, which apparently they've just discovered (who knew, right?) at the expense of locals who both respect the land *and* want to enjoys its resources.

Friend in Eagle went through this a few years back when these ecotwits were attempting to enact a "hidden gems" designation over a large part of the county, thus making it off-limits to anything mechanical.

Now that doesn't just mean cars, atv's and snowmobiles, that meant bicycles, powered saws for clear-cutting, emergency vehicles (think: lost hikers, forest fire), and the best one: helicopters. That was the best because the county is home to a high-altitude helicopter training facility that attracts military people from all over the world. But no, random jerks from the coasts move in a decide they don't want any icky motorized funny-business to spoil their occasional hike.

Turning PDT into a irredeemable monster is the only way to herd the BB cats back into the DNC tent. They (the DNC) KNOW that the BB'ers sitting out '16 (or pulling the lever for somebody else) cost them the election.

The DNC will remain a 2nd-class political power as long it's base remains fractured. The current continuous churning of the waters isn't effecting PDTs supporters (they're laughing / fuming at it); the middle has pretty much tuned it out, so the group being effected is the Left... which is anything but united, except for their hatred of Trump.

Commies don't care about homosexuals, they don't care about women, they don't care about Muslims, they don't care about the environment, they don't care about blacks, they don't care about Hispanics, they don't care about anything except power.

That income tax will be rubber stamped by the People's Supreme Court of the Soviet State of Washington. They flip the Senate and game over, man! 264 The Left doesn't actually care about that. Not at all. It's merely a wedge issue, a way to agitate among the fags. It's a mistake not to realize this. See my #63.

It's classic Commie tactics: try to peel off various groups by encouraging their disaffection. Commies don't care about homosexuals, they don't care about women, they don't care about Muslims, they don't care about the environment, they don't care about blacks, they don't care about Hispanics, they don't care about anything except power.

Angela Davis once said to me (in response to my naive point about some issue): "The Party doesn't care about the issue. The issue is solely a vehicle for agitation to build a mass movement."

I've never forgotten those words.
==========

So hard to explain to people. Oddly, a book written by a black communist in the late 30s and published in the early 40s, "Native Son" explains it well in about 1000 words. Of course he advances the point of view that using blacks for the communist revolution is an objective good.

It's a short, quick read, but highly illuminating, especially Ch. 13, which makes clear that the Balkanization of America (with the hyphenated shit) began in 1945, at the instigation of Stalin, who ordered the CPUSA to change tack.

297 Speaking of fracking, here's a story:

The husband of a friend of mine is a left-wing douchebag-supreme, and despite being an ignoramus of the highest order, he bills himself as an "expert" on "energy issues," even though he knows less about science and energy than does a three-toed sloth.

Anyway, a while ago when we were all hanging out together, he mentioned smugly that he was going to travel to some distant conference to give a speech "about fracking."

My reply, in faux-innocence, was, "For -- or against?"

He silent glare he gave me was so classic, I;ll never forget it. Bwahahahaha!

The whole point behind my trolling was that in his universe, there is only one possible opinion about fracking, so that when he said he was going to speak simply "about" fracking, he didn't think it necessary to specify what it was he was going to say about it. So I punctured the bubble of his unselfaware unconscious assumptions by noting that a speech "about" fracking could go either way.

He was NOT appreciative.

All of this went on under the ongoing charade in which I still have never revealed my political leanings to him nor anyone else I know.

So, if you're a green type person you might choose a generator who uses a lot of hydroelectric. Different agenda you might choose one who uses a lot of natural gas. Maybe you love coal.

Not many are choosing nuclear and TMI probably has a huge amount of capacity it can't sell.

It's kind of idiotic actually, which is TMI's beef.

I asked a coworker (retired USMC jet jockey) what he thought may have happened. He said based strictly on the news reports he'd seen and read, his best guess is a catastophic engine failure that cascaded. He thinks most likely what happened is one engine exploded, sending parts into the engine next to it, causing the second engine to also cease functioning (and probably also exploding). He said that scenario would explain the reported spiraling in of the aircraft.

333 I think we all should look as closely at the information as possible, ask hard questions, and know the law about this stuff. Did some people in the Trump organization get a bit too friendly with Russia in their efforts to stop Hillary? Maybe. Did Russia interfere with our election? Absolutely.

Does giving accurate information to one candidate constitute meddling with an election? I say no; no more so than using the UK newspapers to find information that US ones won't print. Information is just information.

If the Russians lied or printed nonsense to topple a candidate, that's meddling. If they printed editorials attacking one candidate or another, or pushed people in their nation to email and write, use social media etc to attack one candidate or support another (like English newspapers did in past US elections), that's meddling.

I think an honest, clear, informed look at what the Trump team did will find some instances of overzealous bad judgment but no illegal or immoral activity with Russians. I'm unconcerned about a deep look into this stuff, because there's nothing there to find. I just think its a waste of resources and hypocritical to focus on what they hope to find with Trump and ignore what they know is true with Clinton.

Every major nation on earth interferes with each others' elections. They want to influence who wins, to get the person that best helps their national self interest to win. England, Japan, Israel, France, Germany, China, Russia, they all do. All the G20 nations monkey with each others' nations. It always happens, and its annoying but inevitable. The USA does it with all their elections and many other nations besides. Obama blatantly did so with France and Israel recently, he announced it to the freaking news.

You think Saudi Arabia pouring money into candidates isn't influence? Lots of money and talks go into big companies about who these nations want to win, and the companies take that into account when donating. Its a huge open secret.

Actually, the arrival of Trump, and of the Left's pearl-clutching reaction to Trump, has spelled the end of my real-world political faux-neutrality performance.

In the past, pre-2016, it was entirely possible to mischaracterize oneself in meatspace as apolitical, or as completely disinterested in politics despite being mildly default liberal. So that if someone brought up politics, one could adeptly change the subject and no one would notice nor care nor hold it against you.

Example:

2003, cocktail party conversation:

"That goddamn Bush! he's a chickenhawk!"

Me: "Speaking of which, did you know that actual chickenhawks almost never eat chickens; instead, they prey on other birds, since chickenhawks are native to North America whereas chickens are an introduced species and not a normal part of their evokutionarily determined diet. The name is a misnomer, really."

"Wow, how do you know so much about birds?"

2017, cocktail party conversation:

"Trumpocalypse! Impeach!!1!! (Starts foaming at mouth, going into convulsions.) We must join the resistance or the world will melt!!!!!"

Me: "Y'know, if a wire is thin enough, its resistance (an electrical property) rises, so it really could melt!"

"Your refusal to join my pearl-clutching virtue-signalling indicates that you are not of The Tribe! Comrades, attack this traitor!"

That doesn't explain what exactly Russia did in 2016. This is supposed to be the focus of Mueller's investigation.

The worst that's been ALLEGED are the hacks of the DNC and Podesta, and a Fake News campaign (of which I've never seen details.) Even if true, this wasn't enough to sway the election. Given the consensus that Hillary was going to win anyway, why would the Russians have bothered?

That's what I was thinking. There's no way Hillary or anyone else gets let off the hook after they have gone after Don Jr. or Ivanka. I think Trump has a thicker skin over insults or threats to himself than he would have for his children, and it's not all that thick to begin with.

Unfortunately, neither of our Arizona senators are very useful. McCain tends to help the left more than his own party and only appears conservative just prior to an election, then swings left again as soon as the idiot voters fall for it one more time. Jeff Flake is nearly an equal quality RINO.

Funny how we have our pick of 'moderate' Republicans (read: left-leaning Republicans, actually) but you can't find a single moderate or remotely none-left Democrat anymore, yet Republicans are constantly called on to be 'more moderate'.

THEY are the extremists. Yet one more facet of their projectionism.

397 I've been asking and asking and asking HOW Russia interfered in our election and NO ONE can tell me! You seem to know.

Like I said above, the same way every major nation does with every other major nation's elections. Donations under the table, pressuring businesses that work in their nation who to support, buying ad time, etc. Look at what Obama did in the Israeli and French elections. This is not some secret, it happens every election. Its in the best interest of, say, Germany, for one candidate to beat another in the USA. They'll use resources to try to affect that even though its not supposed to happen.

What they didn't do is somehow hack voting machines, mind control voters, interfere with voter rolls in Dallas, or any of the other dumb crap the left is inventing.

But it was consensus Netanyahu would win in Israel, and Obama thought it was worth spending money and time to fight against that. Who's likely to win or not really doesn't make much difference, its who is most likely to be someone that you think will do your nation good vs ill.

And in Russia's case, Trump is better for Russia not because of some secret back room deal or a bro crush between Pooty Poot and Trump, but because he's smart about immigration, fighting radical Islam, and world stability. Hillary would have made the world a much more crazy, unsafe place and that hurts Russia.

427 Reading through Reddit comments on this is infuriating, but I can't help myself.

One of the lines of argument that's especially frustrating to me goes like this:
Dirt on Hillary came from Russia.
It doesn't matter if the information is true, using that information represents foreign meddling and that cannot be tolerated.

My problem with this argument is manyfold, but allow me to try to nail down a couple of the better reasons.
1. Do any of these pricks worry about FALSE information on GOP candidates that comes from US sources? No, no they do not.

Example: Joe F*cking Biden didn't pay any price at all for disseminating that "Romney doesn't pay taxes" BS.

So true information regarding Dem candidates from foreign sources = double plus bad.
False information regarding GOP candidates from US sources = go team go!

2. Any time a foreign gov't representative comes out and says something denigrating about a GOP candidate, the left cheers so hard they piss their pants. Isn't that foreign meddling?

431 And since words have meaning, when Christopher Taylor says that the "Russian's interfered in our election", Absolutely."

Interfere per Merriam Webster means to interpose in a way that hinders or impedes.

In what way did the Russians "interfere" in our election?

We have three intelligence agencies, who I am sorry to say, have dubious track records and trustworthiness because all have been politically infiltrated, say that Russia somehow hacked into the DNC email system and stole emails from John Podesta.

Never mind that the recipient of those emails, Julian Assange, has repeatedly said that it wasn't the Russians who gave him the emails, it was a disgruntled DNC Staffer and Bernie Supporter, who was shot in the back in DC and whose crime evidence has been prevented from going public.

The RNC, whose IT staff became aware that someone was trying to hack into their email system, gave their server to the FBI to be looked at forensically. We have never been given details of that investigation other than the hack was unsuccessful.

The DNC, whose own John Podesta admitted to having given his password to his emails to a phishing scammer , which resulted in them being stolen and published, by Wikilieaks, refused to give their server located somewhere in a back room in Idaho, to the FBI for examination.

Meanwhile, we still have zero information or evidence that the Russians successfully hacked, phised, or otherwise inserted malware in any other software system in the entire country. We have been told that a software company that provides voter registration software to a dozen states was half assed hacked , again by someone who left Russian fingerprints on the hack.

We then were told that the NSA and other cyber intelligence agencies in the USA have the ability to hack into software, but leave evidence indicating it was another entity, such as the Russians.

We have several state Secretaries whose software systems were being subjected to test hacks, without their knowledge, by the Federal government. None of which were successful.

So again, I ask, where did the Russians 'Interfere" with out election, causing it to be hindered or impeded?

The parallels between 1962 and now are striking, especially re the useful idiots on the left and their embrace of "radical chic" (as Tom Wolfe so aptly noted) in Cuba and elsewhere. It's only been what, 55 years, since this book came out, illustrating that "Plus ca change, plus ca meme chose" (the more things change...") Highly recommended.

452 378 Did Russia interfere with our election? Absolutely.

OH GOODY!

I've been asking and asking and asking HOW Russia interfered in our election and NO ONE can tell me! You seem to know.

----------

Yeah. I want to know too, Christopher. How did they get me to vote for Trump? You seem to have all the answers.

453 I'm sure I'm willowed again (unfortunately I spend all day reading the entire thread), but in partial defense of PDTJ, in June of 2016(!), was "RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA" a consideration in whether the Trump campaign should take a meeting with a Russian lawyer? The Trump Organization had routine dealings with Russians through the Miss Universe pageant. The email to Trump Jr. was from a media-type who had connections with Miss Universe. Why then would DJTJ suspected a honey-trap in June 2016 (after election, certainly, but after the 2016 nomination?)? I think it's easy to criticize the decision to meet with the Russian attorney in July 2017, but 13 months ago, the connection is not so clear.

454 444 442: I knew about Owen Lattimore, Alger Hiss, and the like. Did not know about Hopkins.
Posted by: Curmudgeon at July 12, 2017 02:36 PM (ujg0T)

The poster Rich made this assertion above, not I. I for one would like to see actual proof that Hopkins was a Soviet agent. I'm more than happy to see the evidence...if any exists. (Example: Was Joseph Davies a Soviet agent because he went to see the Stalinist show trials for entertainment and came away believing every word of what was said, as he took EVERYTHING at face value? Or was he just an idiot, a political appointee made an Ambassador to the Soviet Union because he contributed large sums to the Democratic party cause? I go for the latter.)

455 Funny, for decades the CPUSA was a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Kremlin, specifically tasked with influencing American policy and elections, and nobody in the media had any problems with it.

456 1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.

2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.

3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.

4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.

5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.

6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.

7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.

8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.

9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.

10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.

11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)

12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.

13. Do away with all loyalty oaths.

14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.

15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.

16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.

17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

18. Gain control of all student newspapers.

19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.

20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.

21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.

22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms."

23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art."

24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.

25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."

27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch."

28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."

29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."

31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.

32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.

33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.

34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.

35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.

36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.

37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.

38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat].

39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.

40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.

41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.

42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use ["]united force["] to solve economic, political or social problems.

43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.

44. Internationalize the Panama Canal.

45. Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction [over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction] over nations and individuals alike.

457 Idiots where I live are trying to recall the mayor because he's not sufficiently anti-fracking. His term is up in November, and he's not running for reelection. The election is actually going on now.
