In fact, it has become a major target. The Left, in concert with its allies among atheists, Islamists, and the homosexual lobby, is engaged in a multi-front war to destroy what remains of our nation's Christian bedrock. One of the fronts in this war comes under the innocuous heading "Interfaith Dialog". It sounds so compelling: a mutually beneficial outreach for "differing faith traditions" to find common ground and join forces to mend the fractious divisions between Muslims, Christians, Jews, and for that matter, practically everyone else.Sharia and The Ten Commandments. Not even close. Imam Rauf tries to blame sharia's amputation and stoning on Biblical Law: "Sharia is not about amputations and stoning. These extreme punishments carry over from earlier, biblical law" and "Within the history of Islam, they have rarely occurred. What Islamic law does prescribe are the same do's [sic] and don'ts of the Ten Commandments." Imam Rauf's article is, to say the least, misleading -- especially regarding the Ten Commandments. Sharia is not only incompatible with Western legal system but is the direct opposite of Western values; it has violated all ten of the Ten Commandments. Islam was created 600 years after Christianity not to affirm the Bible, but to discredit it; not to co-exist with "the people of the book" -- Jews and Christians -- but to replace them. It is hard to read Islamic law books without concluding that Islamic values are essentially "a rebellion against the Ten Commandments." The technology responsible for alerting the NYPD to Ortiz's shooting is known as ShotSpotter, whose 16-year-old parent company went public on June 7. In more than 90 cities across the US, including New York, microphones placed strategically around high-crime areas pick up the sounds of gunfire and alert police to the shooting's location via dots on a city map. The technology builds on existing surveillance tools, many of which are aging, grainy-video cameras that don't record sound and produce footage officers review only after a crime has been committed. ShotSpotter also sends alerts to apps on cops' phones. The Faculty Lodge, Canada. The issue: Supply and Demand. “Ultimately the biggest problem that appears after today’s discussion is one of supply,” Sousa said in an interview this week. Finance ministers were told demand is “quite high” for marijuana already in Canada, he said. “So we want to make certain that, when we do proceed, there is sufficient supply to accommodate the activity because what we’re trying to do is curb the illicit use and organized crime that now exists around it.” Trudeau’s framework for legalization, unveiled in April, will rely on Canada’s provinces to set up sale and distribution regimes, while at minimum selling recreational pot by mail beginning some time before July 2018. Key details including taxation remain up in the air. Federal Finance Minister Bill Morneau has said he favors a tax rate that will starve out the black market, one of the government’s key objectives. “That as a conclusion would lead us to say taxation rates have to be low,” Morneau told reporters after the June 19 meeting, where he said they discussed the need for a “coordinated” approach June 26, 1974, Cher divorced Sonny Bono after 10 years of marriage. If there’s ever been a mega-violent, drug-slinging dominatrix, I’ve sure never heard of her. Or what about a murderous dictator? Rebel military commander? Serial killer? Playground bully? Again and again, almost all men. Men perpetrate over 76% of the violent crime in the US. Worldwide that statistic is likely much higher.2 Men are 10 times more likely to commit murder and nine times more likely than women to end up in prison.3 Men commit 99% of the reported rapes and sexual assaults.4 And boys perpetrate 95% of the violent crimes at the juvenile level.5 Former Teacher of The Year takes on the Establishment. The problem of unions is on trial. Good luck in California. Bhavini Bhakta never intended to become an activist, but after being laid off six times in the first eight years of her career as an elementary school teacher in the Pasadena suburbs, she decided to get involved in the education reform movement. She focused first on challenging seniority-based layoffs, which in turn led her into conflict with the California Teachers Association. Now she is a plaintiff in Bain v. CTA, a case which challenges the dues structure of unions as a violation of the First Amendment. The suit seeks to restore voting rights on union matters to agency fee payers, who pay full dues for representational activities but opt out of paying for lobbying and political activities. Trump's White House breaks from tradition. Muslim celebration, no longer celebrated. Donald Trump’s government has not held an iftar dinner for the end of Ramadan, breaking a Muslim tradition held at the White House for more than two centuries. The iftar dinner occurs at sunset at the end of the holy month of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islam lunar calendar and a time of prayer, reflection and fasting. And the problem is? But did Trump really break tradition? Again, what if he did? Justice Neil Gorsuch, So far, so good. "New technology helps police in 90 different cities." That technology isn't new, and we've had it in crime hotspots here in the SF Bay Area for a while now, and frankly, the police aren't thrilled with it. The majority of the shootings to which that system alerts them are of street thugs capping other street thugs. So first off, if the cops arrive quickly, they may be coming into an ongoing gunfight. Yay. Then, once the cops have arrived, they'll often be working to protect and save a downed crim who, if he lives, one day in the future might return the favor by killing one of them. And, when the cops try to figure out who in particular fired the shots captured on audio by the system, of course nobody saw nuttin'. Good quote from the American Thinker piece on Islam and Christianity:
Christians don't come before God saying "look what I've done! Aren't you proud of me?" Christians come before God begging for mercy, because they believe, to a man, that we have sinned and fallen short. And while there may be individuals in history that justified violence on behalf of Christianity, nowhere does Christianity advocate it. Instead, it says we are to love our neighbors as ourselves (Mark 12:31), and forgive others "seventy times seven" (Matthew 18:22). Christianity calls for humility, not self-righteous preening, and the good works Christians do are supposed to be out of gratitude to their Savior, and to honor Him, not as a way to curry favor with God. Exactly. Average-looking, poor guys with "dad bods" need not apply. *** Part of the success of Christianity was the Church forced monogamy on Europe. Suddenly 'average' guys were invested in society as just like the elites they got to reproduce and have children. This created an incredible amount of stability by the standards of the day. By comparison in the Muslim world, the elite men had harems or at least multiple wives. This meant constant conflict - "get rich or die trying". In the modern first world though monogamy is much weaker. A significant percentage of women are chasing the most elite level of men, creating what is essentially polygamy in all but name. This in turn increases the level of conflict as 'average' guys may not be guaranteed to find a mate as they would have 100 years ago. Many of the 'average' women are happy be an alpha male's number 2, 3, etc...and this of course ignores the ultimate alpha male - Uncle Sugar. What percentage of men in this country have committed a murder? What percentage of men have committed a rape? Leave it to liberals to create public programs, welfare, that destroy stable, responsible, 2 parent families, then bitch about how awful men are. A couple of rednecks hit a beaver with their pickup. They get out, thinking it's dead, and one picks it up by the tail to pose for a picture. At the moment, the beaver, who was just stunned, comes to life, freaks out, and bites off the guy's nipple.

Rather than just recycling video of the thing blowing up in A New Hope. [If you are wondering where I am pulling this analogy - in Apollo 13, they built a scale model of the Saturn V rocket then launched it [using SFX, of course] rather than using video of an actual Saturn V taking off. I feel like I'm sometimes living in an insane asylum. Along with all the good news from the Supreme Court today is this. The court ruled today that Arkansas must fill out birth certificates with the name of a second gay partner as either the father or mother if requested. If a gay couple is legally married then both parents are listed as parents of the child despite the fact that one is not the biological parent. The rationale is that due to Obergfell,Arkansas is obligated to provide the exact same marital rights to gays as they do straight couples. We are truly in pretend land now. I realize that married women who have born children from other men outside of the marriage have listed the married partner as the father fraudulently. They could do that because it would be difficult to tell. It's obvious with a gay couple that one of them is not the biological parent. This is just stupid.

I was welding something a while back, it was some curved shank -- scarafire part, I think -- thing, and I had rigged up a trap with clamps and stuff to hold it just like I needed. I was about to start welding, then decided I needed to grind some more. The little grinder wasn't right for some reason, and so I got the big boy, a 7" angle job I've got. Fairly new one in good condition. Well, that caused the trap to fly apart, and one half of the shank fell down. I jumped back to avoid it hitting my feet, but it hit the power cord, cutting it right in two with a nice little arc flash. So fast it didn't even trip a breaker. That's what I did with the one I mentioned above, and what I do when I want to do it right. I've also got so SO (SJ, actually, well the designation is longer that, I'd have to look it up) cord and can make a new one. However, nothing beats the neat look of a molded plug, which I can't do. However, using a high quality plug with proper pressure connectors can actually be better than some of the factory molded ones. Some of those can run pretty warm brand new. Humanity works best when men are men, women are women, and people generally accept that they are who they are, and live with a realistic self-appraisal.
Trying to make men into women doesn't work, nor does trying to make women manly. We evolved to be what we are because it's what works. Thinking we're smarter than a successful evolutionary strategy that has seen our species and its progenitors safely across millenia is the height of hubris. So many on the left support "evolution" for the only reason that it allows them to deny a creator (despite the fact that evolution only describes change and not creation). 'Tis true, that the Left deny that society can change evolutionarily based on good aspects benefiting while negative aspects harming.
