Hyperpoliticized, Captured-By-Progressives Garbage Institution the FBI Claims James Hodgkinson Had No Particular Target In Mind, Didn't "Surveil" the Minor, Ugly Park When He Repeatedly Scouted It and Took Pictures of It

I don't think I'll ever trust the FBI again, and would be very skeptical of any case they made, were I sitting on a federal jury.

Another institution successfully destroyed by Obama.

You have to read the piece and compare what we know as facts with the FBI's bizarre, acid-dosed "conclusions."

Just another arm of the DNC, this one carrying weapons and subpeonas.

Update: Maybe the FBI felt the need to protect the SPLC, whose FaceBook account James Hodgkinson "liked."

James T. Hodgkinson, the Bernie Sanders supporter who targeted Republicans at a congressional baseball game practice and gravely wounded Congressman Steve Scalise (R-La.), gave moral support to the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), the group whose "hate map" inspired a terrorist attack in 2012. The SPLC had repeatedly attacked Scalise, along with former presidential candidate Ben Carson and women's right activist Ayaan Hirsi Ali.

"Over the decades, the SPLC has refined a method of defaming its political opponents that is extremely effective when combined with the massive war chest it can rely upon," explained Lt. Gen. (Ret.) William Boykin, executive vice president at the Family Research Council (FRC) in a letter to Senators on Tuesday.

"The SPLC targets people by using the 'hate' or 'extremist' label against them seeking to destroy them," Boykin explained. "Few people or organizations have the resources to fight back, so the SPLC typically has a clear target."

...

Laird Wilcox, one of the foremost experts on American political extremism, said the SPLC has "specialized a highly developed and ritualized form of defamation ... a way of harming and isolating people by denying their humanity and trying to convert them into something that deserves to be hated and eliminated."

58 FBI has sucked for years.

"You asked for a miracle, I give you the FBI."

e.g., after the first World Trade bombing in 1993, they had the remains of the truck that was the truck bomb but not much of it left. With a fine disregard for the rules, a young NYPD spirited away the crankcase from the Feds. You see as a Yute he had worked in his uncle's Brooklyn auto shop and knew there was an extra VIN number inside, which led to the NYPD hanging around a Jersey City rental shop until one of the perps showed up to get his deposit back.

The FBI torched its reputation to the ground and then pissed on the ashes ages ago.

How about that nearly every single bit of testimony on hair analysis for decades was false?

Or, you know, how those evil Republicans in charge of the DoJ in 2014 stopped the investigations into the fraud at the FBI labs because, oops, too many cases were tainted?

Then there's this which was released in 2014 discussing problems that surfaced in 1997.

Yeah, you tell me the FBI says x or y or that the FBI labs, which were considered the platinum standard, said findings were such and such and I will assume it's a lie.

This isn't a problem with the leadership of the FBI. This is a systemic problem with the agents as well.

130 Ignoramus, well said. Those two known, massively important cases need to be investigated/prosecuted if there is even a small chance that the rule of law can be partially restored.

I'd just modify the first item to encompass the entire scandal/crime set: Hillary and Co.'s massive systematic violations of the Espionage and Public Record Acts, as well as the (probably criminal) malfeasance of Comey and Lynch and others in crippling the investigation from the outset (bizarre use of immunity deals, permission to destroy evidence, etc.).

Oh - and I think this should be a thing: let's not have "independent" or "special" investigations. Don't we have a DOJ for a reason? Aren't the people there already well (probably over-) paid to do precisely this kind of thing? Can't a team be assembled within DOJ by Sessions to do this?

If not - then we might be so far gone that there's no point even trying to sort it out. Just turn to seizing advantage amidst the Third World wreckage, and hope our mob can be more successful than their mob (ours is much better armed, at least).

Laird Wilcox, one of the foremost experts on American political extremism, said the SPLC has "specialized a highly developed and ritualized form of defamation ... a way of harming and isolating people by denying their humanity and trying to convert them into something that deserves to be hated and eliminated."

Or tmi3rd's quotes about a lawyer's guild supporting Ayers the mad bomber.

I think this is all just a surface symptom of a deeper problem: large numbers of people are so gullible and historically ignorant that they fall for the superficially appealing bullshit propaganda of the left. We need to try to figure out how to immunize people against this, as young as possible.

You eliminate that, all the headaches, like agonizing that $23 million can tilt the election to Ossoff would go away. If people aren't stupid. $23 million will not convince them that 2+2=5.

Repost from last August on point:
Here's a post mortem. Comey and the FBI acted on a narrow investigation order. It was Hillary and her e-mails only. This was purposeful and hamstrung the investigation from the start.
e.g., The FBI did not investigate the "air gap" of how secure content on the government system got moved to Hillary's home brew. This almost certainly had to involve some combination of Huma, Cheryl or Jake. With none of them made a target -- nor their actions tied to Hillary -- much of the case was lost. No intent, no conspiracy. No leverage on Hillary's minions. Importantly, I thought this could be proven without any minion flipping, just with time logs of who accessed what and when. This should have been a relatively easy case to make. Had it been, there's no way that Comey couldn't find requisite intent no matter how he read the applicable statutes.
Nor did the FBI investigate Clinton Cash Corruption. I thought they would, based on leaks to Fox News'' Catherine Herridge. She got played. So did I. Related to this, the FBI ignored that "Hillary's lawyers permanently put 30,000 e-mails beyond forensic recovery." This is the true Holy Shit Headline.

I've stopped reading WaPo but it was on this matter for years. I don't know how much bigger than WaPo it can get in the US.

This is a hot button issue for me because I used to do an absolute shit ton of work on TRIGGER WARNING TRIGGER WARNING Daubert and Frye matters and thus I had to know both an Imperial and a metrcic fuck ton about scientific acceptance and blah blah blah blah oh praise you Lord I don't do that now.

I'm not kidding that the FBI labs were considered platinum standard. If a test was done in a manner consistent with the FBI labs, bam, admissible bitches.

Now it turns out that nearly all of that was lies. Because, here's the thing, if it's being falsified for pattern recognition matters, why should I assume it's not being falsified in other areas? Falsus in uno and all that.

Not to mention that my stuff was stupid civil stuff. The FBI was providing made up testimony in death penalty cases. Throw in the state lab scandals (see re: Massachusetts drug lab) and no one should believe what crime labs say.

Hell, the Duke kids? If they hadn't had the money to hire damn good lawyers, and if one of the lawyers hadn't gone to Amazon to buy a book about DNA, then the state lab tech was all set to testify that yup yup it was totes those kids who raped Crystal Magnum.

174 Oh - and I think this should be a thing: let's not have "independent" or
"special" investigations. Don't we have a DOJ for a reason? Aren't the
people there already well (probably over-) paid to do precisely this
kind of thing? Can't a team be assembled within DOJ by Sessions to do
this?

They aren't overpaid, but the rest is very true. There is no reason DoJ can't prosecute the rest of it. However, the FBI has to do the investigative work and hand over the evidence to DoJ prosecutors.

The FBI has been destroyed by Comey.

177 And who owns, operates, and funds the $PLC?
_______________________

It was founded and is run by a crooked trial lawyer named Morris Dees. He raises a lot of the money through direct-mail solicitations. He also pays himself and his executives generously. His 2010 compensation package was $345,000.

SPLC flunked an audit by the BBB, which found that SPLC spends arount 90% of its income on fund-raising and administrative costs (such as executive salaries and perks). It also has a "poor" rating from Charity Navigator.

IOW, its a scam, hate-peddling organization, and it exists mainly to provide a nice living for Morris Dees and his friends.

But. This *is* reaching the point that it's amazing that not even a single leaker would start providing some inside info. The FBI is beclowning itself. There have been one or two *former* senior FBI types publicly fulminating about what appears to be going on. So that's something. But.

But when the alleged perp is from the left (or a jihadist, go figure), no matter how obvious the motives, emotional state, associations and ideology, all we get is "gosh gee, we may never now why this happened".

Almost as if these "investigative" agencies and the media have some sort of per-conceived bias that drives their ability to draw conclusions and whatnot.

Truly. Amazing.

232 I'm not kidding that the FBI labs were considered platinum standard. If a test was done in a manner consistent with the FBI labs, bam, admissible bitches.

...

Plus we have recently learned that almost no one can reproduce the results of peer reviewed scientific papers. Can't even reproduce THEIR OWN RESULTS.

I remember my dad telling a story about his PhD research in biochemistry in Madison back in the day. (His lab was across the street from the one that got bombed). They were having terrible issues with their results, couldn't even get really simple, known exercises to turn out right.

Eventually they discovered that the woman tasked with cleaning the glass was using a powered soap, and had a fan blowing on her as she worked, such that dry soap flakes were being blown onto and into the beakers that she had already rinsed and set aside to dry.

That had a big enough effect to more or less shut down their operation until they discovered the source. But there are a million little things like that going on all the time, plus the human element of a whole lot of incompetent liars working in places like the FBI and wielding the power of the sword.

Even if we could get back to provable methodologies for forensics, how do we ever trust an institution to be reliable at performing those tests in the future?

It was used to bribe key D super-delegates so that they'd announce for Hillary before the primaries even started. This knocked out any legitimate contenders, because they couldn't raise money from Serious Donors with Hillary so far ahead when the race hadn't even started. Bernie remarkably emerged because he funded himself with small donations with his Children's Crusade. Just as with anything else - pay the least you can, and *still* get the people you need. Using that objective, and rational, and market-sensical standard, I'd bet a whole lot of people within WMAL's radio market could be paid a whole lot less and the US taxpayer would get the personnel it needs.

And this even ignores the perverse dynamic that gets you less and less properly motivated people, the better the compensation becomes (in public "service" jobs). Saw this, lived this, personally, so it's not rumor or theory.

271 Plus we have recently learned that almost no one can reproduce the results of peer reviewed scientific papers. Can't even reproduce THEIR OWN RESULTS.

Depends critically on the field. Physics and chemistry results can generally be reproduced (qualitatively; sometimes authors cheer up yields), and if they can't, the papers are often retracted.

Biology, OTOH, is a nightmare, especially molecular biology:

"In 2012, Amgen researchers made headlines when they declared that they had been unable to reproduce the findings in 47 of 53 'landmark' cancer papers."

http://tinyurl.com/joz35y5

Anyone reading that literature can see the problems with poorly designed experiments, especially lack of proper positive and negative controls.

Check out http://retractionwatch.com/ Most of the retracted or otherwise dubious papers are in the biomedical arena.

That's amazing that they finally tracked down what it was.

I don't know the answer to that and it's something about which I worry. It's turning out that so many studies aren't replicable, and I'm talking hard sciences, the soft "sciences" are an utter loss, that it's nearly impossible to give credence to any study. That's without the matter of falsification.

It's been revealed in the depositions for the cases against Monsanto on the Roundup cancer claims that the researcher who made the claim ignored his own data and results because he didn't like the results.

This is why reliance on credentialism and expertise is being eroded. Why should I believe what my doctor says when the studies on which she relies are false, intentionally or not? Hell, take nutrition. It's becoming more and more clear that this decades long eat carbs not fat push has been a brutal failure. Why the hell should I believe what people are saying now?

Yes, they do mean black.

As lawyers who have quit the place in disgust have explained, SPLC exists "to make money off black pain and white guilt."

It is run by an old Alabama white guy, Morris Dees. He is a trial lawyer, but spent years working as a marketing agent in the publishing industry. He is supposed to something of a wizard when it comes to direct-mail solicitations. He uses his mailings to gin up racial outrage and generate cash.

The people the SPLC supposedly helps get next to nothing, but all the SPLC executives live large.

As I mentioned in a comment above, the BBB audited SPLC and it failed the audit, because it spends 90% of its income on fund-raising and administrative costs. Also, Charity Navigator rates SPLC as a "poor" choice for a charitable contribution.

Anybody who donates money to SPLC is basically just funding Morris Dees' and his buddies' comfy lifestyles.

321 "289 And so ... once again ... Republicans stand around wondering why in the Hell the Good Guys to whom so much money and power were given suddenly started doing Bad Things.

But it won't stop 'em from authorizing more MRAPs to various LE agencies. Won't stop 'em from paying for another Data Center to store more and more surveillance. Because the next bunch of Good Guys will get it right.

Here's a fucking hint ... don't want to live in a Police State ? Then stop giving Police all the tools of State. There are no Good Guys."

Who was it who said of the Patriot Act, "Don't give John Ashcroft any power you wouldn't want Janet Reno to have"? Smart dude. Too bad nobody listened.

322 "I don't think I'll ever trust the FBI again, and would be very skeptical
of any case they made, were I sitting on a federal jury."

I am right there with you. It is just as corrupt and politicized as the democrat party. Drain the swamp Mr. Trump!
