Is This Something?

Someone has made a short film goofing on nutjob/Hentai enthusiast Kurt Eichenwald.

The ending is funny, and brief, and should be watched just because it's only 41 seconds long:

The stuff before that goes through Kurt Eichenwald's sordid humiliation at the hands of Tucker Carlson, and "Seizure"Gate. And then the B-Chiku Japanese porn stuff.

Incidentally, that clip asks why Kurt Eichenwald just doesn't admit he's a "weeaboo" instead of offering bizarre claims about how he came to have 212 explicit manga cartoon pictures open in a tab. A "weeaboo" is a term for a non-Japanese person obsessed with Japanese culture.

-------------------------------

That's fine but just because you don't get Japanese art doesn't mean that people who actually understand art don't get Japanese art. People who understand international art do, in fact, get it. There are two types of art snobs. Those who are snobby about getting art and those who virtue signal that they don't get art. /s

17 Also... "weeaboo?"
Comes from the online comic Perry Bible Fellowship, which has very very strange humor and dips into... I dunno, avant-garde-ness? Anyway, the setup is a bunch of suits in a board room saying that they are going to go bankrupt if they spend any more time/money on "weeaboo".

"Did somebody say 'weeaboo'?" - bizarre spanking ritual breaks out.

Became a term for japan cultists probably because any mention of japan produces a vomiting forth of japan blather without end. Or something. Plus, it sounds good.

87 I drift in and out of liking Manga, Anime and Hentai.

The Golden Age of Jap cartoon porn was 1988ish to around 2004. Even Queen's Blade doesn't do much for me and that might be the last series to perk my interest. The traditional hand drawn stuff was pretty darn good. Today most of the good japanese-style porn is 3d Steam Film Maker stuff on pornhub and the like.

I do still like the classic, non-porn stuff. In fact, there's a Miyazaki film festival going on via Fathom films. I also enjoyed Azamanga Diaoh quite a bit, usually watch that series once a year. Sweet and charming and not porn-y at all.

91 "I am reading a piece in the LA Times where they are claiming that if single payer is enacted in California it will save the people of California almost $40 Billion a year. "

CA single payer is either (1) a plan to use funky accounting to forestall a CA bankruptcy by a couple of years, or (2) a plan to get in the fast lane to beat IL in the race for federal dollars.

I haven't bothered to look but it's #1 or #2.

I know a lot of Doctors here in Central Calif.... having done medical IT work for years.

Most of the 'Native' Doctors, those actually born here... will close their doors... because the only way to 'save' money on Healthcare, is to pay them less... forcing them to see so many patients a day that they cannot do an adequate job of diagnosing problems.

BOTH of the major practices in my small Central Calif town... have gone to Concierge service... where you pay extra for what used to be called having a Family Doctor.... ie access to one Doc, and shorter waits in the waiting room.

So even though my Mom (88 years old) has Medicare and GREAT supplemental insurance, we write a check to the Practice every year... so when she needs a Doc she is not waiting for hours in the waiting room.

Take the population of California, multiply by $10,000 and that would be the estimated yearly cost. So approximately $390,000,000.

Minus the states percentage of the 93,000,000 daily gun violence deaths. There's savings to be had there.

_____

I have insurance but with a crazy high deductible. Which is fine, it's what I want, to me insurance is for the bug stuff not the small stuff. So I have a doctor that charges $120/mo flat fee with unlimited visits. And that includes everything done in her office like x-rays. Anything else like blood work or MRIs or whatever is paid separately. But for $1440 a year, my entire family gets routine care for things like the flu, sprained ankles, cuts that need stitches, etc. No deductibles, no insurance forms to fill out, no co-pays, no nothing. Show up, see the doctor, go home. And you actually see the *DOCTOR* not a nurse or PA or whatever the wannabe doctor titles are these days. I see an actual MD that went to medical school.

If everyone went to this type of model, we'd save hundreds of billions of dollars in health care costs nationwide.

Couple of friends of mine have recommended that show to me recently, sounds fun o_O and a lot better than most of the anime offerings out of Japan in recent years.

Everyone wants to go darker and edgier with everything these days; I mean, I get it, war and death are horrible, but at a certain point television, both East and West, went from portraying violence towards telling a story, and changed to crafting a story towards portraying as much blood and viscera as their minds could conceive of.

More lighthearted fare is a welcome break from the madness of today's general entertainment offerings.

I have this theory that we look at Russia from a Euro/US perspective and that is the wrong way to look at it.

I think that they see things with CHINA as their main competitor. China has a growing population, an imbalance of men, and a long, hard to defend border with Russia.

Russia of course has a shrinking population, and an imbalance of women.

People looked at the invasion of Georgia and thought it was about NATO and East-West relationships. I say know - they did it in the middle of the Beijing Olympics, to 1)upstage China, and 2) demonstrate they had power projection mojo.

250 >>>Nah,sadly most of my stuff was decidely poorly kept and long gone.I only have a few comics left these days

There is either a box somewhere in my house with a bunch of old comics or I gave it away to needy kids. Can't remember. I do remember the last time I found it I laid down and read all the comics again, so it was a complete time suck.

251 Broseidon, closest I can come to IDing the show is that old series about Snow Fairies but still not quite right. So yeah completely generic.

Some assembly required.

Perhaps we should organize some charter flights to help that along.

Maybe they more interested in their careers or saving the planet, or because they have odd phobias, like thinking that having babies causes dementia in old age. For me, white women are infinitely prettier, yet I know several who have decided never to have kids for reasons like that.

.
.
.The tanks in that cartoon are extremely accurate. Very very few errors that I have seen in the tanks themselves. They do take some liberties with the abilities of those tanks and Assault Guns in the cartoon though.

Contrary to what they show a Panzer IV could not burn rubber.

276 A "weeaboo" is a term for a non-Japanese person obsessed with Japanese culture.

************

Years ago in Kyoto, there was this American guy who walked around in a happi coat, wearing a surgical mask and perched on wooden Japanese sandals called "geta".

NoJapanese then wore happi coats or geta (except on rare ceremonial "dress up" occasions).

We (Westerners and our Japanese friends) all thought he was a complete douche.

But "weeaboo" works as well.
