46 Regulating caffeine in drinks.

Emergency room visits linked to energy drinks climbed from 1,494 to 20,738 between 2005 and 2011.

Do you realize how small that number really is....When compared to all the other reasons to visit the emergency room.
I remember back in the 80's there was a soft drink that had high caffeine in it, and it was condemned by some and wanted it banned. (Jolt?)

As a counterpoint to that, consider why the US has the highest corporate tax rate in the world, and doesn't change it:

Because politicians know that that will draw the big corporations to their doorstep to buy favorable treatment in other areas.

Regulation is a scam. Anything sold as punitive is actually a shell game designed to benefit the powerful people who push the system.

That's one thing the Left doesn't get-- all their class warfare just builds a more powerful and controlling system that will be corrupted to serve the same people. And that's one reason the major corporations push ever leftward.

100 Why don't they just deduct the price of Melania's jacket from PDT's presidential paycheck.
Oh wait....
Posted by: Village Idiot's Apprentice

The press conference where Sean Spicer was announcing where the Trump paycheck was being donated to CBS (CBSN - CBS streaming) cut coverage right away. Couldn't let the viewers get the wrong impression that Trump was doing something good.

They resumed coverage after that was taken care of.

I think I read later the money is going to National Parks, or something.

102 Good morning horde. 50 years ago today, on 27th May 1957, Buddy Holly and the Crickets released their first record, 'That'll Be The Day.' A UK No.1 and US No.3 hit.

The song had its genesis in a trip to the movies by Holly in June 1956. The John Wayne film 'The Searchers' was playing. Wayne's frequently-used catchphrase, "that'll be the day" was the inspiration behind the song. It was also the first song to be recorded by The Quarrymen, the skiffle group that subsequently became The Beatles.

104 If the goober'mint would get out of the health care business, there would be no need for the goober'mint to be in the business of deciding what is healthy or not.

Sounds mean and cruel but this urge to micro regulate only gives the goober'mint more power which will never be given up.

Enough of this "there ought to be a law" to support my pet cause because no there should not be.

108 86 Melania Trumps first outing in the Sicilian sunshine was in a colorful floral applique jacket by Dolce & Gabbana that sells for $51,000, or several thousand dollars below the median US income in 2015.
______________________

Apparently there was a lot of sniping at Melania on Twatter for wearing that outfit.

The woman is married to a billionaire, and she is a beautiful former model. What do people expect her to wear -- Salvation Army cast-offs?

I don't remember these same people squawking when Hillary wore that hideous $12,500 designer jacket that looked like an ugly housecoat. And each of those ugly pantsuits that she squeezes her giant ripply thighs into cost thousands of dollars a piece. And Hillary also wears lots of expensive jewelry, which the MSM never, ever points out. But how many close-up photos have we seen of Melania's big diamond engagement ring?

As usual, it's fine when the lefties do something, but it's an outrageous sin against all that is good and holy if somebody who is not a lefty does the same thing.

Yeah, saw that. WP has a sidebar story headlined something like "Unraveling the Kushner-Russia web". The "web" includes Kushner attending that same social function at the Watergate that Kislyac went to (WP states Kushner may not have actually spoken to the ambassador there, though) , Kushner doing business with the Russian bank located in Trump Tower, a Russian investor in one of Kushner's companies, and (horrors!) Ivanka inviting a Russian friend to the inauguration. Good thing Kushner wasn't seen at the Russian Ballet.
Does anyone fall for this crap?

116 "I wake up every day, drink my morning coffee and say, `Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah,"' he said, according to Rigzone. "I drink red wine. I smoke cigarettes. I golf. I cut my own grass. I iron my own clothes. And I'm not willing to give all that up to be president,"

Boehner thinks there is some massive "Draft Boehner!"-Movement afoot in the country? Wow.

"Everything else he's done (besides foreign policy) has been a complete disaster," the Ohio Republican said, according to the publication. "He's still learning how to be president."

And Boehner's still learning how to be a Speaker. And he's retired.
