Gotta love the NeverTrumpers and their keen perception as to which people in DC have integrity.

Incidentally, that post questions whether Egg McMuffin would have thought to record that given that Hillary campaign manager Robbie Mook didn't start making Russia an issue until two weeks later.

Um, given what I've seen of Egg McMuffin -- how do we know he didn't go to Hillary's campaign with the tape to start the whole ball rolling?

They don't have to. People as a whole just have to stop caring. Harvard (Harvard!!!) just put out a study showing that Trump has had ridiculously skewed negative coverage against him so far, much more than Clinton or Bush II received in their first months in office (and of course, MUCH worse than SCoaMF). Even Fox News is merely neutral in its Trump coverage. Everyone else is well over 90% negative.

Now, that kind of relentlessness is tiresome. Some people will stick with it, but must will literally and metaphorically change the channel. Just finished reading a biography of Musk by Ashlee Vance. Pretty well-done and balanced; he's certainly an interesting and iconic (Jekyll-Hyde-like) individual with a prodigious (likely eidetic) memory.

I had a very negative opinion of him before, but that has softened. You have to hand it to the man, he gets results (always very late and over budget) even with the taxpayer subsidies. His employees (whom he pushes to unreasonable lengths, but no more than himself), generally, both love and hate him.

The bit about a president having the power to direct the FBI chief is one of those classic cases: technically clearly correct, but in practice (reasonably) superseded by an historical consensus that maintaining maximum FBI independence - at least in criminal matters, and esp. anything dealing with a president's own direct interests - is in the country's best interest.

And even in this context - pursuit of a dismissed (for other reasons) and now thereby disgraced figure presumably for technical violations of foreign agent registration rules - if Trump said what is reported it seems quite reasonable. If it was a counter-intelligence probe, that changes the picture, but I don't think that was in play. Nothing Flynn is reported to have done/said crossed any of those lines.

However, that's not the scene I was thinking of. That "Raiders of the Lost Ark" propellor scene was a complete ripoff of the exact same concept from a movie many years earlier. Could have been a Charles Bronson film from the '70s, but in my memory it was actually an earlier action film from the early-mid '60s. Maybe a Bond movie, or some similar spy/thriller drive-in fare.

Let's note that President Obama and would-be President Hillary Clinton would also have been in a world of legal hurt if such a strict reading of the Clause were to have been applied to them.

As for Dershowitz, I really wish he had faded into early and deserved obscurity after the stint he had on the O.J. Simpson murder trial defense team. Even if I occasionally agree with the guy these days, he's still a shitweasel.

Yeah, he's a workaholic and he just naturally assumes that everyone else should be, too. Yet it's not unusual for a business owner to work at least as hard as his employees, Marxist propaganda notwithstanding.

I don't think I'd have the energy or stamina to work for him, though.

Still, for a young engineer to have SpaceX on his resume should make any prospective employer sit up and take notice.
