The Morning Report 5/19/17

PDTwc.jpg

Good morning, kids. What a friggin' rollercoaster of a week. I want to go out on a limb and end it on a cautiously optimistic note. If you pull back from the media shitstorm of deception and outright bald-faced lies, it seems that a significant number of Americans are not falling for it. Even the leaders on the left, from the relatively sane like Feinstein to the batshit crazy like Waters have publicly stated that there is zero evidence of Russian/Trump collusion, Flynn guilt and whatever else the President is being smeared with: NB there are no actual, specific charges, merely "insinuendos" as Don Logan malaproped. Two anecdotal items in today's lineup hint at this: the record-breaking haul PDT's fundraising effort took in and the story about the Democrats telling people to cool it with the impeachment talk. Really? Could it be your internal polling shows that going forward with this insanity will wipe you out politically in '18 and '20? Whatever the Dems and their Media Overlords do or say, Rush had the best strategery for the President IMHO:

I think now, folks, there is a golden opportunity. I don't know how big an opportunity, but it's an opportunity. It's an opening. Since they've announced this stupid special counsel investigation, just head full speed down the road of the domestic agenda. Let's get going on repealing Obamacare. And use the force of Trump's personality and his victory to get Republicans in Congress signed up and doing this. Ditto on tax reform. The one thing - the one thing that's gonna provide Trump some insurance here is actually making America great again, is actually improving the circumstances. It's gonna be hard, because the Republicans don't want to do it!

And that has always been the caveat. From Jeff Sessions recusal to Rosenstein's appointing of a special counsel (NOT prosecutor, it should be noted) to the hemming, hawing and silence from the GOP on this sham of a mockery of two jokes of a sham, that party's acquiescence to the narrative (including cheering on Joe Lieberman to head the FBI [F**k that!]) is the greatest threat to the President's agenda and his political survival. Always was and always will be. It is up to Donald Trump and no one else to use the skills and savvy he has that got him elected to sidestep the Establishment and get the agenda rammed home. Starting now.

Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.

3 So the democrats have cooled on impeachment per the New York Slimes?
That tells me one thing - they've focuc grouped or polled the hell out of the question and discovered that it would cost them seats in the house and senate. Nobody gives a flying fuck that Comey got fired.

Phony bullshit stories ginned up by the glowing yellow journalists don't cut it with people hoping for an economy to take off.

Addendum: BB has polling numbers that show no loss of support from republicans.

I just saw something about that on NPR's website while clicking through to see how they're unbiasedly framing things these days. They said:

"Other Republicans have also faced heat from constituents, but Chaffetz's prominent role and frequent media appearances have made him a lightning rod for critics who say he has not pursued oversight of the Trump administration with the same fervor he did President Barack Obama's."

Right before they told me:

"As Trump Built His Real Estate Empire, Tax Breaks Played A Pivotal Role"

"It's too soon to determine whether obstruction of justice laws may have been broken in President Trump's conversations with James Comey. And a D.C. defense lawyer says the key issue is Trump's intent."

"Unproved Claims Re-Emerge Around DNC Staffer's Death: Here's What You Should Know"

"Public To EPA On Cutting Regulations: 'No!'" (Subtle, but clever. The entire f*cking public hates the president.)

and my favorite:

"The morning after former FBI Director Robert Mueller was named special counsel overseeing the investigation into Trump team ties to Russia, the president is upping the grievance politics."

Wife and friends are retired teachers. Some of the problems is the ever expanding middle management of schools.
What I find funny in listening to them talk is, the ones that are all union, union, union all learnin' woes will be solved by more money to the teachers, are the ones dead set against anyway to measure the abilities of the better paid teacher.
I tell them of the yearly goals and objectives that I had to put onto paper and the quarterly review with my manager to keep me on track all for a hopeful 1.5 percent raise...They look at me like I grew a third eye.

42 I wish that Trump would take one page from the TFG strategy on appointees -- Make 'em all hard line partisans.

Recall that TFG did appoint a RINO to one minor cabinet post (Commerce Secretary), Judd Gregg, though Gregg withdrew his name after he figured out how far over TFG expected him to bend. There was also a subplot there, as he would have had to resign his Senate seat and the Dem gubner was gonna appoint a Dem in his place.

Trump is still way behind on his political appointments in key roles, though his cabinet is now fully formed. Maybe there aren't 4000 people in the entire city of DC that are copacetic with the Trump agenda.

48 I think there's a reason why the Dems are squelching the impeachment talk, and I don't remember where I heard it (probably from another 'ron), but they've probably become aware of the Samson Option.

If it looked like Trump was going to be impeached (thus shredding any semblance of governmental legitimacy we had left), there is one thing he could do to get back at the deep state.

Pull out the Presidential pen, and sign an EO making declassifying *everything*.

The deep state would not survive the fallout once groups like 4chan and Wikileaks started going through their papers.

As long as they can't spread their idiocy here, my feeling is, they made their own bed, they can lie in it.

Besides, what can Trump do as long as Maduro is there? The article mentions monetary aid (for Columbia). If he sends any money or food to Venezuela, Maduro will just confiscate it himself.

And if we try to oust Maduro, I suspect our nation building efforts will be about as successful as they were in Iraq, Egypt, Libya, etc.

54 It is up to Donald Trump and no one else to use the skills and savvy he has that got him elected to sidestep the Establishment and get the agenda rammed home.

It wasn't skills and savvy that got Trump elected. It was his campaign positions that did it. Nothing else. Without Trump taking the positions he did he would have nothing.

Those positions were:

Deport illegals (ending the un-Constitutional and illegal DREAMer bullshit being one small part of a larger effort to restore sovereign rule)
Repeal Barkycare (not the bullshit that Trump tried to help the Vichy GOP pass, but actual repeal)
Trash any remnants of global warming bullshit non-treaty treaties that Barky had committed us to.
Renegotiate the crap deals that put us out as a doormat to the world - keeping nothing but American interests in mind for these renegotiations.
And put Shrillary in jail.

These promises were what got Trump elected. He has done a little bit to try and carry out some of these. He has completely reneged on others, trying to trade the goodwill of his supporters for some sort of friendship from the Vichy GOP turds (LOL at that fool's errand). The continuation of the Russia bullshit, a special counsel and continual dem calls for his impeachment are what Trump got in return for spending the goodwill of his supporters. Yep ... Big surprise, there ...

55 Couple of things about Trump -- anecdotal, but hey, why not.

My wife has always been cool to Trump (she hated Hillary, but could not bring herself to vote for Trump). She told me last night that the media insanity was actually putting her in a position where she felt more and more sympathetic to Trump.

My co-workers are fairly left-wing anti-Trump types. This week, even they were saying that they were tuning out the media because their saturation coverage of BS was so overwhelming. They laughed at the "two-scoops" CNN coverage, and are settling down into a place where they just ignore the daily news.

These are people who vote Democrat -- just saying.

It does such things as strip the ability of the president to get around immigration enforcement, beefs up ICE's detention and deportation powers, deputizes states to enforce immigration laws, bolsters expedited deportations, expands requirements to deport criminal aliens, defunds sanctuary cities, and imposes measures to better prevent and address visa overstays.

I see NOTHING in there about punishing people who hire illegals. Until you have that nothing will work. If you put out a plate full of sugar in your kitchen every night you will get ants and roaches. Lets get rid of the sugar and the rest will take care of itself.

Six schools with not a single student achieving 'proficient' scores in either math or English. N.O.T. O.N.E.

Now, proficient is the top ranking in the scoring system, but still...

There was a recent bruhaha on the local news about some school districts being able to hire teachers without teaching certificates, but with relevant background experience in the subjects to be taught. As you might expect, the teachers union started screaming bloody murder, and predicting the end of the world for those poor students afflicted with people who actually know what the fuck they are teaching, subject wise.

Can't be having that. Next thing you know, that'll become expected.

Impeachment and removal from office is the icing on the cake. Myriad eternal investigations, allegations, accusations serve to derail the agenda.

THAT is their goal. They cannot win electorally. They can only stop the agenda via the GOP and by ginning up public backlash.

83 Something that I think has happened is that a number of Democrat politicians have been playing to their base's disappointment about the election, whipping up the impeachment/Russia frenzy in order to score points off of rivals in their own party. Playing a game of who is the bigger anti-Trump to enhance power intra-party. It may be getting through to a few of them that this cannot be sustained and they are looking for a way to calm it down.

Good luck, guys - you have over-promised and under-delivered. Ask the GOPe how that turns out.

That said, the Swedish "rape" charges were total bullshit. Total. But when you have an enemy spy you don't need any bullshit charges from some foreign government. The CIA should have taken Assange out back when he first started.

116 It is up to Donald Trump and no one else ...

I have to STRONGLY disagree with this attitude. It is also up to you, and me, and every conservative or libertarian who wants to see the power of the Nanny State rolled back, even a little. Obviously Trump has the most power to do that, but we can also do something. We can contact our senators and congressmen, especially if they're among the ones hemming and hawing about rolling back the power of the Nanny State, and put the fire on. Make a phone call, don't send an email. A phone call, or better yet a handwritten letter, means you cared enough about the subject to spend your time, and your senator or congressman will value it much more highly. And tell them why you voted for them, and what you want them to do.

Do this, even if your senator or congressman is on-board with the freedom agenda. Because it gives them a LOT more power to persuade the other Republicans who might be reluctant to go along with the agenda. It's one thing to say, "Hey, the American people really want this." But if they can say, "Do you know how many of my constituents called my office to ask me to vote for the Obamacare repeal? One hundred and eighty-seven, and that's just in the 2nd district" -- then that's a LOT more persuasive.

Don't just sit back and wait for the Great Savior to ride in on a White Horse and fix everything. That's what Democrats do, and that attitude eventually leads to someone promising to fix everything, then turning into a dictator once they're in office. ("He'll make the trains run on time", and all that). We are not subjects, we are citizens -- and though our power is less than that of the president, or the senators and congressmen, we still have some power, and we should leverage it as best we can.

Never apologize for bringing your hard personal concerns here. I think people care about each other here. If you take your life you will leave a huge hole that you don't realize will be there. There are a number of us here who have felt suicidal and we refused to listen to those destructive voices inside our head. I'm a Christian so I tend to relate to things on Christian terms. If that's not your thing-o.k."The enemy wants to kill, steal and destroy. I came so they might have might have life and have it more abundantly." Jesus said. Call the hotline. Come here and post. I can tell from your posts that you are a smart, thoughtful, interesting fellow. It's terribly distressing not to get a promotion and workplace politics are awful. For example, I hope that PDT takes steps to ensure that Justin Amash (tRaitor) is a one-termer.

This should have also given him some clarity about the rest of the weasels in Washington, from McCain right on down. Oust the leakers, form a tight inner circle, and trust no one else. They are all against him. He has no permanent allies in Washington, only temporary alliances.

You can really get lost in the back and beyond of northern Maine. We had a cabin on Moosehead for years. Two weeks in isolation up there listening to the loons in the evening and you were strengthened to go back and deal with the human loons of civilization.

Where he lived was so remote there weren't even hiking trails, and even hunters avoid the area as too dense. The area is called "The Jarsey" according to the book. In addition to incredibly dense old-growth forest, the area is strewn with enormous boulders. He set up in a clearing within a natural Stonehenge of boulders, surrounded by impenetrable deadfall, with only one way in, between two boulders that looked like one solid boulder until you were right in front of it.

Hemlocks interlaced overhead, as hemlocks do, making his site invisible from the air. And the mix of evergreens and deciduous trees meant he had year-round cover. The spot was breezy enough to keep mosquitos away. He makes mention of those loons!

Its great that there are places where you can take a break from human civilization. Once stopped on a very rural road in Nevada, not a sound anywhere. Only a high flying airplane interrupted the complete silence. Same in the mountains in the east well away from any city/village...New York's mountains well away from anywhere.

But there is a link: If Brennan and his Deep State Stooges hadn't been so busy spying on the Congress, the Court, journalists and Trump, they might have actually had time to do their jobs and stop the devastating Snowden, Manning and NSA leaks.

BTW, Tucker's monologue tonight May 18 was awesome, explaining Leftist tribal coercion and their abandonment of politics for brute force.

Prof. Victor Davis Hanson then explained this entire Horseshit Coup as the Big Lie, a Psychological Black Op conducted against the American people.

It is a death-by-a-thousand-cuts plot explains Hanson. There doesn't even need to be an impeachment death blow if Trump is neutered in place. That's why they're backing off impeachment. They don't really even want it. They just want to delegitimize Trump every single day.

Though VDH is far too kind to the navel gazing egotistical brainlessness that characterizes the #NeverTrumptards.

The NTt's don't seem to realize that a Trump Presidency could be a win-win-win if they gave Trump the backing to give the voters what he promised and [won the Presidential election on,

But...nope. They'd rather be Davos-boys and girls.

My old doctor, who was not a quack and definitely not a pill-pusher thought they should be fluoridating the water, as it were, with statins because of its benefits. There is only a small percentage of people that can have averse liver responses, so they check you for that when you start on it. But I've never heard of statins messing with your mind.

248 'Anti-cholesterol medicine'

Largely BS. Your liver makes 85% of your cholesterol, the enzyme involved is what is targeted by the statins.

Your liver makes cholesterol because it plays a number of vital roles in the body--precursor of steroid hormones and vitamin D3, important component of cell membranes, important in cell signaling.

Besides which, how many thousands of years have people been eating eggs?

I've said it a million times and I'll say it again--people are looking at the problem ass-backwards. It's not so much what you are putting into your body in terms of your diet--your body's metabolism is remarkably flexible, no doubt an evolutionary advantage for early humans.

The problem is the output side. The human body is meant to be used, meant to be active. If it is not, every part of it begins to deteriorate. In technologically advanced countries like this one, people live a largely sedentary lifestyle, which is devastating for the body.

Look at what most people ate in this country more than a century ago--fried foods, buttermilk, often six meals a day. However, obesity was rare, because the nation was largely agricultural--most people lived on farms and worked their asses off from sun-up to sun-down, thus burning off all of those calories.

Be as physically active as possible every day in normal ways--running 10 miles a day, like doing anything in excess, is not a good idea. Just be active. Genes and good luck will take it from there.

The "science" behind cholesterol causing heart disease is really thin.

What may be a better test is - do you have fluffy LDL particles or small & dense LDL particles. Fluffy good, small & dense possibly bad.

The only way to affect that is via diet. High fat, low carb diet. Animal fats are the best.

The whole cholesterol & heart disease thing is actually more political than real science. Big Fat Surprise by Teicholz is an eye opener.

But I tell you, it was like I went to sleep fine and woke up the next morning in some dark cell in a shitty country with death metal blaring and a strobe light on in my face. Nonstop adrenaline rushes and every bad thought about myself I've ever had rushing to the fore. There was no question of calling a hotline or reaching out to friends, just "nononononononono." just did a quick search and there does seem to be growing evidence of a strong correlation between cholesterol meds and depression among men. We'll see.

Absolutely true. Also the 'science' behind fats causing CAD.

Look, if you overdo anything, if will have bad effects. Everything in moderation and all that. However, this cholesterol-fat propaganda has been pushed for decades for two reasons:
1. It's a grant money train, much like the mythology of climate change. In an ever-more competitive environment, this is an advantage.
2. It advances state control over individual freedom-the food mafia is just tentacle of the advancing leftist agenda.

299 On a lighter note, I enjoyed the ONT and happened to see a series of jokes about Porsches and little dicks.

A few years ago I test-drove a 911 because I'd loved them since I was a little kid and figured I'd drive one one of these days. I couldn't sleep for days after. It was like sitting on top of a slab of granite sliding around the road. Magnificently planted. I wound up getting a 2004, the last year of the most hated of all the 911s because of the headlights matching a boxter's and the dreaded IMS bearing issue. You can get into a good 996 for under 30 now, and occasionally find a good one right around 20k. But they're starting to go back up.

It is by a very wide margin the best car I've ever owned, and despite having had if for several years now it's a thrill to drive it every...single...time. If any of you have ever been go-karting, it handles a lot like a go-kart and is just as fun, but with a 320hp engine that makes the sweetest sounds. Steering input is immediate and throttle response near-instantaneous. Now whenever I drive another car and hit the gas, I can feel the chassis shift around initially before the acceleration begins. The 911 responds so quickly it's practically psychic.

Plus the model has been around for 50 years, and they've been improving it the whole time. The more I get to know it the more I love how the car is engineered. All the little things that take a while to get to know about a car just keep surprising me pleasantly.

Tires aren't cheap, and when things wear out they can be expensive, but maintenance is an annual oil-change and it runs like a top.

Make all the little dick jokes you like, but I'm not giving up my sweet sweet ride. If you like cars at all, do yourself a favor and test-drive one.

360 The Palestinians of Kuwait were kidnapped, tortured and killed. "Kill a Palestinian and Go to Heaven," became the slogan. When Kuwait was "liberated", tanks and armored vehicles were sent into the Hawally suburb of Kuwait City known as Little Palestine. Half the buildings were knocked down by bulldozers. Some detained Palestinians were buried in mass graves. The vast majority, including those who had been born in Kuwait, were deported or forced to flee a land they had lived in for a generation.

This is so odd. I never knew about this before now. Why didn't Rachel Corrie go to Kuwait and demand reparations? Do Roger Waters and Stephen Hawking know about this?

Eric Clapton and his new wife, the former Mrs. George Harrison, Pattie Boyd had a wedding reception at their English estate on May 19, 1979. It turned out to be the closest thing to a live Beatles reunion when Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr played together. There are different stories why John Lennon was not there including he was living in the US at the time and also one that says he never got his invitation.

Clapton had set up an outdoor stage for a mammoth jam session which featured the three ex-Beatles, a reformed Cream, the Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger and Bill Wyman, Elton John, David Bowie, and many more.

436 To me, the most positive thing that can come from a Trump presidency is that IF people FINALLY learn to stop seeing politics through the prism of parties. Specifically, I am hoping people figure out, once and for all, that there are no parties, really - just statists and non-statists. The GOP, from Trump on down, is FULL of statists (and yes, Trump is ABSOLUTELY a statist, which makes the caterwauling and shrieking of the Dem/Leftists statists over him the more amusing).

437 Ancient African Proverbs:

"If you eat a Buddhist missionary, an hour later, you'll be hungry again."

"When the white farmer objects after you've stolen his land, burn him at the stake rather than behead him! After all, a hot steak is better than a cold chyop."

"Zulu? Not much. What's zulu with you?"
