Saturday Morning Weird News Dump

Sat mornin.jpg

Saturday morning. Wow, where did the week go?

*****

So here are just a few things that didn't get much attention if any at all here at the AoSHQ.

Just a few things for you to mull over. Enjoy these or any other topics you may have in this open thread. Management wishes you don't run with sharp objects, don't talk with your mouth full and that you play nice with the others.

In other words, have fun but be nice.

Have a great weekend!!!

The power of fracking. Now that the USA has the Saud family over the barrel, so to speak, it's amazing how 'flexible' they are.

Posted by: E Depluribus Unum at May 20, 2017 08:41 AM (HTdUD)

49 I hope grammie is still around. Regarding her hubby's vertigo, if no other physiological problems have been found, he may very well have what's called "paroxysmal positional vertigo" (I think someone touched on this on the previous thread).

I've had it, and it's something people get when they are older. An abrupt change in position, like from the vertical to the horizontal, can set it off.

What happens is that there are these little crystals in the inner ear, inside that bit that looks like a conch shell (damned if I can remember what it's called), that regulate your sense of balance. When you get older, sometimes when you do a sudden change in position, those crystals can come unstuck and start floating around inside your inner ear, and BAM, instant vertigo. And yes, it's bad, the whole room-is-spinning, nausea, the works.

But, there is a sort of positional head exercise you can do that will usually clear it right up. Any good ear specialist should be able to show you how to do it.

Only thing is, if that's the problem, he will remain prone to a recurrence. So watch out for and avoid doing any rapid changes in position, particularly from the vertical to horizontal.

68 Christopher Taylor:

I've read posts where you comment that you'd like to begin dressing a bit more like the dignified men of the past, and I thought of you when I saw this. Penney's has dress shirts for $7.50 with a promo code listed at the top of the screen.

http://www.jcpenney.com/g/mens-dress-shirts-ties/
N-bwo3yD1nopel

It's not too tough to immediately begin dressing nicer, and people (especially women, it seems) will notice. Just imagine moving up a notch. Start wearing izods where you would once wear t-shirts, button down shirts where you considered izods, and suits where you used to wear button downs. Add a $75 sport coat for the free shipping and you've got a nice ensemble ready to go.

132 The media is enjoying record ratings.

The media are not a charity or a scientific endeavor--immune to monetary pressure and determined only to find the truth.

They are not selling those ads because they are telling the truth.

What makes you think they are telling the truth now?

Also, their audience really doesn't care if they're telling the truth either.

They want the lies, they need the lies.

Because the truth would mean they were--and are--wrong. About Trump, about Hillary, about everything.

They want the lies, they need the lies. And the media is happy to sell it to them.

You should not be a customer.

Here's the quandary I'm in. The alternative to actual marijuana is something called K2 or JWH or some other names. It makes people nearly 100% certifiably insane. When many african-americans have used these products in close proximity to officers of the law they tend to end up 100% dead, because police training is pretty strong on not getting oneself killed and less how to deal with people nearly certifiably insane.

Back in the day, I remember the potheads, consuming 'all-natural' marijuana, would sit on the couch, eat cheese products, then fall asleep.

Not wander down the middle of a highway, looking for a confrontation with police, for no apparent reason.

262 What's behind all these stupid "breaking news" items about Trump and Russia that keep coming out, each one more trivial than the last is simply ratings -or 'clicks"--and money. There are liberals on the edge of their seat and keeping their eyes peeled on the latest "news' who are LITERALLY expecting Trump to quit/get impeached/drop dead at ANY moment. I remember when Obama was first elected listening to Rush Limbaugh. He knew it was not going to effect him personally except financially in a good way, as he would have plenty to talk and gripe about for four years. His ratings never suffered.

The leftists are making their money now, conjuring up as many stories as they can, from characters imagined or real, in order to have their payday.

They have stories, not much if any truth, and are probably silently praying they can keep the fires lit, and their wallets stuffed for the next four years. Like the Wizard of Oz behind the curtain, they're pretty damn transparent in their manipulation, once you peek behind the curtain.

Watched the clips on the news this morning of the Pres. and First Lady and the entourage arriving at the airport in Saudi A.

Melania is wearing what appears to be a full length 'romper". It looks like a flowing pantsuit with top, in black, with a very Arab looking large belt with it , so that it doesn't look like a burka.

It is appropriate high fashion that demonstrates respect toward the host's culture , prevents a wardrobe malfunction as she descends the stairs of AirForce One and walks across a windy tarmac and she looks beautiful in it. Noticed that Ivanka, who is accompanying Jared and will be attending some women's issues forums, is also wearing a long, to the floor dress, although in a soft, blue and white pattern.

I am impressed with the Saudi's reception. They not only rolled out a red carpet for the President to his plane, but the King, who is 81, in frail health with hip problems, etc. walked out to the bottom of the steps to greet the President and first lady.

Remember, the last time Obama went to Saudi A, there was NO reception at the airport, the monarchy ignored his arrival.

The Saudi's also flew fighter jets overhead which sprayed red white and blue smoke and all of the Saudi flags have American flags flying with them , on equal height, throughout Riyahd.

Someone last night posted a website of the actual summit. Neither Bing nor Google will let me find it now...likely because it was very positive toward the summit, President Trump, etc.

Anyone have the address?
