Donny Two Scoops Whacks His Dick (MJ)

Let me 'splain something about the Comey firing...

It was really boring, totally normal, and done for the most basic reasons. It's true that both the Left and Right had lost confidence in James Comey as the leader of the FBI. He botched the Clinton email investigation from any political perspective and then followed it up with a bizarre performance in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee on May 3rd.

The beautiful and entertaining Laura Ingraham agrees:

“I think [Comey] really damaged his own reputation. He came in as kind of a straight shooter. But by the end, nobody trusted him,” Ingraham said. “So in the end, it was about time that Justice Department recommended his removal.”

"... the Left was not happy with him, the Right was not happy with him, and I think most people just think his investigation — if you look at this fairly, and the Russian collusion — there was nothing there," Ingraham added. "He found nothing there, but he did manage to put a lot of doubt in a lot of people's minds about the outcome of this election."

At one point his dog called for his resignation. It went something like this:

Bark bark, Comey has to go, bark bark.

Tough stuff. Really horrible.

And you know what isn't true? Just about everything else reported. The media gossip girls are focused on the palace intrigue, and rumor mill angles to the story. Almost everything you've read is an anonymous source making an observation about a trivial detail that has absolutely nothing to do with the actual reason that Comey was asked to spend more time with his family.

Ignore it all, and remember that the truth and reality are pale reflections of the dreams and conspiracies cooked up by shallow, j-school know nothings.

Remember when Steve "Nicknameless" Bannon and Jared "Who?" Kushner were going to meet at the flagpole after school to finally settle the score once and for all?

I guess they worked it out and everyone went back to work.

Exciting stuff!

27 OK, Ima gonna solve the two scoops for The Donald versus one scoop for everyone else:

In his immediate family, The Donald has many fashionistas who regularly shimmy into extremely expensive custom made size 0 couture. Those women are not eating even tiny spoonful of one scoop of ice cream, so why waste it? The Donald is six feet two inches tall and works a twenty hour day, so he can allow himself two scoops, with hot fudge and sprinkles even. It's that simple, he's not being an ice cream miser, but, why waste it and how much can Barron and the little grandchildren realistically be expected to eat over and above their own serving?

I think it's even simpler than that. The White House chef plans the meals. I would bet money he was the one who decided there would be 1 scoop of ice cream with the pie. But, he also makes adjustments for the regulars. So, Donny 2 Scoops let the chef know he always wants 2 scoops with his pie. So, that's what he gets. A friend of mine was worried when on the day of a big layoff, he was called to an unexpected meeting. It turns out it was totally innocuous (what kind of idiot calls an unplanned meeting on the day of a massive bloodletting?), but when he came back, visibly relieved, he said he walked into the room and looked for gas outlets, but began to relax when he saw there were none.

91 Did somebody ask for a backgrounder on TwoScoopsGate, our latest national crisis?

The information about Trump's ice cream eating habits comes from a new article by Time Magazine.

The article is extensive and divulges the inner workings of the White House staff and how they have become accustomed to Trump's desires.

The magazine noted one of these "personal preferences" as Trump receiving two scoops of ice cream with his chocolate cream pie, while others around the table receive only one.

So now you know. The rest of the story.

Then it is the tedious long and boring months, with nothing to do, while between jobs, never knowing if you are going to be hired ever again.

And it takes a special skill to turn on that fake emotion on cue, and then just turn it off again. It takes a psychological toll on everyone.

Don't knock it unless you have tried it. But it has to be aged, or "sharp" cheese. Which is slightly acidic, and complements the pie which can be overly sweet.

There are a lot of recipes that work the balance between sweet and sour to good effect.

Ice cream works the same angle, from the other end. It's sweeter than the pie filling, so a contrast is established that way.

Ever think of how stupid alternate universes are on TV?

All it takes is 2 seconds to figure out how dumb it is.

In all these tv alt/parallel universes, they encounter their counterparts in the same geographical location and involved with each other somehow, but yet everything is "opposite."

Well, if everything was "opposite" in this parallel universe, how did all these people get born in the first place? Their entire historical timeline would've taken a completely different path from Day 1.

307 Interesting item over at Weasel Zip about an article quoting someone involved in the Clinton investigation/non-investigation.

Just from the pull-quote, more jaw-dropping confirmation of things we sort of know. Comey reviewed histories of 30 Espionage Act cases - as if there were a comparable case involving a cabinet secretary, years of deliberate felonies, and obstruction of justice from which to make any judgements. Also, according to same source, the Comey team pondered the best approach given the "political situation".

No, dumbasses, for the billionth time, not your job, way beyond your apparent intellects. Do your actual job (which also wasn't done, considering how the case was "investigated"), then when the Third World-level political squash comes from Lynch, speak out - and/or quit.

As the name implies, it's a hoppy IPA.

Despite the 1984-inspired name, Victory Beer is not cheap swill. They make all kinds of varieties. I need to investigate them further. That company is pretty local to me. I don't know how much of a national reach they have. Has anyone outside the SE PA area heard of them?

326 Lucky in that I like all kinds of beers. Just prefer certain ones, at certain times, to others. Living amongst craft-brew abundance, I have all kinds of different ones all the time. There are always some "meh", but it's case by case.

It's nice to be able to actually "pair" beers with food, something I never could do, or thought to do, before. (a cream ale on nitro matched with an excellent burger using green chiles and packing some heat is a favorite)

Understand differences in taste, but as with so many other things (guns, wine), seems a lot of people actually put effort into not liking lots of things, or (without any basis) pick one thing or type or brand as "the best".

Ninety percent red drinker, but whites have their place. Depends.

Stalin's favorite wine was just OK - assuming it hasn't changed much since he would use it for toasts (while his ministers and generals used vodka). The winery that made it, back home in Georgia, was still in operation back in the 90s.

Had some home-made wines in Georgia which weren't going to win any awards, but the context - consumed on a cold November night, in the detached kitchen-house, along with fresh cheese-bread (khachapurri) baked in iron forms in an open fireplace ..... historically good.

403 I think the NYT food/restaurant critic (a very big deal, back then) in the 80s (Craig Claiborne?) used to do a fast-food review once a year. Think he did it to tweak the snobs who hung on his reviews of NYC restaurants.

Or this could all be "false memory" caused by (hmmm, back then, let's see ..... ) excessive consumption of beer (non-craft variety - I seem to recall Harp was always a staple for me at bars) and hard stuff.

480 Mortimer to my surprise there are some very very good craft beers (typically IPAs but not always) with some subtle added flavors that work very well.

One local craft place has a grapefruit IPA that is fantastic, but too much fruit to be anything other than a stand-alone hot-weather beer or a "dessert" beer. I've found some of the local coffee porters to be the perfect "after dinner" beer.

517 to my surprise there are some very very good craft beers (typically
IPAs but not always) with some subtle added flavors that work very well.
===

I am notorious for hating "added flavors". Coffee is black. Liquor is straight.

Cherry-flavored anything makes me want to puke.

But something about the citrus IPAs just works. I will try the porters and let you know how it goes.

Posted by: Mortimer - Finish Her! at May 12, 2017 09:47 PM (Uxokn)

518 One nice thing about the craft breweries, most of them - on the menu they've got the alcohol content and the IBU (bitterness metric) right there, so one can manage the booze part, and also navigate for flavor preference. Of course they all have generous sampling policies, so you never have to guess.

I'm not a hard-core IPA sort (I know some - just another group missing out on a lot of options, seems to me), but case by case, and context (food/no food, etc.), sure, there are some I've loved.

What's really nice is that it's now become sort of standard for restaurants to have at least a few craft beer options (usually local) - a big change in just a few years. But that's here (San Diego, with close to 150 craft breweries now), not sure things have moved that far everywhere.
