Trump Launches Panel to Investigate Election Fraud

Good. It was a campaign promise, it's long overdue, and it's the right time for it -- the media and Democrats cannot object to an investigation into voter fraud when they're simultaneously screaming about "hacking the election," at least not without appearing to be more ridiculous shills than they currently appear.

Adam Schiff and Jake Tapper are all about voting integrity. Right? Right...?

That said, the Usual Suspects are already complaining. They're claiming that having to show ID would make it "harder" for "some people" to vote, in much the same way that having to show ID makes it harder for some people to buy cigarettes, alcohol, and guns.

My guess is the overwhelming majority of voter fraud is through early voting. Much harder to get people to do this in person.

Notice that the states that had really lax early voting, Hillary did well in.

Ones that had tighter restrictions and were more lopsided towards same day, Trump did well.

Will be interesting to see...You figure a lot of places that have been engaging in voter fraud for decades are already heavily Democrat, with everyone involved from the electors to the city, if not state government benefiting from it.

For example, Detroit: there was the blatant fraud with the ballot box labels were completely different (52 ballots in the box, labeled as having 300+ ballots). How do you fix that short of replacing everyone who works elections, and how do motivate the corrupt Detroit city government to ever go along with that?

Same thing in CA, where so many of the voting infrastructure are Latino, so where's the motivation for them to stop illegals from voting?

Posted by: TheJamesMadison at May 12, 2017 02:02 PM (mC1ZI)

Umm, the 2016 Presidential race that was contested in three states by the brilliant Dr. Stein demonstrated that in Detroit, the fraud was so bad that a recount was impossible to conduct, to the surprise of no one in Michigan.

There were poll workers who admitted to not being able to determine if voting machines were working(because they ignored Michigan's mandatory poll worker and machine calibrations and orientations done two weeks in advance) , so they simply kept feeding the same ballots through a machine repeatedly.

For it to take the state of Michigan almost two months to certifiy an electronically held election with paper ballots as physical back up is inexcusable. For a state to have a major population center whose polls were so badly run, and ballots trashed, destroyed, and counted ten times is also inexcusable.

Yeah, there's no fraud.

(1) Each state must ensure that the dead are removed from the voter roles.
(2) Each state must ensure that non-citizens do not vote in Federal elections.
(3) Each state must have a transparent and reliable system in place to ensure that each person who votes is qualified to do so, and does so only once per election.
(4) If any state cannot or does not satisfactorily satisfy the above three points, that state's voting result will not be certified, and its electoral votes will be disqualified.

Additionally:

(A) Reliable, government-issued voter credentials, with signature and photo ID, will be required.
(B) Third-party voter registration is barred. To register to vote, a citizen must present himself/herself in the office of the Registrar of Voters, with valid documentation of his/her qualification to vote.

83 from the last thread, 54 CAFE and golf carts - back many years ago, when I was young, I did some construction work for Del Webb in Sun City, Az. (gotten really big now, I'm kind of amazed to see the parts I helped build considered the OLD parts of town now) But anyway, they all drove golf carts, and had low speed limits, and didn't want to spend any money being a bunch of cheap old midwesterners, so they bought their little police force these nice new cheap golf carts, that they would roll around on.

So I remember when I would get off work and head back to Phoenix, I'd jump in my '71 302 Torino with the headers and the glasspacks (LOUD) and I'd look for one of these meter maids, sitting by the road, and go all out on the throttle right in front of him, just daring him to do something about it.

oh yeah and "Red Barchetta" blasting out of the pioneer tuner with all the windows down. Old people loved that shit.

102 voting ID by states (strict means you have to have the ID to vote, non-strict means you can vote without ID but it is marked provisional to check before counting)

Strict photo ID required: Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Mississippi, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
Strict non-photo ID required: Arizona and Ohio.
Non-Strict photo ID required: Alabama, Florida, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and Texas.
Non-Strict non-photo ID required: Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Kentucky, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Utah, and Washington.

32 out of the 50 states require some kind of ID to vote at some level. That's "most" in simple language.

Most of those states have had these laws for a very long time. Its only recently that it has become some kind of horror to require voter ID.

116 I don't understand why it's assumed that black people are incapable of getting drivers licenses.

I did find one phone survey from like 15 years ago that showed that black people were something like 20% (!!!) less likely to have a photo ID.

But I've also seen a ton of studies that compare voter ID to non-voter ID states that show no difference in black turnout as a per centage of population.

One thing that kind of jumped out at me about the old poll was that the question asked if they had a "VALID" ID which ... well, I can see how that would be confusing. You might have a suspended drivers license and think that makes it an "invalid" ID, even though it's still valid for identification purposes.

And in states that physically take your drivers license if it's suspended, they usually issue you a non-driver ID for free. So... yeah.

132 Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at May 12, 2017 02:17 PM (39g3+)

I'm not sure how accurate that list is.

In CT, for example, you cannot register or vote without an ID showing you live at the address you register at. The poll workers can (but, from experience, don't usually) give you a provisional ballot and let you vote, but I've personally been turned away before.

In NH, in contrast, you only recently needed an ID to vote, and it can be an ID with any address issued by any state. And even then, you don't really need it, you can sign an affidavit saying you are who you say you are. Of course, you can say you are whoever you want to say you are and sign whatver name you want.

tl;dr -- some states are super strict, some are... less so. The non-swing states seem to be much stricter than swing states. hmmmm, wonder why?

174 Seems to me that with the technology that exists, there's no reason the voting process shouldn't be as reliable as using an ATM machine.

If someone other than me takes $40 out of my account, I know about it within a day, and it gets rectified pronto. If banks miscounted our money, we'd close our accounts and burn the banks to the ground.

The technology for reliable voting exists, obviously. If the voters and the people in charge demanded it, this would get fixed.

That's an important IF.

218 I don't think Voter ID gets at the problem. It only proves the person who shows up is probably the person registered.

The fraud usually occurs upstream. States like California, New York, and Illinois register thousands of illegal immigrants and no one really investigates to make sure they're legit. 130 people registered to vote in an address that goes to a 2-bedroom apartment in Inglewood? 80 people registered at the address of an Applebee's in White Plains. That's totally legit, right?

And then there's the whole mail-in/absentee thing. 11,000 votes from a Nevada zipcode with only 8,000 residents? Nothing to see here, move along.

It's a security / anti-fraud thing. If you take an expired id that's a day old, then you take one that's a year old, 5 years old, 30 years old, etc. Unless you have some kind of thing where you only treat some of the expired ones as valid. They just made it simple. Expired = invalid.

235 PSA for big city people.
If you have business with the Dept of Motor Vehicles it is not necessary to do it in the city where you reside. It is a state issue. Pick a small town and do your business. There may be 3 people in front of you. The same applies to county, pick an annex where there is low population density.

"Don't vote for the party that sees you as a sub-human unemployed loser. Vote ANYONE BUT THE DEMOCRAT CANDIDATE."

The left hammers the right every chance they get. The right should hammer back.

We should have President Trump post on Twitter something about "my opponents think that minorities are incompetent, but I think minorities are people who can do great things in our great country." Then the usual suspects will take the bait, unable to resist, and will start talking about Trump's obvious insanity and what does he mean by that ("TRUMP says WE ARE THE RACISTS???!!!?? I CANT EVEN"), and then our pundits spell out what Trump meant and everyone is talking about it. (This sort of thing worked over and over during Trump's Presidential election campaign, and I don't think Trump was even doing it on purpose most of the time.)

269 Two things, then hockey.

Pursue a civil rights/constitutional angle on this. Surely there is one - dilution of votes via fraud is denial/impairment of others' civil rights. Alongside the tsunami of absurd "civil rights" distortions and lawless usurpations (marriage redefinition, etc) swamping the country for decades, how about a legit civil rights issue that also is material to the overall collapse of the rule of law?

Rhetorical/political offensive. Though less automatic than issues like mass illegal migration, support for common sense on voter ID is instinctive for a decisive majority.

Savage these idiots, make them defend the lack of election integrity, every day, in every venue. Make very harsh insulting terms and nicknames engaging this topic part of everyday speech. Force it into the press. Force the Dems to defend and own it, constantly.

Still mail out the ballots or allow anyone to pick up a ballot during a set timeframe before the election (week or month). People can fill it out at home at their leisure. But, no mailing it in. You have to drop it off and show id at that point. Should make the lines shorter since many people will have theirs already filled out and it's just a matter of checking id.

Maybe he's just trolling me, but I don't think so. Posted by: Country Boy at May 12, 2017 02:43 PM (Jcg9Q).

Ricky Bobby: "From now on, you're the Magic Man, and I'm El Diablo!"
Carl Naughton, Jr. "What does Diablo mean?"
Ricky Bobby: "It's like Spanish, for like a fighting chicken."

305 "Gladiator" finessed the issue by featuring a slave from "Numida." And it was no accident that Maximus was " a Spaniard."

Uh, that actually had grounding in actual Things That Happened Then, you know. Unlike the utter bollocks that is King Arthur: Still Trying To Make Charlie Hunnam A Thing.

308 And while we're at it can we please get rid of "early" voting? It subverts the entire concept of a national election, i.e. an electorate making a decision at the same point in time based on a shared set of circumstances.

It also favors incumbents/name recognition, as the less-known candidate isn't going to spend the bulk of their limited money too far ahead of the election.

The whole thing is an ADA-inspired sop to the "It's so difficult!!!" crowd. Just show the frick up on election day if its important to you. And, if its not important to you and you don't really have any strong preferences for God's sake stay the frick home.

Which didn't exist in the 12th century. The present-day English accent (BBC received English) is a late Victorian version of the Home Counties accent.

310 While we are talking about media, why the hell can't Joan Watson on Elementary date a chinese guy for once? It's like the wildest, most radical thing you could do on these shows, date someone that is the same race.

311 You refuse to admit your guilt. You refuse to make amends for your atrocities by allowing all oppressed people the right to vote. Very well then. I will don the war paint. FREEDOM!!!

voting ID by states (strict means you have to have the ID to vote, non-strict means you can vote without ID but it is marked provisional to check before counting)

Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at May 12, 2017 02:17 PM (39g3+)

So 173 of Hills 232 electoral votes come from NON ID anything states

Including
CA
ILL
NY
NJ
MD
MASS
Minn

Yea nothing fishy there at all folks.

313 It's a security / anti-fraud thing. If you take an expired id that's a day old, then you take one that's a year old, 5 years old, 30 years old, etc. Unless you have some kind of thing where you only treat some of the expired ones as valid. They just made it simple. Expired = invalid.

Posted by: Anon Y. Mous at May 12, 2017 02:44 PM (R+30W)

It's also because people don't protect expired IDs very rigorously, so it's easy to obtain someone's expired ID - from, e.g., the trash - and then use it, perhaps after doctoring the photo.

That's interesting. I know Pennsylvania has voting laws that kept getting kicked down the road for years. Pennsylvania went for Trump against every poll everywhere.

Did those laws finally kick in in November?

The Philly Fraud Machine was caught napping last year. Expect a 200 percent voting turnout in North Philly in 2020.

320 Conservative Ivy League educated political and economic analyst? Your opinion is hateful and worthless.

Any complete loser incapable of acquiring photo ID and highly likely to vote Democrat? Your opinions regarding geopolitical economics are preciously brilliant and your "Right to Vote" must be protected from TrumpHitler!

Seriously. Again: Who gives a flying fuck about someone's opinion if they can't get a fucking ID?
