1 Good Morning Morons. Today is Sunday, April 23, 2017. On this day in 1985 Coca-Cola changed its formula and released New Coke. The response was overwhelmingly negative, and the original formula was back on the market in less than three months.

27 Good morning, kids. My thoughts on Erin Moran:

I have absolutely no idea if Erin Moran was a victim of show business' rampant, routine sexual abuse of children - still swept under the rug and unpunished - but her untimely passing is a bleak reminder of the long list of destroyed lives left in its wake. And not just sexual abuse but emotional abuse as well as financial fraud from managers and even relatives that leaves many young actors virtually destitute when their time in the limelight passes.

In any case, "Happy Days" not only portrayed/reflected a positive time in our history, I think it went a long way in helping the nation escape (for a half hour a week anyway) the hideous moral and cultural rot of the decade that came after it. Erin Moran was a part of that. It's better to remember her for her vivacious spirit and smile and not for her sad decline and end.

Rest In Peace.

37 North Korea detained a US citizen on Friday, South Koreas Yonhap news agency has reported, bringing the total number of Americans held by the isolated country to three.

The man, a Korean-American in his fifties identified only by his surname Kim, had been in North Korea for a month to discuss relief activities, Yonhap said on Sunday. He was arrested at Pyongyang International Airport on his way out of the country.

North Korea, which has been criticised for its human rights record, has in the past used detained Americans to extract high-profile visits from the United States, with which it has no formal diplomatic relations.

70 "I posted in ONT that Rome airport seemed light on security."

Most of the security is actually out of sight, and invisible to your average individual.

Since the massacre's in 1973,and 1985, they take it very seriously.

Starting with the catwalk that goes around the entire perimeter of the interior passenger areas up near the roof line.

Gives them a good look-down shoot-down platform.

If the armored vehicles are missing from the drop off area, I would guess that it's just temporary.

I dreamt that if you scratch the forehead of any mouse and broke through the skin, you would find a seed pod of a maple tree (the wing shaped things that we stuck on our noses as kids). "To everyone who's lost someone they love,
Long before it was their time.
You feel like the days you had were not enough,
When you had said goodbye.

There is hope for the helpless,
Rest for the weary.
And love for the broken heart.
And there is grace and forgiveness,
Mercy and healing.
He'll meet you wherever you are.

Cry Out To Jesus ... Cry Out to Jesus."

The article I read this am on that said that the Taliban deny attacking anyone IN the mosque; musta got them as they poured out unarmed. Oh, and the death toll now stands at 160. And ISIS is taking credit as well.

And as I surmised 2 days ago, there had to be some deserters/traitors from the Afghan army involved in the attack; the BB piece sez reports are 4 of the 10 attackers were former Afghan army members.

I'm seeing a lot of Trump complaint pieces in the right leaning media these days. There's at least 4 or 5 at American Thinker this am alone. And I've seen those complaints echoed here with increasing frequency.

PDT's first 3 months have been full of #winning, because they were things he could do alone with reverse pen and phone. Much of the low hanging fruit has been nabbed, and now he needs the Congress swamp-things for more difficult changes.

Per a recent survey of Repubs and Repub leaning independents, 92% think that Trump has met or exceeded expectations so far. That's fair dinkum.

I'm not saying he shouldn't get some criticism, but this whole "he's dead to me" crap over some move he's made seems, well, harsh. Count your change clink clink clink clink clunk, and toss the clunkers.

150 Re European airport security. Lot of this is not really new, at least over there. Back in the late 1980s had a coworker who, along with his wife, took a vacation trip to Europe.

On their return they caught their return flight in Frankfurt, Germany. And talk about security; he told about how in order to get on your flight you were searched, your luggage was searched, and there were a boatload of German cops standing around with submachine guns to make damn sure you complied with any instructions given. The guy said everyone did EXACTLY what they were told.

Of course, this was back in the days when the Red Army Faction, Red Brigades and other European communist terrorist groups were still very active.

Some things never change...

Most of the tools, parts, test equipment and whatnot that I've used over the years mostly came from Radio Shack (or "Rat Shack" as we used to call it).

And oh yes, my first computer was a Radio Shack Color Computer, their equivalent of the old Commodore machines. I well remember loading and storing programs on a tape cassette recorder.

173 Congress or the executive branch should convene a climate science Red/Blue exercise as a step toward resolving, or at least illuminating, differing perceptions of climate science. While the Red and Blue Teams should be knowledgeable and avowedly opinionated scientists, the commission should have a balanced membership of prominent individuals with technical credentials, led by co-chairmen who are forceful, knowledgeable and independent of the climate-science community. The Rogers Commission for the Challenger disaster in 1986, the Energy Department's Huizenga/Ramsey Review of Cold Fusion in 1989, and the National Bioethics Advisory Commission of the late 1990s are models for the kind of fact-based rigor and transparency needed.

The outcome of a Red/Blue exercise for climate science is not preordained, which makes such a process all the more valuable. It could reveal the current consensus as weaker than claimed. Alternatively, the consensus could emerge strengthened if Red Team criticisms were countered effectively. But whatever the outcome, we scientists would have better fulfilled our responsibilities to society, and climate policy discussions would be better informed. For those reasons, all who march to advocate policy making based upon transparent apolitical science should support a climate science Red Team exercise.

I'm calling the current situation #winningfatigue. So many hits to the pleasure centers of the conservative brain, as he's lived up to his promises for the most part so far. But now the going gets tougher.

But personnel is policy, and Jeff Sessions continues to bring it. The EPA is facing huge budget cuts. We have Perry at DOEnergy, who once claimed he wanted to shutter that agency. We have a major critic of Ex-Im Bank now heading the place. The head of the DOI is reversing many foolish anti-fracking, anti-mining regulations. The list goes on. Gorsuch is already impacting the SC. Dodd-Frank is under fire.

It's not all roses, but it ain't a bed of thorns either.

He says gentrification does somewhat the same, having cast(e) blacks to the edges like Ferguson, so the elite and their foreign cheap labor (slave) class can reclaim the prime real estate.

vdare.com/articles/demography-vs-peak-reason-in-turkey-and-the-west

Our coastal elites are not "egalitarian", they have become predatory vultures. Populism is demeaned as if the middle class is full of dullards, but it just ain't so. Only a vibrant middle class can make America Great.

To thwart the middle-class uprisings, the cultural Marxist plot separated out several preferred classes and set them against the white/male/Christian non-Democrat heritage.

Elites have no interest in fraternizing with their servant class. Sadly they are NOT the best educated except in terms of ivy league degree, knowing leftist dogma but failing in applied knowledge. They would run our heritage into the ground just to keep their cheap labor and false bravado.

Populism for the Win. viva la counter-revolucion.
