1 Good Morning Morons. On this day in 2000 in a pre-dawn raid, federal agents seized six-year-old Elián González from his relatives' home in Miami. And who could forget this wonderful testimony to Bill Clinton and the harpy AG Janet Reno? Imagine if it had been a Republican.

27 I see Fox news this am has a story about how NK is short on gasoline. Gas stations are rationing gas, and only official cars and foreign diplomats can buy it. Most cars are driven by government officials anyway, and I'm sure Kim Jong un has plenty of gasoline. Watching the newest videos on YouTube you can see traffic is much heavier than it use to be, with little green taxis everywhere. Of course the average Korean still rides a bike or rides the bus.
Some are wondering if China is tightening the supply, as that's where NK gets it gas from.

38 Liberals as an elective force have been decimated at every level of
government, from state, local, to federal. The ONLY area the dems have
any elective influence is in the senate, simply because elections only
happen every 6 years and they have not caught up yet. They will in 2018,
when the dems need to defend 26 seats compared to the GOP's 8.
The
dem party is imploding. But they still have power in the Washington
Beltway. On one hand, it's frustrating and even terrifying that these
people can so easily usurped elected power and implement their agenda.
On the other hand...
We are passing the rubicon. I believe that
these insane actions - from Russian hysteria to supporting leftists brownshirts (antifa) and everything in between - represent the last dying

Breastfeeding and menstruation and the stigma associated with both is a certain winner with the electorate. Thank God she Is standing up and letting her voice be heard. I mean, not a day goes by that I don't worry about those issues.

No. I will wander over, and stay focused on the event, even offer verbal affirmation at close range. Strike up a conversation, perhaps even broach the other stigma of menstruation by inquiring about the womans cycle and whether she has sufficient absorption materials on hand.

But in our case, stately VIA Manor was built in 1954 using plaster board. And wallpaper.

Even ceiling wallpaper.

And when we purchased the home 13 years ago, we were rotating back from being stationed in Italy, and I only had a short amount of time to make the place habitable.

And now that we want to market it,it's time for the attention to detail.

Very time consuming.

I have taken to keeping an old natural bristle stiff hair brush from my Crew Cut days next to the Deep sink.

Once I think the trim brush is clean, I spend a few moments brushing it out under running water.

And hanging them up to dry is a must as well.

My guess, and it's just a guess because I haven't really been following this story, is that Hernandez was coming on to one of the guys, and that guy turned him down and told the other guy (who was probably his boyfriend), and the boyfriend was upset, so he deliberately knocked a drink onto Hernandez in retaliation (but tried to make it look accidental, because Hernandez was bigger and stronger than him, and he didn't want to get punched). Hernandez, who knew it was intentional, got pissed and followed the couple out of the bar, pulled up next to their car in traffic, and shot them both dead.

Shit status, real

Proud Boys is an alt right group started by Gavin McInnes as a mens rights/anti rad fem group. Proud boys have acted as security escorts for right speakers before.

Based Stickman, the iconic alt right protestor made famous in the first Berkeley riots, (see side bar) is forming the Fraternal Order of Alt-Knights or FOAK. They are partnering with Proud Boys

They will act as a paramilitary protective group at speeches and demonstrations when local authorities have been issued stand down orders or refused to act to protect the right.

A paramilitary protection force is being created because civil authorities have refused to protect the rights of the people

It's a nice ride on the light rail from the city out to the airport.

And the facilities are very modern.

189 Baltimore Sun and probably other Tribune papers:

Thousands of scientists are expected to converge on the National Mall
for the march, which is being held on the 47th observance of Earth Day.
Organizers called for the event amid what they call "an alarming trend
toward discrediting scientific consensus and restricting scientific
discovery."

It might rain on their parade....MSM will inflate the number by 10X. Show the National Mall full to over flowing.

190 And now that we want to market it,it's time for the attention to detail.

Very time consuming.

But it does give a feeling of accomplishment when each room is finished.

As my wife and I were getting ready to sell our place, someone told us that your house never looks better than when you are about to sell it. It was definitely true in our case (and for just a moment, made us want to stay put)

192 Some hot tips for a great paint job:

- All transitions from wall to trim (or wall to ceiling if uneven) should be caulked. Do not use cheap shit painter's caulk, as it will dry out and crack. I use Solar Seal 900 by NPC; it's the best caulk I've found in 40 years of carpentry and painting. It's paintable, sticks to everything, and it applies like a dream regardless of how big or small a bead I apply. It also draws up a bit (like how brush strokes level off), so you needn't tool the bead unless you want to (use a finger dipped in thinner to tool the bead). Silicone is only for tile or counter work (and alcohol is the only solvent that works on silicone, btw.)
The best clear caulk I've found is FlashMate, in the roofing dept at Home Depot; it smells and works like Solar Seal, but is gin-clear whereas clear Solar Seal is like waxed paper.

-Natural bristle brushes are only for use with oil-based paints, varnishes, etc; latex paints require a nylon or nylon/poly brush. Prolonged exposure to water will ruin a good bristle brush.

- Use a straight-blade screwdriver and hammer to punch 8 or so holes in the bottom of the rim on your gallon of paint, It won't affect the seal of the lid, but will allow you to use a brush to clean the rim prior to replacing the lid.

- NEVER work out of the gallon can; it's too heavy, and if you knock it over (don't ask), well... Take an clean empty gallon can and use a Swing-a-Way can opener to remove the folded rim as you would a soup can. Then (this is Nobel-level genius, and no, I didn't think of it), take a big key ring and run it onto the wire bail of your new "work pot". Pour 1" to 1-1/2" of paint into the pot, then clean the gallon's rim and hammer the lid back on. Slip your thumb into the keyring and you'll find you can hold the pot all day comfortably, without pinching your thumb. If you don't have too much paint in the pot, you can drop the brush into the pot between strokes without getting paint up in the ferrule (if you do, clean the brush and start over).

- Don't wipe the bristles on the lip of the pot; lift the brush up out of the paint, slap-slap it gently against the inside of the pot, and you'll have the right amount of paint in the brush. Promise.

- If you're using oil, add Penetrol to the paint; latex gets Floetrol, although the newer latexes like SW Cashmere don't need it. Penetrol makes paint flow better, keeps a wet edge longer, and makes brush strokes lay down so you work will approach spray-quality. I pour enamel into the pot and add a glug of Penetrol, perhaps a shot per 1-1/2"; you've used too much when the enamel pools where casing meets sill, or when you get runs in your work.

- For cutting-in walls to ceilings, I use 2x12 planks atop 18" tall sawhorses, so I can walk the length of the wall without stopping. I don't use tape, but I'm pretty good with a brush. If you use tape, use blue tape or frogtape, and don't go cheap. Use a 2-1/2" angled sash brush; you'll get about 2' per brushload. Work ahead, then make last pass back toward previous work, so you lift brush off of wet paint (the is the wet edge they mention); use the nearly-empty brush to feather out the edge of your cut-in work (the lower edge if you're doing wall-to-ceiling), so you don't get brush strokes and lap marks.

- Buy good paint and good tools, and take care of them. You'll get MUCH better results.

Sorry to get so windy, but I know how frustrating painting can be for amateurs, and I'm happy to share the licks I stole from some very good painters over the years.
