Not a damn thing wrong with rec leagues. I've read that those travel leagues do not help your kid get scholarships, so there's no real benefit as opposed to the detriment of the constant travel.

It was Intel. i7-6700 4.0 gHz. Thankfully, I had the extended warranty and OriginPC sent me a new one. Unfortunately they had sent me an i7-7700 which didn't work. If I had updated my BIOS beforehand, I would've been able to use the 7700 chip but I had already talked to Origin and they then sent me the correct 6700 chip. Bummer. I could've upgraded!

Maybe, if your son is just in it to have fun and hang out with his friends. But he might grow 3" and gain 30 lbs next year and be ready to compete at a higher level then...if he wants to. Kids develop at different rates and ages, let him grow at his pace, and give him another shot next year if he wants to keep at it.

It's working great now. The temps on the CPU when under heavy gaming load only get to about 48C now.
I also discovered how to set up my own custom fan profile on my GPUs so now they don't get above 65C when gaming at 4K using ultra settings. I'm getting around 119 frames per second.

Good luck Jewells. Shows are exhausting, but can be a lot of fun too. If you go in with a good attitude and low expectations, it really helps. Also, *stand* if at all possible. It makes it easier to make eye contact with those walking by and gives an impression of enthusiasm that sitting just can't match (I *hate* standing, but it makes a huge difference).

Mostly good! The youngest drunken midget sprained her ankle last week during soccer. Finished out the game and scored a goal (stole the ball and went coast to coast) as the game ended. She's mostly pissed because the doc said no PE or soccer this past week.
Her and the eldest drunken midget have dance competition tomorrow. We'll see how she does with the brace on.
The eldest is breaking me with this dance shit. 4 or 5 classes, on the company team, two different competition routines. I'd start selling organs but as a diabetic, no one wants them.

Back in the day when I stayed it seemed more like an adult fun park. Now it seems like a place designed solely to siphon money from anyone who goes there. Lots of nickle and diming and overpriced food places with crappy food.
Had to work to find things we would enjoy.

Seriously ; thinking about doing this but surveillance cameras are an issue,. So many places have them you never know when you are being recorded any more.
What pisses me off is I know 100% for certain this virtue signaling lib has never lifted a finger to help a refugee. On the other hand a number of years ago, I actually did mentor a family of Bosnian refugees for a couple years and got to know them and their refugee community quite well., I never announced it to the the world or made it some symbol of my compassion. I just did it because I was heavily involved in volunteer work at the time and thought it was a good and interesting do, There was no political aspect to it.

It's still an adult fun park, but you're absolutely right about the money siphon. Back in the day, the fun was cheap, and the payoff for them was that you would gamble. So many people came to have the fun, but not gamble (enough), that they went to a different model, involving Dyson's best vacuum cleaner and the currency compartment of your wallet. Still fun, though.
Had to work to find things we would enjoy.
You gotta include getting off the strip, if you want reasonably-priced food and a wider variety of fun. Me, I like walking through the casinos and gaping at people and things, so it suits me fine.

Would a non-compete clause even be enforceable if the performer is fired by the network? Perhaps in the case of another network wanting to hire a star away, which is the main reason for them.

Nice! Last week I snagged a couple of crummy old metal toolboxes from the town dump. Inside the small one: Uniweld brand torch handle, cutting torch, #2 brazing tip, and oxy and acetylene regulators. I cleaned all the stuff up on the wire wheel, and it looks pretty good. Torches need new "O" ring seals, and they ought to work fine.

USAF & RAF figured that out when developing the turbo/supercharged versions of the Merlin engine, as found in the P-51 C and later, as well as the corresponding Spitfire marks.
They too, started with straight Glycol, and made the change to 50/50 not too long after.
IIRC... the 50/50 mix raises the boiling point to 230 or so?
And also has the salutatory benefit of lowering the freezing point, so that not every Northern car or truck suffers exploded hoses, radiators and blown freeze plugs, each and every winter.
One of the Texas City refineries emits one hell of rich Glycol rich fume vent, every now and then.
You can tell, when you see drivers looking for non-existent coolant leaks in their cars n trucks, just to be sure it ain't them!

I'll buy "nearly new" from Craigslist. As you can see, my shop is more house-structure-centric, but I need enough metalworking gear so as to cut/weld/maintain/modify, a farm & ranch trailer, and various steel fencing projects, as they arise.
My skill level with the arc setup is the typical 7018 rod, with 3/16 plain stock, or up to 1/4" stock with proper bead-angles ground in as prep.
I can run a good bead. But not good enough for X-ray inspected, certified work. Just farm and ranch "good enough" work.
Otherwise in the metal department, I have the shears, 4" hand-brake, rivet gun and DO KNOW how to properly "old school" solder seams on sheet metal pieces.
Oh, and a full set of chassis-punches, too.
All of that is in a one car garage, by the way.

Well, ours is a "waste transfer station". The nasty stuff goes into a pair of large bins. There is a metal pile, and a tire pile, and a shed with paints and chemicals, and a bunch of large baskets for electronics recycling. So far, we peons are permitted to "shop" there.
I even got a pair of small motorcycles last year there.

She has motion sickness issues and the "buckboard" that is the truck would make her wish for death after 4.5 hours, so no. I got a rental and discovered that after 30+ years and many technological advancements later, even a 4 cylinder can be adequate performance wise. The downside of such tech? The driving experience to me felt utterly, totaly, numb. So no, I did not like it.
Really, thank you to all the well wishers. This is something that seemed like it would never happen except in fairy tales for me.

I did catch a nice rainbow after the storm the other afternoon here in NE OK. Not bright and not much of an arc, but even a faint one is fun to look at. Ethylene Glycol, the "green" antifreeze or coolant, must be diluted with water for maximum freeze protection. A 50/50 mix is good to -34F below zero. Straight undiluted antifreeze, on the other hand, will freeze at around +10F or so.

Got a CZ-83 (380), surplus (AIM Surplus) a few weeks back - might have mentioned it here.
Anyway, just got it as a toy, and cuz they're out of production, and CZ (first CZ, insh'allah first of several), and cheap.
Liked it so much, looked into it. Out of production. Very few new ones showing up in nation-wide internet search. Understandably popular with concealed-carry folks who don't mind the weight.
So .... was shocked to see a new one in a local store. Probably last one in CA. Bought it. Plan to just put it away, shoot my surplus one. They are ridiculously easy and natural to point and shoot.

What's your course of fire for teaching the new Missus? Which guns?

Half the reason I bought a Ruger MK III pistol was for her to get comfortable with the basics. Once she has that, we move up calibers.
The Kahr CW9 is the softest shooting 9mm Compact I have come across. The Browining High Power in 9mm seems to be a good recoil check for the ladies. If they like it, the Kahr is a shoe in.

terminal ballistics. LuckyGunner has an interesting compilation of
tests, several brands show decent performance on penetration/expansion.

I have to adnit, I really like what Hornady has been doing. They have advanced powder/bullet combos more than anyone else. Hornady FTX and Winchester PDX 1 are my picks these days.
