Her and the eldest drunken midget have dance competition tomorrow. We'll see how she does with the brace on. Snow boots. Work boots. Hiking shoes. Cycling cleats. Sandals. Fuzzy winter slippers. Leather summer house flip-flops. Decent office shoes. A pair of dress shoes. I'm a dude, and I could probably list more, that's just what came to mind. I don't wear sweatpants to a funeral or business khakis to do yard work. Wear the right clothes for the occasion. And none of the shoes are glittery, but I guess if you want to spring for the Krylon, we can work something out.
- Anyway, like I was sayin', shoe is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shoe-kabobs, shoe creole, shoe gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shops, lemon shoe, coconut shoe, pepper shoe, shoe soup, shoe stew, shoe salad, shoe and potatoes, shoe burger, shoe sandwich. That- that's about it. Posted by: Anonosaurus Wrecks, Doctor of Thinkology at April 21, 2017 10:49 PM (Nwg0u) 177

Back in the day, the fun was cheap, and the payoff for them was that you would gamble. So many people came to have the fun, but not gamble (enough), that they went to a different model, involving Dyson's best vacuum cleaner and the currency compartment of your wallet. Still fun, though. Had to work to find things we would enjoy. You gotta include getting off the strip, if you want reasonably-priced food and a wider variety of fun. Me, I like walking through the casinos and gaping at people and things, so it suits me fine. Posted by: Splunge at April 21, 2017 10:56 PM (iMxBJ) 196

So Horde, I'm shitfaced and thinking about my sweet Timmy. It's our 10th anniversary today, and the fourth one I've had to (kind of) celebrate alone. His first grandchild was born yesterday, and I know he's sending his blessings to her from above.
So in honor of my dear departed, I invite you all to visit his website, which I keep alive in his memory. Music, art, photography, etc. Most of his work was unfinished and doesn't appear here. www.timsullivanstudio.com On the "music" page, please note 'Tides' and 'Evergreen.' 50/50 Water/Glycol mix, is a thing.
USAF & RAF figured that out when developing the turbo/supercharged versions of the Merlin engine, as found in the P-51 C and later, as well as the corresponding Spitfire marks. They too, started with straight Glycol, and made the change to 50/50 not too long after. IIRC... the 50/50 mix raises the boiling point to 230 or so? And also has the salutatory benefit of lowering the freezing point, so that not every Northern car or truck suffers exploded hoses, radiators and blown freeze plugs, each and every winter. One of the Texas City refineries emits one hell of rich Glycol rich fume vent, every now and then. You can tell, when you see drivers looking for non-existent coolant leaks in their cars n trucks, just to be sure it ain't them! Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at April 22, 2017 12:00 AM (0deF2) That's a killer score! I'll buy "nearly new" from Craigslist. As you can see, my shop is more house-structure-centric, but I need enough metalworking gear so as to cut/weld/maintain/modify, a farm & ranch trailer, and various steel fencing projects, as they arise. My skill level with the arc setup is the typical 7018 rod, with 3/16 plain stock, or up to 1/4" stock with proper bead-angles ground in as prep. I can run a good bead. But not good enough for X-ray inspected, certified work. Just farm and ranch "good enough" work. Otherwise in the metal department, I have the shears, 4" hand-brake, rivet gun and DO KNOW how to properly "old school" solder seams on sheet metal pieces. Oh, and a full set of chassis-punches, too. All of that is in a one car garage, by the way. Jim Sunk New Dawn Galveston, TX Posted by: Jim at April 22, 2017 12:09 AM (v5iqM) 401

Ethylene Glycol, the "green" antifreeze or coolant, must be diluted with water for maximum freeze protection. A 50/50 mix is good to -34F below zero. Straight undiluted antifreeze, on the other hand, will freeze at around +10F or so.

Thx for asking. Same old only worse, as usual. Less time to play on AoS. Computer problems, too. Running on fumes and faith. Days ending in Y. Recalls the old Procol Harum riff... In the darkness of the night, only occasionally relieved by glimpses of Nirvana as seen through other people's windows, wallowing in a morass of self-despair made only more painful by the knowledge that all I am is of my own making ... When everything around me, even the kitchen ceiling, has collapsed and crumbled without warning. And I am left, standing alive and well, looking up and wondering why and wherefore. Northern lights: never saw them. Think they must be amazing.
Only time we were that far north, it was daylight all night long. I did catch a nice rainbow after the storm the other afternoon here in NE OK. Not bright and not much of an arc, but even a faint one is fun to look at. Bonus, rainbows are predictable - just before sunset, with a storm passing to the East, easy bet there'll be a rainbow -- and we go out to look and, there is! Okay, then, old man. I feel younger already. Your class was always a little weirder than ours ('70). It was like a dividing line. Like beebop and rock, or Elvis and Beatles. Got a CZ-83 (380), surplus (AIM Surplus) a few weeks back - might have mentioned it here. Anyway, just got it as a toy, and cuz they're out of production, and CZ (first CZ, insh'allah first of several), and cheap. Liked it so much, looked into it. Out of production. Very few new ones showing up in nation-wide internet search. Understandably popular with concealed-carry folks who don't mind the weight. So .... was shocked to see a new one in a local store. Probably last one in CA. Bought it. Plan to just put it away, shoot my surplus one. They are ridiculously easy and natural to point and shoot. TKW, I was hoping against hope that the boss (wife) would like the CZ-83 I bought. No semi-auto could be easier to aim and shoot.
So we go to the range last week (it's nice, I'm a volunteer range officer there, so we can open/use ranges any time - private range). "Hurts my hand". WTF? Didn't press the issue. She's just not trying. She's not averse to guns, or shooting. Likes the M-1 carbine (shoots it well), and M ampersand P 22 semi-auto. Also likes snub-nose revolvers (only one she's shot is my Colt Magnum Carry, too rare and valuable to use as a bedside gun). So I'll probably get her to accept an SP101 or a Model 60. I'm going to get a case of the Hornady 90g FTX before the ammo law goes into effect in January - it tested well in LuckyGunner's trials. Vanishingly tiny chance (which is good) the little CZ-83 would ever be used in anger, but ..... nice to know there's decent self-defense ammo for it. hey, anyone interested in the vegas meetup send me an email; me at gmail
when we started this last time we were thinking of August sometime as the rates are lower school has not started so it is convenient for a wide range of people. we were thinking of Vegas cause it is easy for everyone / greatest number of people to get there. of course all this is subject to change. send me an email if you are interested and we will start considering times. OK, I know I'm late to this thread and likely to get willlowed but I would like Teh Horde's perspective on this question. I'm 53 years old (female). If I attempted to switch careers at this point, would my ability to use correct grammar and spelling, write coherently, explain complex ideas in plain language, show good manners and show up on time every day outweigh the demerit of my age in the eyes of a prospective employer?
