O'Reilly Officially Out; Tucker Carlson Moves to 8, "The Five" Moves to Nine

Shouldn't the hire four more people for The Five and call it The Nine?

Terrible joke. What a load.

That's what xhe said, when her penis shot off in his vagina.

Below, two tweets. First, Fox's announcement (noting Eric Bolling will get his own show at 5pm, replacing The Five in that slot).

The second, O'Reilly's statement, issued from a plane as he returns from Italy. He says: "It is tremendously disheartening that we part ways over completely unfounded claims."

These are all things though that society has decided we must believe and pay through the nose when any woman makes these charges.

It's basically SOP for a woman now to say she was beaten by her husband to get a big settlement. Trump's ex wife claimed he raped her then later said she just made that up because her lawyer told her to.

The guy probably is a dirty old man, but I think there would be less scalps taken by the Left if we every once in a while pushed back, even if our side doesn't have just saints.

115 I think people are missing the big picture. The left is actively conducting opposition research to silence the voices they dislike. Making sexual harassment claims is an easy ploy. Ailes and OReilly had to start things with their own failings, but the Left seized the opportunity to ratchet things up. But for Jeb Bush's leaking of the Access Hollywood tape, they wold have done the same to Trump. The plan was to have the tape be the evidence that proved the women were telling the truth.

But yes, the 15 years ago was a huge red flag and shows the hubris and pride of Oreilly that he was a sacred cow in his own eyes. He does sound like a POS in real life. Also after that settlement 15 or so years ago, Oreiily stopped being Oreilly from the late 90's.

At the end of the day this is his fault. He had the resources to protect himself and he did not. He had the chances to protect himself and he did not. Zero excuses for not doing so. He should have known better after the first incident.

139 With apologies to Rudyard Kipling:

It is often a temptation, to pick a corporation
and have your lawyers call them up and say:
'Your anchor touched my hiney, and I'm feeling very whiny,
unless you pay me cash to go away!'

And that is called asking for Dame-geld
and the people that ask it explain
That you've only to pay them the Dame-geld
and then you'll get rid of the Dame!

It is often a temptation, for a giant corporation
to huff and look important and to say:
"Though we know we've done no wrong, a court fight would take too long.
We will therefore pay you cash to go away!"

And that is called paying the Dame-geld
But we've proved it again and again
That once you have paid out the Dame-geld
You never get rid of the Dame!

It is wrong to give a portion, for a barrister's extortion
For fear they should succumb and go astray.
So when you are requested to pay up or be molested
You will find it better policy to say:

"We never pay ANYONE Dame-geld,
no matter how trifling the cost.
For the end of that game is oppression and shame
and the one who pays it is lost!"

LOL. O'Reilly was the one who really got her started in the big-time, there. He started bringing her on all the time and gave her more exposure than she ever would have gotten doing anything else at Fox. It was from there that she really started to get the choice gigs and finally her own show. Kelly owed O'Reilly a ton for what he did for her .. and he gave her carte blanche, basically, for her bits on his show.

Posted by: ThePrimordialOrderedPair at April 19, 2017 05:44 PM (zc3Db)

212 >>>7 It's as if they don't understand 'Number One Show', or the word 'Profit'.

the problem was that 60 (I think) advertisers deserted the show, which probably cuts a lot into "profit." You'd have to sell ads for cheaper than his audience would usually command.

Also, I think Fox knows that Fox viewers are loyal to Fox, and that it doesn't take the greatest broadcaster on earth to get good ratings. Hannity's been huge, and while I'm not saying he's bad, I would say he's not scary-gifted as a broadcaster.

Also, the 8pm timeslot is itself a very good timeslot.

That said -- it's gonna be hard to replace an institution and your number one guy.

Tucker Carlson is great, but he's not O'Reilly. I don't mean that in a bad way; I like Carlson much more. BUt he's not the same guy. They're not interchangeable widgets. O'Reilly was a blustering "Man of the People" populist who played to a different cohort than Carlson. I don't think Carlson will keep more than 80% of O'Reilly's audience.

Not because he's not as good as O'Reilly, but because he's just different. Different appeal to different people.

What a ride for Carlson, though. He went from being a weekend morning host (worst fulltime job at Fox!) to now being the de facto face of the entire network.

They are not paid by Soros... they have been paid by Fox...

Fox has paid MILLIONS of dollars this year alone to settle accusations against both Bill O, and Roger Ailes.

Allegations that most juries would have thrown out, as they have no corroboration either with other witnesses, documentation, nor concrete actions....

But Fox settled them.... even though really weak...

Guess what, when you REWARD people for cheating... for making false accusations... you will get more false accusations...

Fox is pretty much done now... the Libs and rest of the media have managed to take them down (with the help of the owners Sons).

Posted by: mallfy the politically correct at April 19, 2017 05:31 PM (b7fwp)

Oh yeah. It was long known that Packwood was a horndog. Of course he was the sort that attracted the usual bimbos because of his position, and he made the most of it. But he was a reliable pro-abortion vote in the Senate, so no one cared. Think Teddy Kennedy, but with the "wrong" letter after his name. (And at least Packwood didn't kill any of the girls he was giving the high hard one to; at least he had that going for him, unlike Teddy.)

Then along came some female who wanted his slot in the Senate, and after all those years of his boinking all those perfectly-willing bimbos, the usual suspects whipped out their little files on Packwood and suddenly he became this horrid serial poor, put upon woman sexual abuser and of course his career was over.

He's repetitive to the point of torture.

He's not very bright. It's painful to listen to him attempt to debate someone. He cannot make a point or think on his feet; his schtick is limited to regurgitating the same talking points over and over.

Which, again, is repetitive.

Sometimes one of his talking points is actually a decent point, and every once in a great while, by chance, it will actually stand in as a thoughtful rebuttal to someone else's point in a debate.

But for the most part listening to Hannity is a painful exercise in cringing as he mangles and misses opportunity after opportunity while reciting the same litany he says every day, with little variation.

I'm surprised that Eric Bolling is getting his own show; I know I suggested that in the last thread but that is the last thing I thought would happen. FOX is turning so left and Bolling is so pro Trump, I'm surprised they are rewarding that. I purposely tried to catch the Five after Trump won so I cold see Eric crow about being right about him. Strange for lefties to reward that, unless they are setting him up to fail?

After being on the receiving end of multiple sexual harrassment claims (regardless of their merit) O Reilly should have known better.

How hard is it to remember not to poo where you eat, or not to schedule private meetings with women? Even if we assume that the gist of this story is false (and it appears to be) O Reilly still screwed up here.

FWIW, now off FOX, O'Reilly probably isn't going to settle this case.

The goal here is to destroy and marginalize any voice of dissent from the view that liberalism is the only respectable ideology. We should be embarrassed and ashamed of anyone that differs.

Posted by: SMFH at April 19, 2017 05:53 PM (s5Kql)

Yeah, a friend of mine was telling me that her husband was developing a close relationship with a woman at work. They didn't "do" anything, but only because she found out about it and demanded that he stop it completely. She was weighing over whether or not to make him leave and live somewhere else while they "thought it over." They were high school sweethearts and have maybe 25 years invested in each other.

My initial reaction was "wtf, why are you throwing this away?!"

I drew her out, got more of the details, and voila! Turns out she's been making him take a backseat to every damn thing going on in their lives. He wants a hug but she's got to vacuum or some other dumb shit, or one of her daughters has some drama that has to be dealt with first.

I told her that unless one of the kids is bleeding out, her relationship with her husband should come ahead of everything else. "You and he are the life support system for your children, not only to provide food and shelter, but the example of a healthy relationship and what love looks like, how it's done. And for that reason he always, always should come first. Just like on an airplane, you put your own oxygen mask on first, and THEN help the kids."

I asked her if he was selfish or unreasonable (no). "Then what I'm saying holds. You've alienated him to the point where to feel important, heard, cared for, he enters into a dangerously close relationship with another woman. So don't place yourself in the role of the injured party. You played a BIG part in this."

We are no longer friends. No confrontation - she just stopped returning my calls. Some women don't like hearing the truth from their girlfriends - all they want is validation that they're the injured party.

Spoken like someone who has never had an asshole at work ask him out 5 times a day for weeks, despite being told no EVERY. FUCKING. TIME. A married man, no less.

Or had a boss who thought it was just hysterical to bring in frozen chocolate covered bananas on Administrative Assistant Day, and have all the "girls" eat them while he was giving his little speech.

Etc etc etc.

I have no opinion one way or the other on Bill; I'm sure he's guilty as hell but I also think it's partly a witch hunt and partly that the Murdochs are wanting to clean house.

But I do think some men don't realize how they're coming across, or else they do and simply do not give a shit and that IS harassment.

Another one you guys will turn on in an instant is Ann Coulter.
Posted by: Soothsayer 45 at April 19, 2017 06:14 PM (/MtvT)

Because they, to one degree or another, are showmen. They make spectacle. O'Reilly's schtick is barking over guests, Coulter's is "lookit me DADDY AREN'T I SO OUTRAGEOUS", and eh... I guess I don't mind Hannity, but I'd rather watch something else. They can make good arguments, which is why it's frustrating when they don't.

I don't agree with them all the time (and one sounds like Frank Oz with a blender up his ass), but I'd rather listen to Ingraham and Levin. If they make an argument, it's pretty clear that they know the material.

That's not the point. I can't stomach any of the crew on Fox, but it's going to become yet another left-wing outlet thanks to the Murdoch boys and one of their wives. Seems they're embarrassed by it.

So after they take out Fox, which is the closest thing to a conservative outlet for old folks who aren't politically engaged and computer illiterate, they start going after talk radio. Is there anyone you like on talk radio? There's blood in the water and the left is feeling frisky over O'Blowhard getting dumped.

Then if they put their shoulder to the wheel can they figure out how to stop the conservative indies who are streaming their own networks after they bring back the Fairness Doctrine under a "D" president?

I agree with you 100% about men being clueless or not giving a shit about how they come across pushing the sexual envelope.

Not bragging, but I'm a handsome looking man. Now that I'm back in shape, I look like I'm in my 20's. Women are aggressive and very sexual with me and other men who are handsome or attractive. This has been a huge problem and caused many relationship problems with the girlfriends that I had. It's not ok to grab my dick because you want you or feel up my entire body while talking especially when I have a girlfriend present. I have boundries to. I was used for sex until age 26 and that is what I was taught was my value to women and it fucked me up when I realized what was going on. I wanted a normal relationship and not to be that day fucker or boy toy on he side.

Also I think that it's super wrong when they act this way, and some guy who does not meet their standards approaches them, and they get offended they they feel justified and encourages by other women in ruining that mans life with a phony accustaion.

I also blame our hyper sexualized culture.

You see, when Pa Kushner was in jail Jared took over the successful family real estate business which had a suburban NJ orientation with nothing in NYC.

Jared then bought 666 Fifth for $1.8 billion, which was a whopping price of $1,200 a square foot, twice the prior record of $600 for the MetLife building that adjoins Grand Central Terminal. This deal keeps getting worse for the Kushners. It won't bankrupt them but they may lose a boatload of invested equity.

Word is that Jared's admission to Harvard was greased by Pa Kushner making a $2.5 million donation.

Men are always in the mood. Women who have children are generally tired and distracted and worried about something.

I blame Women's Lib for a lot of this, because working outside the home really adds to the tired/distracted/worried factor, I think.

But I think hormones are the main culprit.

Mid 30's. Yes. Absolutely. At night at bars and clubs or concerts. All the fucking time sine I was 18. My age group and younger are aggressive and hyper sexual.

Imagine when I had a girlfriend or a date out and some girl walks by and grabs my dick, tells me she wants me to fuck her brains out right now in the bathroom, and tries to drag me along to the bathroom by my dick. Now that is the aggressive extreme, but dick grabbing and dancing on your dick trying to make it hard and them turning around to grab it is common. Fuck that shit. And if my date and girlfriend sees it from a far or walks up on it taking it out of context, it destroys the relationship.

Feminists believe that all men are objects that they can do whatever the hell that they want to them. If they want sex from you them they will grab your dick and demand it like you owe it to them. Same with money or anything that they want.

It is terrifying and a freaking nightmare.

423 but I do need to be in the mood!

Men are always in the mood.

And THERE'S the difference. Not being mean, mad, snarky or upset.

When guys get caught cheating, and they say it didn't mean nuthin'?It's because it didn't. Men don't have to attach an emotional "bond" to the person or the act. It's not that they are always in the mood, it just sometimes, it's a physical act. Not "lovemaking". Not bonding. Just getting your ashes hauled.

And women can't understand that.

Ladies, when was the last time you "did it" just to have an orgasm?

425 I'm not a fan of Jared. He may not be the uber-talent FIL Donald makes him out to be.

426 It's unfortunate that this happened to O'Reilly. In a better world Fox would actually be staunchly conservative and committed to resisting this sort of pressure from SJWs. In practice it ain't so. Hopefully O'Reilly will have a second act in a medium where he has real frinds.

As a sports official, coach and occasional substitute teacher for all ages of kids, I have to say that this is my nightmare scenario. So doors are always open, and I'll leave the room if I find myself with only one kid, boy or girl. The only time I'm alone with a kid I'm coaching is in the middle of a football field where anyone can see what's going on.

There's no way to unfuck yourself from getting charged with a false allegation. Full court defense all the time is the only way to go.

Doesn't work that way. You get the physical part right and the men will be happy. It just needs to move, look, and feel right, and if it can do the laundry, bonus. Women on the other hand will want romance, and conversation. I'm not saying it can't be done, but it will be a much later, much more advanced model. Say at least 10 years down the road, maybe 20.

441 I imagine O'Reilly tried to get him some. On more than one occasion.

But what was said earlier is what I believe: Men should NEVER be alone with a female, and they should record everything. (And needless to say, never try to get you some.)

Because all it takes is for several women to claim something, and the man goes down. (Assuming he is a conservative.)

This is indeed war.

I, personally, liked O'Reilly okay, even when I knew more about something than he did. I don't watch the five anymore really - it's kind of too silly, I guess, for long-term viewing. Tucker is okay. That female at 7 - forget it. I like Hannity! Yes, I do! But they'll go after him next.

Really, he was the linchpin for everything for nighttime Fox, whether you liked him or not. He was sort of the anchor for it all.

442 You know what, in graduate school I had an individual class with a professor. Just him and me, called individual studies or something.

At one point earlier in the semester, I said, "You've got some chalk on your mouth." And he said, "Kiss it off."

Well, I was shocked as all get-out. I made an excuse and left, and never returned. I didn't care about the grade even!

Come the end of the semester, he had given me an A.

But hey, I didn't hate him or anything. I would never have tried to get him fired. After all, it is at base kind of a compliment. It's not like he hit me or anything.

It was bad, yes. I'm just saying, I'm not vindictive because a professor found me attractive. Things are different now. There is much antagonism between the sexes now, at least in the public eye. I hope it doesn't affect younger women adversely, to the point where they can't have normal relationships because they have been taught they are strong, superior, oppressed, and all that rot. But I fear it will.

I'm glad I wasn't the mother of boys.
