New Book: Hillary Is Even More Awful Than You Thought

From Hot Air, an excerpt of an upcoming book previewed in The Hill called Shattered: Inside Hillary Clinton's Doomed Campaign.

The blame belonged to her campaign team, she believed, for failing to hone her message, energize important constituencies and take care of business in getting voters to the polls. And now, Jake Sullivan, her de facto chief strategist, was giving her lip about the last answer she'd delivered in the prep session.

"That's not very good," Sullivan corrected.

"Really?" Hillary snapped back.

The room fell silent.

"Why don’t you do it?"

The comment was pointed and sarcastic, but she meant it. So for the next 30 minutes, there he was, pretending to be Hillary while she critiqued his performance.

Every time the Yale lawyer and former high school debate champ opened his mouth, Hillary cut him off. "That isn’t very good," she’d say. "You can do better." Then she'd hammer him with a Bernie line.

What a peach.

When NeverTrump jumped the shark, continuing their (perfectly acceptable) primary opposition to Trump into general election season, most of them passive-aggressively supporting Clinton while claiming they were doing no such thing, one flaw of Trump they'd frequently point to was his characterological defects, his inability to take criticism, his anger, his autocratic impulses, and so on.

All of which was worth a worry or two -- but his opponent was Hillary Clinton, a walking (or stumbling) personality disorder.

But it was "binary thinking" to point that out, or to treat the election as if it were a "binary choice" between one flawed candidate who promised to nominate conservative judges and another flawed candidate who vowed to nominate progressive judges.

35 Her treatment of the military when she was FLOTUS was particularly despicable. The guy who carried Billy Jeff's nuclear football (I believe his name was Patterson) wrote a book about the Clinton's and how awful they both were.

Princess Chelsea once forgot her book bag when they traveled to some vacation destination, and the Beast had a screaming, cursing fit at some poor flunkies and demanded that they send for the Princess' book bag. Had the damned thing flown to them.

And of course, it wasn't Chelsea's own fault/forgetfulness. It was the military aides' faults.

114 I have just never understood the devotion to the Clintons in general. Bill was a so so governer who had the guts to run against Bush Senior. He won due to a slumping economy and 12 years of one party. The economy never took off until 1994 when the House and Senate changed to the Repubs.

Hillary used the Lewinski scandal to win a seat on the senate with no experience at all, In her Senate term I think she introduced very few bills and had a large staff which was a precusor to run for President. She probably could have won the 2004 election, but wanted to avoid the look of carpet. bagging. I think she voted in 2004 for Bush so she would not have to give John Kerry a primary run in 2008. Sec of State was a disaster, asd Obama strpped responsibilities from her using the Czars.

190 I have no doubt that this has been pointed out before but I don't get to read the comments much. Among people I know, the never Trumpers tended to be politically oriented such that they seemed more concerned with the Republican Party than the nation as a whole. They seemed to me to have their feelings hurt that Trump was stealing the party and they were pissed. They were willing to lose the election, and the country, in order to reclaim the party. Another aspect of the establishment types.

Simon and Schuster have to have a colossal warehouse somewhere out in the boonies which is stuffed with all of the unsold hardback editions of _Hard Choices_. There were a hell of a lot. It was a massive print run.

I imagine the place looking something like the cavernous dimly-lit government storage facility at the end of _Raiders of the Lost Ark_.

They expected that Hilldawg would be a shoo-in, and then she'd have the same racket going which Barack Obama had run as President, having the fedgov buy up enormous numbers of copies of the President's books at list price, at public expense, for distribution abroad via the State Department.

Except now they're stuck.

(In fact, I've been predicting since 20087 that she will run for president in 2020 or 2024. Now it seems even more likely.)

The funny part? If there's one person on this planet who's an even bigger bitch than Hillary, it is Kamala Harris. I know people who worked for her and they say she is a human monster.

"In her ear the whole time, spurring her on to cast blame on others and never admit to anything, was her husband. Neither Clinton could accept the simple fact that Hillary had hamstrung her own campaign and dealt the most serious blow to her own presidential aspirations."

So what that means is good ole Billy himself was the key help in keeping Hillary out of office?!

That's exactly it.

There was a study of campaign ads a while back.

Hillary ran more personal-only ads (attack) than the last 7 Presidential candidates _combined_.

The average was like less than 10% and she'd ran over 60% of her ads largely attacking Trump.

The "most accomplished person to ever run for President" ran the least amount of policy-only ads of any candidate ever.

But, I'd expect nothing less from the person who coined the phrase "politics of personal destruction."

Plus there's that sticky wicket of her losing her law license. The details of that would surely (?) come out, and I don't think she wants that to happen. As it is, she can still live well off the money from their 8 years in the White House, without having to do anything.

My thought is that the Democrat pols will unify with whoever is selected to run in the general election, as per the way they did over Obamacare, even when push came to shove.

As for voters, the scary thing is that 45-50% of the voters on the free stuff train will pull the "D" lever no matter who runs. It could be Charles Manson. Republican support is much more fickle.

Given all the dynamics, I think this may truly be our last chance to get it right. There is a huge amount riding on Trump's shoulders.

She is loved by the media and I expect that she'll have a relaxing, part-time career in tv, such as her guest judging on Master Chef. Why subject yourself to the grind or elective office - all of the fundraising, campaigning, meeting with lobbyists and constituents, bartering w/fellow Congressmen, etc. - when you can live comfortably and occasionally drop by a tv show's set for a little confidence boost and very little work?

My Dad used to say that about the Irish; and, he was right. It's probably true about most Europeans.

I know it's willowed, but I have long had a theory that one of the things that has made America great was that we were genetically and culturally superior to the Old World. Our ancestors were the risk-takers, the hard workers, who lived by their wits and not by accident of birth. They fought to protect their homes and families and to make a world for themselves in the wilderness. They were simply superior human beings to the ones they left behind.
