Fake News Outlets Now Pushing Jewish Conspiracy Theories Thick With Anti-Semitic Overtones

Check out the near-Nazi-caricature silhouettes Politico included with their first Tweet about their article.

Bethany Mandel explains the conspiracy, or at least tries to, confessing that she's read it several times and still doesn't understand what it is that Politico is alleging.

Politico took great pains to tie the Chabad movement to Putin, and in so doing, omits a few fairly crucial points that could have been fleshed out by actually speaking with a representative of the movement... While there are outposts of the movement in Russia, there also exist outposts everywhere else in the world. Their emissaries, called schulchim, are technically titled "messengers" because they talk to anyone, anywhere, in an attempt to spread Judaism to Jews in far-flung corners of the Earth.

Chabad's history in the former USSR is filled with persecution, arrest, and exile. To survive anywhere, but especially in a land as hostile to Jews as Russia is, it's no wonder the group has worked hard to remain in the government's good graces.

Blind to the blatant anti-Semitic tropes it trotted out, Politico then paints the movement as a large, rich, tightly woven organization, a depiction straight out of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. In reality, individual Chabad houses, which start with seed money from headquarters, are soon expected to be self-sufficient through fundraising and operate as franchises, not as branches of the Brooklyn headquarters. (Disclosure: This is why I am a nominal monthly donor to the Chabad of Cambodia, which provides essential services to Jewish residents and visitors to the country, from free holiday and Sabbath meals to burials to weddings.)

Jared Kushner also donated to Chabad, ergo, Jews are using the Slavs against you and you are left defenseless. (To quote the Blues Brothers Illinois Nazi leader, approximately.)

Or something.

Fun, err, not fun fact...in the early 50s Uncle Joe decided that the Jewish population in the USSR was a problem and was going to use the same methods as his former ally in Germany to "solve the issue".

Judaism has been pretty good about surviving as a separate culture even when surrounded by other cultures, which is historically unusual.

This means they exist as a convenient, and essentially permanent, scapegoat.

This is exacerbated by the fact that each new despot looking to distract his population can use the same propaganda that his predecessors have used, making it far, far too easy...

It goes ever further back than that. At least to the early 30s, if not further. It's just that in contrast with the Nazis, Stalin was using methods that were at once more efficient (famine) and extremely manpower-intensive (beatings, hangings, firing squads). You know, old-school.

246 Ive always wondered what a smikin hot number like Blondie saw in a goofy dufus like Dagwood.

In the beginning (1930), Dagwood was a rich kid and Blondie Boopadoop was a flirty flapper. When Dagwood told his parents he was going to marry Blondie, they cut off his inheritance.

Josh Fruhlinger of The Comics Curmudgeon has a theory that Dagwood's boss, J.C. Dithers, is actually his father, which explains why Dagwood can sleep at his desk every day and never get fired.

Another mystery is how Dagwood's bumbling neighbor Herb ended up with a hot betty like wife Tootsie.

247 Bethany Mandel explains the conspiracy, or at least tries to, confessing that she's read it several times and still doesn't understand what it is that Politico is alleging.

++++

Perhaps I can help. First, Politico isn't alleging a conspiracy. They are attemting to document political and business relationships. That's it. Of course, I suspect they would be entirely content if others used these relationships to come up with some conspiracy theories, but Politico does none of that. BTW, here's a link to the first version of the article archived at the Wayback Machine.

http://tinyurl.com/m6m32ae

Mandel also suggests that Politico glosses over the international aspect of Chabad. That seems hard to reconcile with this paragraph from Politico.

Founded in Lithuania in 1775, the Chabad-Lubavitch movement today has adherents numbering in the five, or perhaps six, figures. What the movement lacks in numbers it makes up for in enthusiasm, as it is known for practicing a particularly joyous form of Judaism.

I could go on and on about how full of shit Mandel is, but anyone can just read the piece for themselves. There's not one anti-Semitic word in the whole thing.

264 Members of the Jewish community at Tufts University say they were deeply disturbed when a sudden boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) resolution was voted upon in the student senate just days before Passover.

But the vote was passed during a contentious four-hour meeting of the Tufts Community Union Senate according to Tufts Daily. The hearing drew nearly 100 students, some of whom expressed their dismay over the resolution during a question-and-answer period.

A vote was then held at the end of the marathon hearing session with 17 in favor, six opposed and eight abstentions.

284 247 Bethany Mandel explains the conspiracy, or at least tries to, confessing that she's read it several times and still doesn't understand what it is that Politico is alleging.

++++

There's not one anti-Semitic word in the whole thing.

so now the guy who was dragged off has extra cause of action because UAL aggravated his existing psychiatric condition.

I know when we purchase airline tickets we agree to their terms and conditions, one of them being that due to overbooking a ticketholder could be bounced from their flight.

However, I doubt there's anything in UAL's 45 page contract that allows for the physical abuse of an incalcitrant passenger. This situation could have been handled so many ways that would not have put UAL in the international spotlight, once again.

IMO it's just another example of how we live in a two-tier society. In this case it's the UAL employees' needs that trump the PAYING passenger's needs. It's so obvious that airline personnel from the top down have an Us v. Them mentality.

Fuck UAL and the dilapidated POS they flew in on.

No, he wasn't. Particularly in post 9/11 America, if an airline tells you to get off the plane, you get off the plane. Doesn't matter why. Refusing to do so could mean all sorts of things, including that you may want to light your damned shoes on fire and getting off the plane might curtain that.

Read the contract. You signed it by purchasing a ticket. Contract says that you may be denied your seat for any reason the airline says.

Pick a bone with that contract, not with the airline personnel who are doing their damned job. Any pilot, at any time, can use his or her discretion to remove any passenger for any reason. Period. Guy didn't listen, guy got removed.

I know when we purchase airline tickets we agree
to their terms and conditions, one of them being that due to
overbooking a ticketholder could be bounced from their flight.

However, I doubt there's anything in UAL's 45 page contract that
allows for the physical abuse of an incalcitrant passenger. This
situation could have been handled so many ways that would not have put
UAL in the international spotlight, once again.

IMO it's just another example of how we live in a two-tier society.
In this case it's the UAL employees' needs that trump the PAYING
passenger's needs. It's so obvious that airline personnel from the top
down have an Us v. Them mentality.

Fuck UAL and the dilapidated POS they flew in on.

In this case, the cops had no right or reason to arrest. It is not their job to enforce United's contracts (assuming their terms and conditions allowed them to bump someone once they are on the plane... which I don't think they do).

401 Of course the cops aren't always right.

But as my old drivers ed teacher said regarding having the right of way "you'll be right, dead right"

What lawful order? Obviously it wasn't lawful or the cop wouldn't be in trouble for dragging him off.

403 307 Yes, I'm thin and neat, and seem to be a lifelong bachelor, but that doesn't imply anything!

Mark Trail's been married to Cherry for about a zillion years. He lives with her, his father-in-law, and his and Cherry's (hideously deformed*) adopted son, Rusty.

Now, whether or not Mark and Cherry ever have actual sex is a very good question. But he's not a lifelong bachelor.

I heard that a few years ago he was under review by the Tennessee
medical board due to a patient complaint. The guy went in for chest
pains and the doctor gave him a genital exam, stalked him and offered
him drugs for sex.

410 And just to be clear....I think United could have handled it about 100 different ways than they did. It's a PR disaster that going to affect their bottom line. Would have been a WHOLE lot cheaper to up their offer to have other people take them up on it.

413 NGU @ 153- I'm pretty sure the Eromeros are part Jewish probably from late 1700's-early 1800's. My meaning is for American Jews to wake up, and to say plainly I, and others here, can be counted on to be on their side. I should be equally plain that the media is not on their side. And, as a retired Chief who had a chisel driven into one of his sinuses by a Navy dentist, I still love you man.

Huh? I didn't even post on this the first couple hundred times it was discussed. I could give a shit. I've already said both sides are stupid and that the whole episode illustrates why deescalation is a lost art. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. If you think that's glee, you're using a broad definition.

420 America's motto: Never to engage in war that is not in Israel's national interest.

Well I guess I could be wrong, since the number of ancient Christian communities have been getting so much more numerous and prosperous in the Middle East ever since Team America went in there and started kickin' ass!

Lots of goyim by the tens of thousands have been getting hacked to death with machetes in Zimbabwe and South Africa for 20+ years. I guess this is an acceptable way to be murdered?

Oh, you haven't seen the pictures? OK, well, that makes sense then.

421 Classic MSM trick. Conservatives are calling out and voicing valid concerns over Ivanka and Jared's Elitist and Establishment Dim/leftist leanings and connections they have brought into the White House.

To shut down any of these concerns even from Jewish conservatives, they throw out this ridiculous crap to frame the argument with the monopoly on the news.

Most people don't think Ivanka and Jared are malicious or nefarious, they are very naive through. They also seem to seek acceptance in their tight elitist and establishment Dim circles.

425 Making web banners is a (small) part of my job. Even though it's a task in which I don't put a lot of thought, I put more thought into it than to create that web banner from Politico.

But, let's pretend that I (unconsciously) missed this badly. Like most people, I have a trusted superior-that-isn't-technically-my-boss. She would catch this, arch an eyebrow, and send me back for a new stock selection.

But, let's pretend that she also missed this badly. I have an actual art director, and he would burn me down for this, and send me back for a new stock selection. It never would have made it to publication.

Politico's staff is either endemically incompetent, or racist. I'll leave it to y'all to decide.
