Congressional Intelligence Committees Sources: The Intelligence Community Is Stonewalling Us On Demands for Information About Surveillance and Unmasking

This is dereliction of duty and insubordination (given that Trump is now their boss, and I presume has ordered them to cooperate). If Trump hasn't made it clear yet, he should: Any further stonewalling is a firing offense and will in fact result in a speedy firing for cause.

I don't even see how a court could overrule him on that.

It's time to put Obama's minions on notice.

"Our requests are simply not being answered," one House Intelligence committee source told Fox News. "The agencies are not really helping at all and there is truly a massive web for us to try and wade through."

A source in the Senate Intelligence Committee had a similar story.

"Any information that will help find the wide extent on the unmasking and surveillance is purposely not being provided," the source said.

The NSA has denied a failure to cooperate -- on their part. But it's been said before by Nunes (I think) that the NSA is cooperative.

The Daily Caller article does not note any similar denials from the CIA and Comey's FBI.

If people in those organizations were complicit in Rice's (and her buddies') unmasking of US persons in reports later leaked to the press -- substituting her politicized claims of need-to-know for their own initial decisions about masking -- then they have their own asses to protect on this, don't they?

At some point Trump has to make it clear that he is in fact the President and will act as one -- including summary termination of insubordinate and/or actually criminal employees -- or the Permanent Swamp will make it clear that they are the ones in charge, and Trump isn't really President. Obama still is.

And if Trump doesn't do that, then he deserves the fate he'll be getting when he's hounded out of office or leaked into electoral defeat in 2020.

6 I'm hearing from the people newly in charge of various agencies that the deep state are interfering and stone walling everything. No one is trustworthy. They're having trouble getting anything done at all and looking for people they can pull in on detail (short term) to get things set up and done.

7 I have no doubt that members of the intelligence community would say that they are concerned that any info they give to Repub members of Congress would be used for political purposed.

although I'm sure the members of the IC community would be more than willing to cooperate if the Repubs put Susan Rice in charge of any investigation.

The senior Secret Service agent who said quite openly that she was not going to take a bullet for the new POTUS should have been stripped of sidearm and identification, and firmly escorted by security off of federal premises, after being notified that she was terminated for cause without pension vesting.

Instead, Trump fires Mike Flynn.

63 So the Daily Caller has this from the NSA:

The NSA pushed back, issuing a statement that said, "Allegations that the National Security Agency is 'withholding information' from congressional intelligence committees investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election are categorically untrue."

I think the Daily Caller is making a mistake to include this in a story about the leaking of classified materials to Washington Post reporters. ( Specifically the Flynn conversations with the Russian Ambassador.) That--I would assume-- is a different, and separate investigation--and the NSA does not refer to that at all in the comment that The Daily Caller references here in the article.

I need to go find some cute kittehs.

We've got plenty of time. The committees investigating this are permanent, they never go away. Gorsuch gets approved tomorrow, a deal on healthcare will arrive either tomorrow or after the Easter break (and then we go to the Senate and this starts all over again) and then comes tax reform and it's actually being negotiated as we speak behind closed doors.

TRANSFER...../ALL perfectly legal and quite doable.....THAT approach

I learned a fascinating fact recently.

At Justice, the focal node of publicly funded rabble-rousing and race-baiting under color of authority is the neutral-sounding "Community Relations Service". Which did such a great job with "community relations" in, say, Ferguson.

It's a relic of the LBJ era. Part of the original 1964 Civil Rights Act.

It was originally stipulated to be part of the Commerce Department, by the act in question, for reasons which baffle me, but Johnson promptly used an executive order to move it over to DOJ. Where that office has been engaging in massive lefty agitprop and ongoing Hatch Act violations ever since.

So if we've got precedent for Presidents moving legislatively created sub-agencies around, from one of Fedzilla's departments to another, on personal whim, that opens up many, many opportunities for monkeywrenching the federal bureaucracy.

Oh hai! Just to let you know that you're now going to be part of the org chart over at Weights and Measures. Which is itself being relocated to North Dakota next month.

176 Words are not going to solve this.

If Susan Rice committed illegal acts as an employee of the Federal Government. Those illegal acts being violations of the laws put in place (by a democrat controlled congress) back in the seventies to protect anti-war protest groups (democrats) from 'spying' by the CIA when there was legitimate suspicion that those same radical activists organizations had secret ties to agents of foreign government, and if Susan Rice is not prosecuted for those illegal acts and does not spend time in prison, then we have become Venezuela without the food shortages.

If Susan Rice skates away from these accusations then the law, the courts, and the constitution have become nothing but tools to be used by the democrats to crush their political opponents.

If the democrats get away with this, without consequence, then Scooter Libby went to prison for being a republican.

Remember Col. Oliver North? Forced to testify against himself in public before congress, under threat of Contempt of Congress or Perjury; stripped of his constitutional rights under the fifth amendment. Forced to confess his sins in the same way Mao's Red Guard purged anyone not sufficiently loyal to the Chairman; then prosecuted by an 'independent prosecutor' who pinky swear, cross my heart and hope to die, claims to not have seen North's congressional testimony, read about it in the news, or talked about any of it in the office because they already had 'leads' to evidence they would use in court to prosecute and convict.

If Susan Rice, and any other democrat escapes investigation, prosecution, and conviction then this is no longer the United States I was told about in high school civics class, and Obama's scheme to fundamentally transform the US has succeeded.

194 More believable than Obama spying on ALL the GOP candidates is the idea that one or more of the other GOP candidates was in on the spying of Trump--or was aware of it....
Posted by: JoeF

how does that even make sense?

Inartfully put, but basically it wouldn't surprise me if certain GOP candidates weren't unaware that Trump was being spied on.
I admit there is no evidence for saying that, but I'll go to my grave believing that the Bush's and the Mormons had a hand in the release of that "grab 'em by the pussy" tape that was designed to get Trump out of the race once and for all....

so approaching a gop primary candidate to solicit his participation in surveilling Trump makes sense for obama or the candidate? the risks for participating in this are immense and the rewards are miniscule. obama is able to spy on everyone with near impunity so why go to the opposition?

gop candidate getting caught would more or less spontaneously combust in return for what? no one ever got their hand on anything useful to run against Trump. the most damaging thing to run against Trump was leaked vid from nbc.

242 To prosecute a conspiracy you first break lower level minions and work your way up.

In the first go round you love crimes that are simple to charge: heroin possession; taking a known classified document off a secure system and putting it on an unsecure system; taking a known classified document and giving it to a reporter.

You don't give minions immunity. You tell them they're going to jail unless they rat on a higher up.

You don't limit your investigation to a narrow subset of what the possible crimes are -- you follow where the evidence leads. You also keep the targets guessing.

The DOJ/FBI investigation of Hillary broke all these rules and more -- on purpose.

He has more than enough direct statements to go after mayors of sanctuary cities for aiding and abetting illegals to stay...

He also has enough to indict Rice, under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (she only has 24 hours after unmasking to get a warrant, she did not)...

Not really. They held him in contempt, first time ever for an AG.

Yes, the could have impeached him. I expect that would have worked out about as well as the calls to impeach Trump will. Probably worse.

Every day proves that the Obama regime was every bit as corrupt as we knew it was but we only know that because Trump is now in charge and information is finally starting to come out. None of that would have come out under Obama.

Our system wasn't built for people like Obama and his corrupt administration. A lot depends on honest people of goodwill. Not to mention a media that is also honest and not playing for the other team. Hillary Clinton's crimes were obvious to the entire country and she came within inches of being elected President. This is what we are up against.

This was never going to be easy. We are fighting an entrenched bureaucracy, a corrupt Democrat Party and an equally corrupt media and that doesn't even include a pretty dumbed down populace.

With someone as balls to the walls as Trump I think we have a shot but it is going to take a while. I'm not expecting overnight miracles.

I was pointing out a couple of weeks ago that the New Iraqi Army's ultra super duper special anti-jihadi force, expensively trained and equipped by Uncle Sugar, went into Mosul and got mauled. No longer combat effective.

And I gently broached the question of, um, NOW who gets to bell the cat? Because the Iraqi regulars certainly aren't up to that job. They can barely tie their own shoes.

Since then it's come out that the number of American "advisors" in Iraq is up to ten thousand (!). So it's pretty safe to say that there are U.S. service members doing hands-on "advising" in Mosul right now.

The lay ministers should cut off the ties of every invitee.

because that was apparently funny in the 60's or something.

321 Am I the only one that doesn't like peeps? I also cannot stand candy corn.

What? I absolutely LOVE peeps and candy corn! Two years ago a bunch of us (elementary school friends and I) went to an 80s concert and I was riding a serious sugar high from candy corn. LOL!

322 The only use I can think of for them is to eat about two pounds just before a meeting and spew them all over the table when someone asks for your opinion on something. That would actually be kind of cool. If they didn't taste like a stale banana's taint.

323 I'm not hearing anything about these scum being fired. Trump is losing the fight with the IC, and when its over, his presidency will be over - 2 years max.

He should have a security team firing insubordinate and suspect IC people and frog marching them away from their desks. Forensic investigation of all their devices to follow immediately. Make examples of people. Use the data to take down others.

325 When Ivanka was having tea and crumpets with planned parenthood, did she happen to ask the devil org about them chopping up babies and selling the parts, or did that not come up?

Most of the people who surround Trump right now are liberal globalists and people who enjoy the liberal party scene in Manhattan. The few good ones that are there seem to be outnumbered. I hope they can fight off the globalists.

326 Who would've guessed that Trump was going to turn into the Lion, the Scarecrow, and the Tin Man in two months? I'm waiting for the Intelligence Community to fire the Senate Intel Committee and Trump in the upcoming weeks and for them to effect the congenital GOP shoulder slump and apologize and recuse themselves from any further meddling in Democrat business. Elections have consequences. The only problem is that the consequences for the GOP after they win are pretty much identical to the consequences after they lose--cowering like whipped rescue dogs.

Just over two months and we're already sideways.

328 "It's time to put Obama's minions on notice."

No, It's time to put Obama's minions on the fucking rack. Not all of them, mind you, just the ones who will scream really loudly. Well okay, that would be all of them. Point taken.

329 >>>Candy corn is OK, but it sneaks up on you and it doesn't take much to get the 'OK, that was too much' feeling a few minutes later.

This is correct.

Three or four candy corns are nice though.

330 The NSA has been uncooperative in lots of investigations. Now that we know that they collect call, emails, and texts from all Americans, "unwittingly", I bet the information they could have provided in the Hillary email scandal could have been helpful. Perhaps if Hillary and her team had been unmasked in THEIR communications, we would have learned the classified emails that she deleted and the risks to our national security based on those leaks. The NSA might have dug into their treasure trove of American communications to explain why the government did nothing to help the Americans under attack in Benghazi. Of course I could go on. I am disgusted.
