Huma and Anthony were supposed to be the power-couple who served as Bill and Hillary's heirs. Hillary would be elected as the first woman president, and Huma would make a name for herself serving in the executive branch while Anthony rose through the ranks of the Congressional leadership. Eventually one of the two would run for President. Most likely Huma, so that she could be elected while Anthony went on to be Speaker of the House at the same time.

My theory is that they originally planned to run him for the Mayor of Chicago. Michelle would cement his support in the black community. Running for President was an opportunity that he jumped at and got lucky.

It is that simple and the people harmed by a complete repeal are extremely small in number when compared to the people who would benefit. Most people "harmed" are ones on Medicaid... only part of those would be kicked off rolls as many that signed on were eligible already under old Medicaid rules. The ones that are kicked off can go back to whatever arrangements they had pre 2010.
