I applaud this! I was one of the last classes to be required to take Latin at my small, private, high school in NY. I cannot tell you how much it taught me and how it practically saved my *ss in the SAT's and helped me learn French and Spanish by allowing you to suss out words and meanings from Latin roots. It also helped to no end in my college history courses ( majored in History ~ ancient and Medieval Europe). Nothing like reading source texts in their original.
I would look to see if they are using Wheelock's Latin Primer ~ still the definitive text to my knowledge. And also make sure they are mixing in some of the great Roman authors, particularly Virgil's Aeneid, when they become a little more advanced.
All that being said ~ I recommend Latin only in addition to another foreign language ~ not in place of, FWIW.

Uh huh. Accept that Obamacare repeal is being done under the 2017 budget thanks to the Budget Resolution that was passed in January for the specific purposes of gutting Obamacare which means that this legislation, and only this legislation, can be done under the 2017 budget. The plan was to pass this with enough spending cuts to apply them to the 2018 budget.
Which brings us to Tax Reform which was planned to be done under the 2018 budget. Only problem, 2018 budget items can't start until the 2017 budget items are closed. That's the rules. And we probably won't see a 2018 budget until the summer.
So no, no time or room for a big, luxurious tax cut.

Let people buy insurance over state lines. Make the insurance companies work for your business. That's the first part.
Now, limit torts to actual, proven damages, and limit malpractice insurance to those limits. Price it accordingly.
Next, require that all medical services (with the probably exeption of emergency care) be preceeded with an estimate of cost, much like auto repair. Let people see what they get for their dollar, and allow them to shop around for the best price.
See how fast costs come back in line with reality. Quit spending tax dollars for insurance that peole can pay for themselves.
Now, set a standard tax rate of 10 percent for everyone, homeowners or renters or freeloaders alike. Make a standard minimum tax of, say, $1K, so that the freeloaders will have to quit doing that. Everybody has skin in the game, so everyone has to do at least a modicum of production. Allow the severely handicapped to skip the minimum, but require specific guidelines for exactly what "handicapped" means.
Cut welfare benefits to people who can work, but can't be bothered. Cut SS benefits to people who claim to be handicapped but who can work. Cut Medicaid from the Federal budget and leave that to the states.
Now, cut the Federal budget by eliminating the Department of Education, the EPA, 2/3 of the IRS, and just about any other program that costs but doesn't provide. HUD comes to mind. Etc.
This is not difficult. Let it be done.

In any case, the priority should have always been O-care repeal. Politically far more important, and substantively, too (I would argue, based on macroeconomic impact). O-care is by far the largest anchor around the economy's neck (regulation of other sorts is next, taxes a distinct third). O-care was the largest (effective) tax increase in US history, on the most people, by far, if one wants to look at it that way.
If there were any way to hang it around the Dems' (and "moderate" GOPers') necks, letting O-care completely crater in disarray would be acceptable. But the lack of a real media, and the demonstrated inability/unwillingness of GOP types (or even Trump, probably) to bring the relentless disciplined communications/education effort needed to make that happen render the "collapse" option dubious.
The last-minute inclusion of the individual market's "essential benefits" repeal actually serves to vindicate the darkest interpretations of the GOP and WH on this - or, alternatively, shows that Freedom Caucus sorts share the view of the GOP so colorfully expressed in these comments sections.
