Obama Loyalists In White House Caught Subverting Trump By Altering the Language of His Executive Orders
The Obama administration worked in its final weeks in office to undermine the incoming Trump White and continues to do so, according to multiple sources both in and out of the White House. Behind the effort, these sources say, are senior government officials who previously worked under President Obama and remain loyal to his agenda. In one instance, Trump administration officials found evidence that the administration's executive order banning travel from certain Muslim-majority nations had been selectively altered to bring it more in line with Obama-era talking points. Several hours before the orders were set to be signed by Trump, officials noticed that language concerning "radical Islamic terrorism" had been stripped from the order and replaced with Obama-era language about countering violent extremism.

What would happen to an individual who was altering language of those same EPA regs to make them more suitable to their own personal preferences? Heck, you can get in deep trouble with huge fines and jail time for manipulating data at a county water treatment plant in Podunk, Everytown.
This really does seem like an opportunity to make an example of some people.

I got rear-ended over the weekend. My large metal truck got a boo boo, the small plastic car that rear-ended me is totalled.
I'm going to the Progressive service center next hour to get it evaluated. My bumper is bent, they owe me a replacement, I'll probably take a check in lieu of them replacing it.
So, how much to I trust them? (Progressive is the bad guy's insurer, they have to cover this).
Laziness inclines me to say "sure" to whatever they offer me. I'm afraid that if I take it to my dealer for an estimate they'll charge me $145 just to look at it.
Anyone have any experience with this?

Had the same thing happen to me recently, although I opted for the repair rather than the cash.
One reason is, I just don't trust that I'll know what damage was done, even if it looked very minor to me.
My tailgate needed to be replaced, not because of metal damage, but because of electrical issues. Had I settled for an estimate without the shop taking a long hard look at it, I never would have known.

I dealt with Progressive one in a similar situation and, frankly, they were pretty outstanding.
I'm an asshole so I made them send an adjuster to my place and cut me a check on the spot. Unknown to them, I also got an estimate on my own from a place I trusted.
The guy showed up as scheduled, handed me a check for significantly more than my estimate and was gone in 10 minutes. Not only did I fix the damage, but got new tires and brakes done with zero out of my pocket.
If you take it to the center (did that once too), they're good too but you get what they give you. That typically means they pick the cheapest parts. It is guaranteed but I prefer to get what I want rather than give anyone the opportunity to cut corners.

You need them to make sure none of the energy transferred beyond the bumper. It's a safety thing. If the frame is compromised, it won't respond the same way if it's in another crash

Also, even if Trump fires someone that the Supreme Court says he can't (doubtful in my opinion) that takes years of litigation and at worst fines. big deal, it's worth it to get these people out of there

Their offer will be pretty fair, as long as the vehicle isn't 'totaled' or some exotic breed like a collectible. All the big auto insurance companies use automated estimating software that most repair places will honor on the spot. ymmv

AT&T said it is suspending all of its advertising spending on Google except for search. That means AT&T is pulling all ads from Google's YouTube site and the more than 2 million third-party websites in Google's advertising network.
Google has apologized to marketers for any cases in which their ads appeared next to inappropriate content. On Tuesday, the company unveiled changes to its ad policies and enforcement designed to prevent such cases.
