And furthermore, you can not replace a progressive judge with a conservative; it just wouldn't be fair and it would unbalance the court. Nor can you replace a moderate judge with a conservative.
When congress is again controlled by the progressives, and they have a democrat in the oval office, the rules change accordingly.

Their family fortune is now well past whatever amorphous mark it is that defines "fuck-you money".
Unfortunately, as we have now had empirically demonstrated with Babs Boxer, when Feinstein finally hangs up her hat, the odds are that her replacement will actually be worse.

It's not just that their worldview and what they believe in his horribly wrong, hateful and destructive - it's that they believe that it isn't. At least, I hope they believe that, because if they knowingly do what they do while being cognizant of being utterly wrong, then that is far worse and detestable to a depth that is even greater by orders of magnitude.

Sirius' classical station (Symphony) is excellent, and if you're in DC, the local NPR station (90.9) is outstanding. I listen to both on my commute in in the mornings. It's the only thing that keeps me sane.

NPR outlet aired the Christmas service from some High Anglican church in England, the music was just breathtaking. And I was extra surprised that the usual anti-christian rhetoric was absent during commentary.

More likely, any GOP incumbents who vote for it, who are also vulnerable (either a close R/D district, or short tenure and strong primary challengers), will be risking their seats.
If the WH, and Ryan, had any interest in something called politics, they could take the first steps to repairing the insurance market damage, AND put the Dems in a very perilous position, by:
* quickly passing a "clean" (all provisions germane by any normal standard) reconciliation bill that repeals everything in O-care that was passed that way the first time
* immediately moving through the House the key repeal bill that eliminates (entirely) the insurance mandates that have destroyed the individual and small biz insurance markets, inflicting huge damage on the society and economy - then let the 10-12 Senate Dems from Trump states who are up in 2018 "choose wisely"
Have no idea what the WH thinks it's doing. But it's pretty clear that Ryan and Co. simply don't do politics - they do the absolute minimum to survive, no effort to help the country or expand their power while diminishing that of their "opponents".

I like seeing what books get awarded as the best children's book art of the year. There are always books about progressive heroes packed into the winners. Granted the art is always great, but you wonder if the message gave it an edge over another equally deserving book.
Last year the winners included at LEAST two, possibly three children's books on Hillary. It will be interesting to see if the Persisted book wins anything. I like the cover art despite the inanity of the "author."
Doubt I will see any Trump books, ever, but you never know!

Davidson College in NC is a classical station: I play it all the time, and so does my (almost) 12 yr old on the radio in her room. wdav...they stream on the Internet, too. One of my favorite things about them is they don't play NPR or commercials: it's all music, all the time.

I'm sure Gorsuch and the staff who prepared him knew that the Democrats in the Senate were going to talk about how many times Gorsuch ruled in favor of an employer compared to how many times he ruled in favor of an employee.
