The Morning Report 3/13/17

sub.jpg

Good morning, kids. Hope you had a great weekend. Looks like Hymietown and much of the northeast is bracing for a final blast of winter. A Noreaster is predicted to bring blizzard conditions tonight into Tuesday so stay safe and warm. The big stories are the firing of Preet Bharara and the mostly peaceful rioting in Rotterdam ahead of Holland's elections. Whatever you think of what Steve King tweeted vis a vis Geert Wilders, in the context of what is happening in the world and what the Democrat-Left has attempted to do to this country since at least 1965, they are accurate, if not brutally honest. As to Bharara, shame on me for my ignorance about him. He led the show trial against Dinesh D'Souza for having the temerity to produce a film that was not only critical of Obama, but 100% accurate in its criticism. For that, he was persecuted. Hopefully we'll have more America and less Amerika, but not without a fight. Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.

44 PDT needs to take the high road with the debt ceiling, "not one penny added to the debt until we have a budget!"

Then he can direct every department to make the adjustments necessary to cut spending to maintain a budgetary balance. He can sell this as making the decisions necessary to improve the government's and country's long term fiscal health.

The funny thing is, we nearly do right now.

All you need is an RNC chairman with the stones to say something along the lines of "John McCain is an imbecilic, crypto-Democrat who does not represent the Republican party in any way. So when the owner confronted him for trying to leave the store without paying for the little girly cigars, that has... WHAT to do with him being shot for beating up and charging a cop 10 minutes later?

Seems to me we now have TWO felonies the dead perp committed before meeting his justice instead of just the one.

It was easy enough to gut the military and spend, spend, spend on social justice crap. Now it swings the other way and it's bad, bad, bad.

I can see Trump's point on this - we'll work with the budget process Barky put together, and actually enforce the things he wouldn't.

82 How do you tell the difference between a trannie and a drag queen? From what I understand, drag queens are gays who like dressing up like women. They have no desire to cut off their dicks or have sex with women, like many trannies do.

Every guy dressed up like a chick is now referred to as a trannie, but I don't think drag queens are under any illusion that they are really women.

95 So after all the muzzie rioting in Holland recently, are the Dutch still going to vote for the Liberals on the 15th?

It was the Libs who filled your nice, placid, peaceful country with mobs of screaming, rioting, muzzie cult members. Want more of the same, Dutch boy? Then keep voting for Libs.

I hope the polls in Holland turn out to be just as reliable as they were here in the last presidential election.

THIS x infinity.

And why PDT is hot and horny for this is a mystery. Repeal completely by sunsetting it over a 12-18 month period, allowing insurers to craft new policies to replace the old, minimally to return to 2010. Add in freedom to buy any policy anywhere and it's golden.

Not happy.

106 It was very cold and bitter yesterday, so I wasted my time watching movies and reading instead of writing.

Here's Alice White, star of 1930s Show Girl in Hollywood, a cute talkie with some rare shots of the Warner Brothers lot:

http://tinyurl.com/zaxt7uh

Here's a short clip from the movie, showing White in front of the Warners' cutting room. The woman she speaks to is Blanche Sweet, who was one of D.W. Griffith's stable of stars. She got a passing mention here a few weeks ago when the 1914 Griffith movie Judith of Bethulia was mentioned. Sweet played Judith, the Jewish widow who kills Holofernes:

http://tinyurl.com/zlsy3jl

Sweet's career was nearly over by time she made Show Girl - in fact, her character is that of an actress who is unable to find roles because, at 32, she is "too old" for the movie - and, though she didn't know it, White's career was nearing its end as well. She was the subject of an unofficial blacklist after her dalliance with producer Sy Bartlett in 1933, and eventually left motion pictures, becoming a secretary and dying in 1983.

Drag Queen: A male performer who puts on women's clothes as part of an act.

Cross Dresser: A male who identifies solely as male, and wears women's clothes as part of a lifestyle choice.

And for those who feel the need to attach sexual orientation to the discussion, I would suggest you do not try. Who these people do or don't sleep with is, really, outside the realm of anyone else's business, and any attempt to sort it out is bound to cause more confusion than clarity.

I disagree. Sexologist Ray Blanchard came up with a 2 part taxonomy of transsexuals:

HT - homosexual transsexuals. They tend to transition early in life, mid 20s latest, and generally "pass" better as female. They feel guilt over their homosexuality and so think, "If I am really a woman and attract a heterosexual man, that will prove there is nothing wrong with me".

AT - autogynephilic transsexuals. These tend to transition *later* in life, are less convincing as females, and have usually been married to women and have kids. They are heterosexuals who are aroused by the thought of being women themselves. Jenner is the most obvious example. Blanchard calls this ETLE (erotic target location error). Ie. their erotic fixation is not someone of the opposite sex, it is of themselves, re-imagined as someone of the opposite sex.

Yes. All we've done is made a two-tier set of populist reps, one set considerably more powerful than the other, but cut the sovereign states out of representation. Senators are further from the street than Reps, have longer terms and a smaller legislative body to deal with.

164 I disagree.

Whatever. That's more time and effort put into than I'm willing to give.

Those of us on the outside looking in, we seem men dressed as women.

Again, I don't who they're having sex with, I am merely trying to distinguish the terms, so when you see one walking down the street (or on the subway, you'll know how to classify them).

With all due respect, he was SPECIFICALLY targeted. While technically he did break campaign finance law, it was for a pittance amount. It's a law that people who violated it for considerably larger sums received either a slap on the wrist if not even prosecuted at all, on both sides of the aisle and from prosecutors of all political stripes.

D'Souza went after Obama and Clinton, publicly and loudly with a very successful film. This being the Obama who had a weaponized IRS persecuting and stonewalling political opponents.

You may not like the guy for other personal reasons but to say that he was not targeted by Obama is to be willfully ignorant of a history that is well documented and that we just lived through not 4-8 years ago.

C'mon.

Check out post 106 for my movie watching this past weekend.

Considering who he went after with his movie and considering what the IRS did to conservatives and religious groups and considering that the law is rarely if ever enforced for people who broke it to a level considerably more egregious than D'Souza, he was most definitely targeted.

Yes, he should have known better and whatever his personal foibles were before hand is another matter.

But there is no doubt he was targeted, and by Bharara.

I wasn't the one who fired him. He was the President of a Christian college, attending a Christian conference, staying in a hotel room while married with another married woman, and was caught lying about it to several people. How is that anyone's fault other than his own? Don't show up at a Christian conference drawing a salary from a Christian institution, get caught in lies, and then play the victim card.

Same thing with his prosecution and conviction. He wasn't targeted, it escalated because of his attitude. See how many tickets you get if you act like a dick with a traffic cop. Again he plays the victim card.

You want to clean up the party?

Either you strike at the head of a state party, someone like McCain in Arizona, and watch those beneath him become more careful about heterodoxy, or you work from the bottom up at the state level.

There are several red states that aren't particularly conservative. Taking out back bencher big government state representatives in MS, SC, TX, AZ, TN, AL, AK, and a few others would be one way to move forward.

Small task, so it shouldn't take long.

D'Souza was very open about his contributions, there was nothing to "bust" or "find out". What he did was fail to fill out all of the correct paperwork associated with this contributions.

Any Democrat in the country would have been quietly notified of the error, and allowed to correct it retroactively - happens every day. But Preet followed the orders from higher up and jumped at the chance to make an example of someone who tried to oppose Obama.

Preet is an opportunistic, grandstanding piece of shit. He will be EASILY replaced.

The second Brexit passed, these same people were saying, "We must have another referendum for Scotland! They must be allowed to leave!"

Irony is that these are all very lefty English saying this, and the loss of Scotland would suddenly lurch the rest of the UK hard to the right.

Has nothing to do with his son.

If that helps you sleep at night, whatever. But IIRC, Obama put *you* in charge of curing cancer, so you've only got yourself to blame, Joe!

321 Morning, all.

It's the 72nd day of 2017 when the GOP controls everything and there is still no effort to repeal (that is, erase from the US Code) obamacare, despite 6 years of promises.

This should not be surprising. From police to
prosecutor to judge, your attitude makes a difference in how you get
treated, and certainly is a factor in sentencing.

323 >>>You will make an excellent apparatchik one day.

on the contrary, you are defending someone solely due to their politics. I am pointing out that he is (a) guilty as sin, (b) his crime was discovered due to his own actions, not any targeting, and (c) his prosecution and sentence was also largely due to his reaction and attitude rather than any political motivation. The apparatchiks are the ones who blindly defend party members.

No. I am defending him based on the lack of the case's merit and the waste of time, resources, money and effort to go after a technical violation by the USAO of the SDNY.

You have a bug up your ass because he allegedly slept with a married woman.

You have bad feelings about what he did, so you want bad things to happen to him.

You are a morality cop and a totalitarian, BSG.

I could care less what he did.
But don't sell me some bullshit about being targeted. That dog don't hunt.
Truth is he got dimed out by his mistress's husband. How much common sense does it take to realize that IF you choose to commit adultery and a crime at the same time, it's PROBABLY NOT A GOOD IDEA to also commit the crime with the person you're committing adultery with?!?

The fact that he continues to dissemble on this issue or sell bullshit (it was just a technicality, thinking about you) is really what seals my compete contempt for him. He is cynically using politics to avoid responsibility for his actions.

That's the issue for me as well. I really hate getting up in the dark.
It's even worse here in Houston than it was in Colorado. I was surprised
at how noticeable the change in day-length was in moving south.

I know. I am a "born again Southerner," originally from the Midwest. I love the length of daylight here on the S.E. coast. I have no window coverings in my bedroom so I usually rise with the light and DST makes me choose between being behind for hours or using an alarm so that I may rise in the dark.

331 D'Souza over-contributed to a friend. There was no public corruption involved, ie, trying to influnece public policy. it was a probationary offense.

Bhararahara's prosecution however was political revenge ordered by CROTUS (Cockroach of the United States). As a dutiful toady, Preety railroded Dinesh into a prison cell.

THE PROSECUTION ITSELF WAS THE ONLY PUBLIC CORRUPTION.

And now he's hinting that Sessions is trying to hide something by firing him--in effect pronouncing someone guilty with nothing to back it up, only smears. What a jerk.

Funny how he has to cite as an example the corrupt firing of a commission by his own corrupt Democrat governor. Where's Coumo's indictment, Mr. Integrity?

Good riddance to another Democrat hack.
