Three Terrorists Die From Spicy Hummus And Toxic Gas, But Mostly Toxic Gas

Hamas blames Egypt for deaths of 3 from toxic gas in Gaza tunnel

This is like the man who kills his parents, then pleads for mercy because he is an orphan.

The three died in a smuggling tunnel between the Gaza Strip and the Sinai Peninsula early Saturday, and five were injured, after the group inhaled toxic gas during attempts to repair the tunnel.

The tunnel was destroyed in an Egyptian army border operation in Rafah, and the Palestinians were working to rebuild it when they were exposed to the gas.

Hamas digs the tunnels so they can smuggle weapons and conduct terrorist attacks. But Egypt killing them while they do it is an unacceptable response? Sure, we can discuss the decency of using toxic gas. I guess that's not very nice. In response I think we should boycott, send a stern letter, have a vigil, say, "tsk tsk Egypt!"

Yes, I am being flip, and the behavior expected of civilized countries does not include using poison gas against their enemies. But I have no sympathy for Hamas, which is simply a collection of murderers who have become accustomed to an obscene double standard that has protected them from the consequences of their own behavior.

So maybe I will call the Egyptian Embassy and tell them that what they did wasn't very nice. And then ask them where I can get Egyptian Ful Medames, which is sort of a fava bean paste that is fantastic with a bit of garlic, olive oil and chopped parsley. You eat it for breakfast with pita. it's great!

About ten years ago, I was told by my elderly libtard aunt that Hamas is not a terrorist group, and they do wonderful things for their community.

I noted that might be true, if you consider putting things like an explosives warehouse under a day care center good for the community.

28 Might not have been poison gas. Might have been simple oxygen deprivation. Tunnel blocked, disused for a period of time. Wood shoring timbers rot, metal rusts, both processes consuming all the available oxygen. Air doesn't smell "bad", but it just can't support life. Because there's no excess CO2 present, victims don't feel short of breath.

This happens all the time in civilized countries, too. People go into old root cellars, or wells, or mines, and encounter an oxygen-deficient, and die before they realize there's anything wrong.

Well, they were trying to repair a collapsed tunnel, so they probably didn't have airflow through it. If it was collapsed on Egypt's side, Egypt couldn't have done much unless they'd seeded gas before they collapsed it. So yeah, it seems most likely that they didn't gas-free it well enough, or the generator/CO theory.

Well, this particular issue was one of my own making, as I cobbled together an electronic distributor from the base of the original one, and parts of two others. All to avoid Lucas points and Lucas condenser.

I should have left the distributor alone, until I got the other issues sorted out. Would have made my troubleshooting decision tree less crooked.

Heh. When I got back from a short drive last evening, I pulled into the garage, and noticed the courtesy lamps were on, despite the doors being closed. I think I plugged the ground wire for the radio, which I reinstalled yesterday, into the "ground" leg of the courtesy lamp circuit. Easy to fix that. But I disconnected the battery anyway.

And the radio (a Sony radio/cassette) plays fine, but the digital readout is blank, so you can't tell what station is playing.

147 The idea that there are morally good and morally bad ways to kill and maim people is not self-evident.

It is one thing for two states to agree that each will not do certain things to the other's identifiable military personnel. Presumably each has decided that such an agreement is beneficial, and they may choose to claim that there is some moral basis for distinguishing between one method of killing and another. But one of the central elements in that agreement is that military personnel be identifiable.

People do not get the benefit of a bargain that they breach.

Some Mexicans just use lime, salt, avocados.

Most people use the above with some combination of:

Chopped onions
Chopped tomatoes
Chopped cilantro
Minced garlic
Chopped jalapeńos or serrano peppers

If you really want to be lazy - just throw in some good salsa to mashed avocados and lime juice.

That's my college recipe. It's not pretty but tastes fine.

If you want to make that one all fancy and such, throw a bit of tomatillo-based green salsa in there as well.

Consumer Reports rated the 2017 RDX and 2016 CRV at an identical 72/100. They rated the 2016 Highlander (and seemed to like it well enough), but didn't assign it a similar point rating. Let me know if there are any particular details you're curious about for any of them; the reviews and even the abstracts are a little to long to just dump as a wall of text.

One common complaint they had with the RDX and the higher trim lines of the CRV was the touchscreen controls for e.g. stereo and the like, which is valid. 80 years of human factors research gets discarded because they want to sell - and presumably people want to buy - shiny Star Trek screens that you can't operate by feel alone. While you're driving.

depending on how Egypt "destroyed" the tunnel, it could be left over from said act. fumes from the explosive used, or what have you.

the wogs are lucky i'm not in charge, because i'd destroy those tunnels the same way the folks who blow up gopher tunnels do: pump in propane or acetylene gas, or some other flammable, then introduce a spark and collapse the whole thing...
