Saturday Morning Weird News Dump

sat.jpg

Good morning boys, girls and everything in between. Let's take a look and see what happened this past week that didn't get a lot of attention here at the AoSHQ.

No running with sharp objects. Place nice with one another and have a great weekend.

If these items don't interest you, just remember it's an open thread.

8 I love that the enema artiste "made performance art look bad".

Morning all. Speaking of artists, I'm heading over to a high-end arts 'n' crafts show at the convention center, where people-watching is almost as much fun as ogling jewelry. Lots of candy-colored hair and wearable funkitude.

44 Forcing children to be vegans is child abuse. Kids need high calorie diet with animal fats and animal proteins.

Kids are not parents BFFs, and parents love to stick their kids on their diets. The soy protein diet from the 80's and 90's chemically feminized many boys and caused many girls to hit puberty before pre-K. The veggie parents *cough mom's cough* will point to Asian countries where they claim to eat high amounts of soy protein. Those people eat about 8 grams a day. Not 40 or more.

Sorry folks - have to disagree. It's more complicated that I stated - it's just not food choices.

I (and the other set of grands) are trying to save the kids from their mother. For example, no baths and unwashed hair for a week, a 2 and 5 year old getting themselves ready for school everyday (mom off to yoga early), no help with homework, and on and on.

Mom voluntarily gave up her authority by her action and lack of action long ago. Parental neglect is hard to prove if mom and dad are living together and they are well off.

I see you alls point - but, as I said, it's complicated.

Actually, I don't see the problem with kids getting themselves ready in the morning. It's not like they are having to feed the chickens and slop the hogs before school.

However, I realize that is just one of the problems you see.

82 As long as the kids aren't malnourished, it isn't child abuse. It is a parental prerogative. Had you rather the State raise your children? How are those Mooch inspired school lunches working out?

At a garage sale I was holding, the 10 year neighbor boy came by and bought 4 comic books for a buck. They were Archies, from my son's stuff. Twenty minutes later he was back, and asked for his dollar back. His parents (who I had met previously, they were Christian missionaries) wouldn't allow him to have those books.

Sad, to me, but not abusive. I felt sorry for the little guy.

G'day from Down Under and it's Sunday!

Rain has just started - my kitties will be heading indoors shortly I suspect...

Just watching a great little show "Jukebox Saturday Night" It's on a community station and I love it - thankfully the show is repeated late at night all week

Just watched Jim Morrison and the Doors - what a handsome gorgeous looking bloke - last time we were in Paris, we caught the metro out to Pere Lachaise cemetery where I paid homage at his grave (not by leaving bottles of grog and ciggie butts which were all over the gravesite)

I know have to relearn how to post a Youtube video ....

BTW According to many of our patients , they or their kidlets are allergic to something or other - it's not right when parents decide on the allergy after consulting Dr Google

93 Sorry folks - have to disagree.

I see you alls point - but, as I said, it's complicated.

...Mom and dad are living together, the small kids are neglected in the manner you describe, and it's the DIL's sole fault?
Leaving a 2 year old and a 5 year old home alone is actually criminal negligence, and there's no bus taking 2 year old's to preschool. The entire scenario doesn't make any sense at all.

I'm checking out now, because based on your posts, everyone involved is messed up, and this convo can only go south.

94 Thanks willow. Right now I need to focus on my two young boys and fight to be in their lives as much as possible. My first commitment after God are my boys. Maybe in 10 years I'll try again, but their mom has put me in a large 6 figure hole with lawfare to elimate me from their lives. Court is still going on and apparently not having their father in their lives is considered healthy even by experts when the rubber meets the road at the end of the day (other lawyers and experts talk big at the beginning but they know where their bread is buttered and it ain't by fathers and men's lobbyist groups in DC and state capitals).

I only have control over my actions and beliefs. As long as we are free, my individual efforts with my daily choices will have to do.

Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott said on Thursday that he is seeking to pass a law which would put government officials behind bars for enacting sanctuary city policies.

"Texas is going to come down hard on any city, any county, any public official that adopts a sanctuary city policy," Abbot said on "Fox and Friends."

He said the law would "impose real penalties," including fines up to $9 million per year and the "possibility of criminal penalties for public officials who adopt sanctuary city policies."

mmmm, tasty. Normally I'm opposed to new laws in general (don't we have enough yet?), but when it comes to public officials I'm of a different mind. Take all this 'qualified immunity' crap that prosecutors and judges have that makes it damn near impossible to hold them to account for misdeeds. And there is still not one person held to account, let alone in jail for poisoning that river in CO.

124 Forcing children to be vegans is child abuse.

Word.

Parents should also watch out for public school systems that change to charter school systems. Huge red flag, at least in Georgia.

Also I love how at the beginning of the school year they tell you that you are basically unwanted there as a parent. Zero accountability for the teachers in these public and public turned charter schools.

These schools are about total control and alienating the children from their parents. It's insidious.

Because the president doesn't get to pick and choose which laws to enforce, regardless of what Obama and Holder told state AG's. He said he was the law and order president, well, there you go.

So if the administration starts enforcing current federal drug laws that include MJ, either two things will happen...A whole lot of people will end up prosecuted for possession and trafficking or Congress will decide to legalize MJ, which will make all the potheads happy until they realize how many taxes they will pay to buy an ounce.

I used to do a lot of international travel. When I say a lot I mean 15+ trips/year. There was about a 2 year period where I was getting stopped every single time I came back through customs.

About the 3rd time it happened I asked the customs agent why I was being stopped. He told me that my passport number was identical to a UK passport that had been reported as stolen. I pointed out that I was an American and had a US passport. He just gave me a Golden Retriever 10 degree head tilt and kept right on staring at his computer and clicking boxes.

He also told me that there was nothing he could do and I had to take it up with customs in DC. Yea.

A Mexican illegal who last month was ordered deported by the immigration courts was considered stable by her MD's at the hospital she was at for exam of a brain tumor and was discharged. The coersive controlling parent will allow and encourage their parents to aid in the brainwashing, conditioning, abuse, and/or alienation away from/of the other parent. Same with the schools, their friends, and the GFs and BFs.

In my family, grandparent and other relatives privileges are a proud tradition. My sister is not a vegan but she does have a thing about bacon. I know, right?

So of course at every family gathering I make sure to include something with bacon. She stares daggers at me but her kids act like they have been released from prison.

I agree...I guess its the hope for instant satisfaction most of us have anymore. I can't believe we can expect a cabinet secretary, to suddenly get everything done in 30 days. They are having opposition within the agencies, and it will take time to get things right....Trump will need time to just fine out which buttons to push, and who is not going to help him!

252 A random note to those who deliver broadcast eulogies and encomiums:

When you wish someone "Godspeed," that's an invocation of fair winds and following seas, for a journey, among the living. It doesn't mean "go with all speed to God" for the dead and dying. If you're dead, you don't need it.

I think I'd forgive a quote of "Godspeed, John Glenn," just because that was such a famously-delivered line in its day. It doesn't go for everybody.

253 Willow, perhaps you were simplifying a long chain of events, but c.diff is not "caused" by antibiotics. It is a bacterium that is spread by careless sanitation (i.e. not washing hands thoroughly between patients and tasks), and is often contracted in nursing homes and post-op rehab facilities. My mom got it, and it was hell to get rid of. We finally got her to an infectious diseases whiz, who ordered cipro (iirc) every other day - not daily - and this schedule finally worked. He described it thus: Antibiotics tend to work like Roundup in the GI tract, wiping out everything, good and bad. Much like your fencerow post-Roundup, what comes back first? Weeds. Apparently, c.diff behaves like the weeds and flourishes in a post-antibiotic environment, but it takes 36-48 hours to show up. Going to a 48-hour interval allowed the c.diff to pop its head up so the cipro could find it and kill it; daily doses just make it lay low but don't kill it. I'm sure both mom's doc and I am simplifying a more-complex process, but please ask your doc about the 48-hour interval to get rid of c.diff. Meanwhile, y'all are in my prayers.

285 Accidental discharges involving dogs are common enough that there are a few mentions in the state hunter education course. The big one is boats. A dog entering a boat is more likely to bound around a few times, and if a shotgun is lying on the bottom instead of clamped in a holder, the pawshot will hole the boat. I always used to say, it's one thing to get a few pellets from a mishap. But to have to admit that your best friend shot you AND sank your boat? Don't be that guy.

But this guy/-al is obviously at a disadvantage being trans. Just one more thing to grab on to when the opponent is grappling for position. To win with that disadvantage is impressive.

Posted by: Warai-otoko at February 25, 2017 10:19 AM (sK2fh)

This is how stupidly confusing gender selection is...

I've read this article in other places and without doubt, people mistake what biologic gender the wrestler possesses.

The wrestler is a biological female who decided to become a boy. But to competitively wrestle in Texas, the state law requires one must wrestle the same gender as one was born with.

So this wrestler is biologically a female, wrestling other females, even though it 's mental illness tells it to act like a boy. And claim to be one.

No, the wrestler has been taking testosterone since 2015 to "transition' to a male appearance. So you have a HS wrestler on steroids being allowed to wrestle against females who are not taking steroids.

Meanwhile, y'all are in my prayers.--Cowboymeal

It puts the boys in an awkward position (literally and figuratively) - there a lot body contact, and things they've been taught not to do to girls - take downs, holding them down against their will. I am so tired of this trans stuff being all about the trans' comfort and nothing about the discomfort (and harm) it can do to the people they are forcing themselves onto.

Even the dog. There are some people who get off on getting a dog intoxicated. If the dog was wasted then it becomes a matter of who got the dog blasted.

I don't know many men who would live to see the light of day if their dog or if they accidentally shot their GF. Now I can totally see a guy white knighting if his girlfriend shot herself.

This story should not be swept under the rug.

363 352 >>Girls with vaginas should not be wrestling teenage boys in high school.
Talk about wrong.... It's just plain depraved on many levels.

My kids all wrestled. And occasionally would run up on the girls in their brackets. Always at a lower level tournament.

Title IX means that the little darlins can get a full ride to a wrestling team, where the percentage of boy receiving ANY percentage of a scholarship is in the low single digits.

I originally told them to just take the forfeit. But after thinking about it a little while, I told them go out there and throw there hardest, most aggressive moves and pin 'em with extreme predjudice.

Teach the little wannabe SJWs the actual difference between boys and girls.

369 Being vegan is very much a political statement for most of them.
It's about changing the world by what they choose not to eat. This is why a vegan can't just be a happy vegan, they must proselytize the vegan lifestyle - the world's survival is at stake, people!!!!

Also, from what I've seen, they never lose the craving for meat, so getting angry that there's meat at an event is just as likely about how much it is killing them not to partake as it is about their need to control what others eat (to save the planet!!).

380 One of eh talking points the left keep trotting out is the the Letter of Guidance issued by the Obama regime was in response to "guidance" being sought by schools around the country.

BS. Sure there were probably some schools seeking guidance. Undoubtedly they were run by the even more left than usual eductrats and they were seeking to stir up some SJW activity. They undoubtedly had contact inside the regime and/DOE to help them get their "requests for guidance" some attention. That is how these leftists scams work.

Just like so many school systems in the 70's were hit with various lawsuits forcing them to desegregate and spend more money on minorities and busing. The school systems were more than happy to be sued so they could shove more social engineering (and taxes) down the throats of the unhappy parents.

For those who have no idea what I am talking about, here is the link.

Can't seem to tiny url. Google or Bing Larry Nassar Lansing State Journal and the timeline of his sick practice articles are easy to find. Michigan State, along with Gymnastics USA is going to be in for a world of hurt on this. Not to mention the Kayroli's , Bela and Martha of the USA gymnastics team who are also now being sued by a gymnast for ignoring her concerns when Nassar was at their facility.
