Flights from Yemen to the US don't seem to do a good job of assuring that the passengers have the necessary visas to enter the US. Granted this was years ago, but when I was training to be a consular officer, we had to do a stint at immigration at JFK before we could go to the field. We had a flight from Yemen come in when I was there, and one passenger handed me a wad of cash, and asked me to marry him. When I asked him why, he said he didn't have a visa to come into the US, and needed a wife to get a green card.
I gave him points for honesty, but we hauled his smelly old carcass back to the deportation holding cell, and fined the airlines several thousand dollars.
And an interesting note, the INS guy begged me to do a good job as a visa officer, because, "You guys are the first line of defense for the US. If you give them a visa, there is nothing we can do to stop them from coming into the US, and not leaving. Please, do your due diligence before you give ANYONE a visa."
This was well before 9/11, I might add.

It gave more flexibility to travel agents to offer visas to clients, bundling them and sending them to the consulate, to be massed stamped as a courtesy.
But many of the 9/11 guys went through the consulate in Riyadh, and were issued visas there. Only a couple got through on visas express-but I don't remember which ones.

I said that to my family when they protested that deporting all the illegals was impossible. I pointed out that a leader actually gets relatively little done through formal channels; he accomplishes most of his goals simply by setting the tone of what will and will not fly, and he does that without issuing a single command.
Think Bergdahl would go walkies when the SecDef's nickname is "Mad Dog?" I don't think so.
Merely by setting the tone, the atmosphere, a leader can preclude a lot of problems from even arising. Conversely, as I like to say, by making provision for a problem you guarantee its existence.

They have no well-founded fear of persecution or danger, not even any poorly-founded fears of this nature.
The language has been destroyed in almost all spheres of interest to the racist authoritarians. This is an excellent example. I have yet to read a single "news" item related to immigration that isn't mostly incorrect, or *not* simply chock full of huge distortions, often in the use of words like refugee and asylum.
Remember kids, the US practically invented the concept of large scale asylum, or refugee resettlement, in the modern sense. And to this day the US carries almost the entire burden of protecting and caring for actual refugees, globally - not just with $$$, but political will.

It looks like they are picking them up, throwing them in white vans, driving 90 MPH for the border (no bathroom breaks!), and shoving them over the border. They can't sue from Mexico, are precluded for 10 years from applying for a visa because they have been deported, and had to be in the US continuously (no visits to Mexico) for more than two years to avoid deportation PLUS no identity theft, DWI, welfare fraud, IRS fraud, etc. They are ALL deport-able immediately at this rate.

I remember hearing about a man who move as a child with his family to Savannah in early 1900s. He grew up there and opened a general store. He married a local woman of the Baptist church and became an elder. When the Depression hit he was always open handed with his neighbors, allowing them to pay for groceries as they could, employing the children for a nickel an hour, though he could scarce afford it. When WWII started he was local morale officer and was on the draft board. He led the rubber and scrap drives. He had a half a dozen children of his own who became fine members of the community. When he died in the 1960s, the entire town turned out for his funeral. They erected an monument at the cemetery with the epitaph: 'He was almost one of us.'.

Australia and Canada both had decently hard-headed, pragmatic leadership.
The Australian parties seem to be overly nervous about polls. So one bad poll and a few bad moves by his staff and Abbott's party booted him in favor of Turnbull, warmist and generally urban shitheel, who'd like noting better that to unwind the policies that Abbott put in place but he can't because, guess what, they're what the voters want.
My take - eh-crew correct me as necessary - Harper was the best PM Canada's had in fifty years, but he and his crew were not particularly likable. When things started to go a little sideways the knife went in.
A shame, because the current Jagger filth is at best a national fluffer.

Laura Ingraham would be a terrible press secretary. The only thing she would say in response is her favorite word: "Globalist!" When I moved to my current home and could pick up her radio show on local AM radio I was initially geeked to hear it but was soon greatly disappointed. If she just taped herself saying "Globalist!" and looped it for three hours, that would be a good summation of her show.
