Good Morning Morons! Today is Sunday, February 19, 2017. On this day in 1878 Thomas Edison patented the phonograph.

Posted by: E Depluribus Unum It was Trump that got butthurt, and rightfully so, at Flynn for not being totally honest. He said so at the presser, and that's good enough for me. Yesterday, he fired a NSC staffer for openly bitching about Ivanka, Jared and other Team Trumpers. This man doesn't mess around. The White House promptly fired a senior National Security Council aide after learning he openly bashed the President and several of his top advisers, including daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner. Craig Deare earlier this week took aim at President Trump and his administration during an off-the-record roundtable hosted by the Woodrow Wilson Center for about two dozen scholars, Politico reported. Commie Pope: muzzie terrorism does not exist, but AGW does.
_____________________ Frau Merkel (whose re-election prospects are looking quite dim) made a similar comment the other day about how islam is not the source of islamic terrorism. Sorry progs, but the koran explicitly, and repeatedly, instructs muzzie believers that it is their duty to subjugate, maim, and kill infidels. The muzzies who have done so thus far are not "lone wolves" or "terrorists" in the eyes of their fellow muzzies, but simply devout and compliant practitioners of islam. Until the west pulls its head out of its ass and recognizes islam for what it is, this is only going to get worse. Welcome back, Vic. Maher learned that Milo is; Gay Catholic Has a Jewish mother Has a black boyfriend Is conservative and libertarian I'm pretty sure almost every one of those items would have the kkk burning a cross on Milo's lawn. For the same reason that employees of a corporation who attack their employer - however truthfully - in social media platforms could be facing the ax.
It's the 'Golden Rule' paragraph two... 'He who has the gold makes the rules'. ________________________________ Except that the teachers didn't attack anyone. All they did was comment on conditions in the school -- less crowded, cleaner cafeteria, fewer disciplinary problems, etc. Also, the teachers are public employees who, AFAIK, didn't agree to give up their First Amendment rights when they accepted employment. I gave one to my remodeling son for his Christmas present, but I didn't think it was inexpensive, but I really like Ryobi stuff. As an aside, I inherited a really handy tool I've from my father. It is hand-operated piston brad nailer. The outer barrel is a quarter inch tube, with an internal piston about a one sixteenth piston. At rest the piston is about an inch inside the outer tube. Insert a brad in the barrel, line it up with where you want the brad to go, and hit the wooden handle to force the piston down, striking the brad, and driving it into the wood molding. It is far gentler than any serious nail-gun, but works great with small delicate molding. I also have two self-contained PasLode nail-guns that are gas cartridge operated, one for regular nails and one for finish nails (http://tinyurl.com/zg59gxn). I find them indispensable for work in remote areas where there is no electricity, but the cartridges don't last very well when stored. Overall they have been a great investment! That reminds me of one of the most awkward moments of live TV I have ever witnessed: the guy who did the theme song (John Sebastian?) was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live, and as he was singing the chorus he exhorted the crowd to join in, and there was silence. He was practically begging them to sing. Denied! I was 13 or so and I was like, how embarrassing. Posted by: Gem at February 19, 2017 08:16 AM (uaHyk) Hahaha...too funny! Yup it was John Sebastian. Welcome back Vic! Wow, a whipple. My brother had major surgery up here at the Cleveland Clinic several years ago (just about cut him in half to get at an adrenal gland problem). The guy in the bed next to him was in awful shape and had just had a whipple. My mom, who is a nurse, said that was a horrible procedure and that as bad as my brother's operation looked, the whipple was worse. Will keep you in my prayers.

Very nice. I have heard of them before. But have never actually seen or used one. I saw the gas cartridge nailers, but seeing as there is only a limited amount of that type work that I do, and as I am already invested in the Ryobi battery tool system, it was a pretty easy jump into the brad nailer. In a pair of memos, Kelly offered more detail on plans for the agency to hire thousands of additional enforcement agents, expand the pool of immigrants who are prioritized for removal, speed up deportation hearings and enlist local law enforcement to help make arrests. Well! That was fun! I had all three webcasts playing in different windows, which caused numerous pauses in the video, to the point where I was probably about two minutes behind at liftoff. That's why I quit giving updates and just sat back and watched it.
The rocket disappeared into low clouds almost immediately after liftoff. SpaceX also seemed to have technical problems with the rocketcam video at first, because they kept cutting to a computer graphic. It would have been nice to see ground-based video of the returning rocket, but the low clouds precluded that. Normally I prefer watching the SpaceX technical webcast, but I think NASA TV had the best coverage today. Anyway, it looked like a flawless launch, and Dragon is on its way to deliver cargo to the ISS. Oh, and Stage 1 landed back at the Cape. Ho hum. The latest in dumb rulings by a clue-less black robe. And this one is on Trump's list.
The 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals found that the law does not trespass on patients' Second Amendment rights to own guns and noted a patient who doesn't want to be questioned about that can easily find another doctor. So a doctor can "make" you answer questions about your guns. And if you don't like it it is "easy" to find a new doctor. You can cross this judge off my list of acceptable SCOTUS nominees. Posted by: Vic We Have No Party at February 19, 2017 10:25 AM (mpXpK) A doctor can't "make" you answer the question. I believe the legal opinion was one regarding whether the doctor can "ask" you the question. There had been regulations put in place prohibiting physicians from asking the question and as a former health care professional, I believe those regulations should be thrown out. I should be able to ask the patient anything I feel is pertinent and the government shouldn't be able to tell me I can't. The patient should be able to decline to answer and that should be fine also. It is up to the doctor to be forthcoming in why he is asking any questions and how it pertains to your or your childrens health. IF a physician is asking because they believe no one should have guns, then that doc will find themselves without patients eventually. I also believe that if docs are going to report people for having guns, they should lose their license under ethics violations. I see this as a first amendment problem. The gov. needs to stay out of private conversations between physicians' and patients. Posted by: Jen at February 19, 2017 10:51 AM (cWhln) 267
And Vic, so happy to hear you are on the mend after your surgery.
People with courage to go through what you have gone through are not everywhere. You are an asset to this blog and I'm sure to those who love you. Posted by: Jen at February 19, 2017 10:54 AM (cWhln) 268

Posted by: Jen at February 19, 2017 10:51 AM (cWhln) This is another reason why government should not be in charge of health care. It's already a crime to lie to a law enforcement officer. Once doctors become government employees, it will eventually become a crime to lie to a doctor. Posted by: rickl at February 19, 2017 11:02 AM (sdi6R) 270

Has anyone else noticed that in website thumbnails, it's getting harder and harder to tell the difference between Bruno Mars and Milo Yiannopoulos?

So far none of my doctors have ever asked me about "guns". I think they know that question would not go over well here.

Jessica Jensen is the Dragon mission manager. I remember her hosting the early webcasts. Sounds like she's been promoted.
