So if I've got this figured right, this coming week is when the collective left will finally start getting something to cry about, good and hard.

I'm guessing President Trump is going to need a good supply of refills for his ink-pen. Maybe he'll get Chuck Schumer to pick some up for him while he's on a juice box run.

1 Good Morning Morons. Today is Sunday, January 22, 2017. On this day in 1973 the Supreme Court delivered one of its worst decisions in history. The black-robed idiots gave us Roe v. Wade (and Doe v. Bolton). This 7-2 decision legalized elective abortion in all fifty states. They used Stare Decisis creep from the "penumbras and emanations" ruling in the Griswald decision for a stupid law in CT prohibiting birth control for unmarried couples. Abortion had historically been controlled by the laws in the 50 States because there is absolutely NOTHING in the Constitution that gives the federal government any authority over abortion or birth control.

7 NY gov shows stupid once gain as he moves to bypass Trump and the Republican congress on Obamacare:

New York governor Andrew Cuomo said Saturday said he was requiring health insurance companies to cover medically necessary abortions and most forms of contraception at no cost to women, a move that further protects and safeguards coverage under the federal Affordable Care Act.

I guess he will be happy when NY is populated by nobody but the FSA and government goons.

I don't think you will ever get a repeal on class III since that has effectively been in place since the 30s. However, he has already started the Obamanite re-regulation wording for what "IS" class III and some other "regulations".

I approve of this move, on principle. The individual States are supposed to be our laboratories of government. And in experiments, keep in mind that most of 'em FAIL. That's a key part of how you learn what works and what doesn't.

Hey NYers -- If you want better experimental designs, select better researchers. Or not. Your choice. Just don't expect a bailout from the rest of us.

I don't think wearing a mask is illegal unless it is some obscure State law. But most of everything else they are doing is illegal. Crossing State lines to incite riot is definitely illegal but O'Choom never even tried to sniff it.

The O'Choom ATF has been adding to the list for a while. IIANM they added silencers a while back. I saw a copy of the expanded regulation a while back but I don't remember all the stuff on it.

The problem is that congress wrote a law about regulating class III firearms but left room for the ATF to interpret what class III was.

Posted by: AltonJackson at January 22, 2017 06:32 AM (KCxzN)

40 Here are the 6 categories for Class III, note silencers are already on there.

1) Machineguns,

2) Short Barreled Rifles (SBRs),

3) Short Barreled Shotguns (SBSs),

4) Suppressors,

5) Any Other Weapon (AOWs) and

6) Destructive Devices.

I think "any other weapon and destructive devices" is open ended as well. Here is some more explanation on those:

5) Any Other Weapon (AOW) - these are usually things
that don't meet the other criteria above. Put a fore grip on a pistol,
guess what? You JUST made anAOW weapon and if the proper paperwork
and approvalwere not obtained prior, you have violated
NFA regulations and possess a contraband weapon that carries severe
fines and penalties. Other common AOW classifications are these wallet
holsters you see that are meant to be/could be fired while the weapon is
still in the holster. Pen guns are another example.

AOWs are a little special in that the transfer tax for them is only
$5.00. Ironically, the "maker" of the AOW still has to pay a $200 maker
Form 1 fee just like he/she would to make a SBR, SBS or Silencer.

6) Destructive Devices (DDs) - these are self
explanatory, but the ATF has classified several classes of shotguns now
as destructive devices. The infamous "Street Sweeper" shotgun is
considered a DD by the ATF and falls into the title 2/NFA realm.

Posted by: Nevergiveup at January 22, 2017 06:39 AM (OOqLJ)

42 BTW, there is no logic applied to what they are putting under destructive devices. That "street sweeper" shotgun was added just because it is ugly and looks "mean". Actually it is a POS and is not even as good as the average shotgun you go dove hunting with. Also, all those big fire crackers you used to be able to get back in the 50s like cherry bombs and TNT's are on the list.

And yet she uses her bully pulpit as a "feminist leader" to attack another woman in humiliating sexual terms by suggesting that her father has sexual fantasies and "wet dreams" about her. That's not dehumanizing apparently, since the woman in question in Ivanka Trump, and it's perfectly okay to sexualize and humiliate her because her father -- not her, but her father -- has political views that Ashley Judd disapproves of.

They bitch, wail, moan and do all they can to derail any Republican. They will do the same again with Trump - excuse me, PRESIDENT Trump (heh) - but his reaction will be very different indeed. And I hope it makes the rest of the GOP fall in line, whether they actually want to or not. Just for political cover. Wow, imagine that; supporting the president from your own party for your own political cover. Through the rabbit hole we have fallen. But, so be it if it helps save the nation.

Go Trump.

73 Here is what a dealer on the internet says about purchasing a silencer:

our average silencer costs between $200
and $800. This, plus sales tax, NFA, Transfer Fees, and ATF Tax Stamp
(see below) will run you a total of somewhere between $600 $1500
and take between 2 and 8 months. This depends on production, ATF,
paperwork, etcetera.

I don't know, I says, as far as I can tell they think Trump is taking away abortions and birth control.
______________________

Yes, some of them were apparently protesting Trump's threat to do away with O-care (with it's "free" birth control) and to stop taxpayer financing of the world's biggest abortion mill, Planned Parenthood.

So basically, the "My Body, My Choice" crowd is upset that Trump may stop having taxpayers subsidize their reproductive choices.

In the interests of accuracy, their slogan really should be "My Body, My Choice, Your Money!"

Less noise. IMO it is not worth the cost.

Posted by: Vic We Have No Party at January 22, 2017 07:08 AM (mpXpK)

84 BTW, a silencer on a revolver is a waste of time; movies and TV not withstanding.

Posted by: Vic We Have No Party at January 22, 2017 07:09 AM (mpXpK)

85 77. Noise reduction. Less hearing damage for the shooter, less noise pollution for people nearby. Even with good hearing protection, you do damage when you fire an un-muffled weapon. My fondness for the Tok pistol round has cost me some of my hearing, for a personal example.

86 Question answered. Thank you gun users. And if/when I do purchase a firearm, I might now want a silencer as I already have significant hearing loss in one ear.

87 77. For hunters who use dogs, less distress for the hounds, and less hearing damage for them, as well.

They're expensive because the market is artificially depressed by fedgov interference. Lift that, and prices will fall.

J. J., read that Federalist piece I just linked. It will answer your question. In short, firearms are loud, ear damaging loud, and a suppressor knocks the sound level down about 30 dB. If OSHA was regulating firearm noise levels, they'd have to scream about how loud they are and REQUIRE suppressors be fitted to each gun.

That loud.

99 I have another question. Could it be that McConnel could have "reached across the aisle" to Schummer? I would not put it past him to say to Schummer: " we have equal goals. To get rid of Trump.we will work together to block anything and everything Trump."

Far fetched? Cray cray?
When McConnel was elected to his position he had such a smug weird smile that it was pretty obvious that his new position mattered to him a lot more than his duty. I think that might be the basis of the animosity towardsTrumps cabinet nominations. His picks are people who rose in their fields by hard work and intelligence. Our Congress has risen through the ranks by getting elected. McConnel, McCain, Miss Lindsay, etc. are good at getting in front of the camera and getting elected, but what do they do for their states?

112 A .357 magnum is the loudest gun I have ever shot w/o hearing protection. The sound level of a .357 is 164 db depending on what load you are using. 140 db is pain level. Our training at work regarding high noise levels was anything over 100 db would cause damage if you experienced it long term.

So if you shoot a LOT and your ear muffs only take out the normal 30 to 35 db, yeah you may experience long term damage.

166 Yesterday, as part of a sort of insane thought experiment, I decided to subject myself to some MSM news to see if the 'honeymoon' had started yet.

I think it is important to note how important the media narrative about the size of Trump's inaugural crowd was to them (the media). One side was clearly lying about the crowd size. I believe the media was lying because the difference in the pictures, quality, focus - the whole bit, were so different. But two of the MSM media outlets that I watched had nearly the same bullshit stories about how the 'Womens March' was so big and how the inaugural crowd was so small.

This is a big deal, I think. For the media now, it's not at all about ratings, or the veracity of the news, or even whether or not the media outlet can survive as a credible source of information, it's all about sticking to an utterly bullshit narrative to subvert our government.

It's dangerous. It's getting people arrested, hurt and at least in one case, killed. It's causing unrest and property damage and it's undermining our society.

This, I don't think, is going to be stopped by cracking down on the rioters. There is simply too big of supply of lowlifes who are willing to be paid to go to jail. They are going to have to go after the sources of the funding of this chaos.

That's my opinion.

169 For hearing protection, I generally use in-ear ones that I had made from impressions of my ear canal which knock out 28dB on their own. That's usually fine outdoors with pistol, but throw a big set of over-ears on too, and you're about as safe as possible.

I didn't use anywhere near enough protection over the years, and I'm paying for it now. So just trying to save what I can.

174 Also, if you're buying custom in-ear hearing protection, be sure you're dealing with a company that wants you to get professional impressions from an audiologist, not with a home kit.

A side benefit is you can also use those impressions to get a set of attenuators, too, for concerts and things. Those made one of the biggest differences to my live music enjoyment. It's clear, just quieter, unlike in the past with foam plugs that just muffled everything.

There are several people in the wealthiest top ten who IMHO appear to be involved in funding riots and sedition.

Hook a few big fish like Soros, throw them in jail, and seize their assets or at least freeze them until the investigation and trial can be finished.

Defund organizations on the Left cuz the American taxpayer shouldn't be forced to pay for violence and riots.

If you are mechanically inclined, modifying a lawn mower muffler is doable. These are great ways to rid your garden of whistle pigs without alarming the Kravitts next door.

228 Bossy Conservative and rickl

Simply enforce laws on the book.

Are those on the left seditious? Fomenting riots? Violent? Assaulting citizens who believe differently that in their God the State, the God that failed?

Those laws were put there to protect the larger body of citizens.

Zeke Miller was the reporter, IIRC. And I saw he apologized profusely on twatter and Spicer accepted his apology. That's why I was surprised at Spicer's tone regarding Miller since he accepted apology. I figure someone else was PO'd and wrote Spicer's speech.

234 Gregg Popovich rips 'thin-skinned' Donald Trump, and the president's media arm

Gregg Popovich hasn't appeared to shave since, oh, early November.
San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich has not held back in his public estimation of newly-sworn in president Donald Trump, as the longest-serving coach in North American pro sports already painted himself as aghast that his country would elect a leader who had energized his base with a series of "xenophobic, homophobic, racist, misogynistic" remarks.

Well Trump supporters should just stop showing up to games and buying merchandise. After all we wouldn't want to offend the twat

238 9 The incompetent FBI in CA has stepped up their loss of guns from parked cars. They are now allowing class III machine guns to be stolen.
==========================

Vic's linked story says a recently enacted California state law requires law officers guns to be in locked compartments when their car is parked. Has this victimized agent therefore been arrested? You and I would be, surely.

239 Watching CBS News Sunday Morning which is kind of like All things Considered on NPR. There's usually some light fare, but still a good deal of politics. It's just 60% less shouty than most Fake Steam Media programs. And there is NO pretense of giving fair time to the other side.

Anyhoo, I noticed on several occasions Jane Pauley referring to "Mister Trump", not President Trump.

244 Accepting Miller's apology would be one thing-- making a huge stink over the issue is another, and necessary both to recapture some of the Narrative back from the damage he already did, and letting the crapweasels know that shooting from the hip, or outright lies, are going to get you dragged out in the public square and humiliated.

249 I see that the NYT is running a piece saying "Inaugural speech dims GOP hopes for conservative agenda".

HA! As if the NYT can tell people what is "conservative" or not.

Maybe a real headline would have been "Inaugural speech dims neo-con Rhino's hopes for the same ol, same ol."

NYT can't admit it, and maybe the GOP-e still can't either, but that speech and those ideas he laid out are EXCACTLY what we voted for. None of the mamby pamby GWB stuff about "i want to make everyone happy no matter what".

I guess I will find out.
