And now with Lynch about to leave said mid level manager felt secure enough to do his damn job finally.

But if the left has an *imbalanced* *unreasonable* ideology, ie. flood us with millions of savages a la Merkel with no prior plan as to how they can be safely assimilated, you have to make the *sane* view sound hateful and bigoted. Ie. any disagreement with your wacky, stupid view must immediately be SHOUTED DOWN with accusations of bigotry, never discussed.

Immigration - It's racist to want to bar illegal immigrants. Also, it was racist for him to say Mexico was not sending us their finest, but their criminals.

Muslim immigrants/refugees - Was racists to say he wants more vetting/temporary freeze in muslim immigrants, racist to say out loud that Muslims are at war with us, want to destroy ISIS, etc.

Ah, thanks!

Think one of the most noteworthy aspects of this past election was how small a role social issues were. Promoting their own clothing lines by wearing them to important events seems a bit more honest than the Clintons selling influence under the guise of speaking fees, no?

Also, there's the usual progressive catch-22: a bunch of designers have announced they refuse to dress Melania (and probably Ivanka), BUT they also can't wear their own designs.

Sorry, one is accountable, and to be assessed, on one's current actions, when those are reprehensible and inexcusable. Past accomplishments, or rumors thereof, are obviously immaterial.

Wasn't Lewis the one who lied about the n-word at the anti-O-care Tea Party event on the Hill in 2010? You know, a clear case of vile racism and race-baiting?

Ditto for McCain, or whichever dumb fascist who happened to serve in uniform the Dems dig up to run for office.

If Audie Murphy had come back and advocated expanding Jim Crow to all 50 states, or outlawing private property, or socializing medicine - or any other stupid, destructive idea - then he would have been human garbage, too.

F**k the "civil rights icons", in particular. They've either participated, or stood by, as racism was installed as a legitimate concept into the very institutions of American life. They're as repugnant and unworthy of the term "American" as the most histrionic segregationist.

401 >>>"Pence hates the gays. Pence is Trump's VP. Therefore, by the transitive property of unclean beliefs, Trump hates the gays"

Most LGBTQs and other assorted oddities wouldn't have even know who Mike Pence was until the NC bathroom bill became law, and then Pence signed a bill that would shield businesses from being sued for requiring men use men's rooms, etc.

And the giant SJW uproar, along with Target's welcoming of any and all perverts to their dressing rooms, bathrooms, etc. Mike Pence became the evil incarnate governor who could have stopped this evil bill, but didn't and so he must pay.

I get some local free paper a couple times a week and noticed a headline for what was happening in a small town in SE Michigan.

Chelsea Michigan is located about 30 miles west of Ann Arbor and has a couple claims to fame. It's the home of Jiffy baking mixes, still made in a facility next to the railroad tracks, and is home to Jeff Daniels, the actor who prefers to live there when he is not in Hollywood. He built and runs a local theater there and his family runs a large lumber yard/home center.

Very small town, charming main street with shops and restaurants, old train depot, Norman Rockwell.

Over the years, Chelsea has become infested with loud and proud SJWs. Because, like most of middle America, it's citizens are tolerant of different viewpoints, as long as a sense of stability and normalcy is maintained in the mainstream.

Last year, the city council was threatened with lawfare from the SJWs if they didn't pass a non discrimination ordinance preventing the businesses, etc. from prohibiting transgenders, etc. from becoming whatever they feel like in restrooms, daycares, etc. One council member(we are talking five sit on the council) quit over the decision to pass the ordinance.

Now I see the SJW's are demanding the formation of...a Human Rights Committee. For a town of 5,000.

Someone there has to finally stand up to these assholes. I doubt it will be Jeff Daniels, but at some point, you cannot allow half a dozen nutters to destroy your town through lawfare.

That is, bypass the Beltway clique by engaging directly with regional and local media. This was done for newsworthy officials connected with foreign policy and defense, for a while.

It's absolutely something worth pursuing.

Regular, intermittent press events outside the Beltway, with only local/regional journalists invited. And community leaders, and bloggers.

Trump can be an amazing weapon, used properly. Because he's completely unlike the mostly airheaded, scripted mediocrities who dominate politics today. He's comfortable in his own skin, he's the anti-wonk, yet he knows and understands a lot about the real world, and expresses himself in a direct, plain, and sometimes - uh, "memorable" - way.

He can do no-holds-barred events like few on the stage today (forget the orwellian, idiotic, scripted crap of the last 8 years, which resembles Saddam's Iraq more than America).

Townhall meeting, live, from Detroit. Local press, local organizations, local residents (picked by lottery. Agenda: whatever they want to talk about.

She will be attending the inauguration, and she had no time in her schedule for congressmen/women who are boycotting the inaugural.

She also said that at Obama's last inauguration, many members of congress, and she was implying democrats, did not attend and she and her family were able to get great seats.

MLK's family is actually looking forward to Dr. Carson's leadership at HUD and she spoke of the things that all Americans want and need: jobs, housing, family, etc.

That wasn't the inauguration - it was simply a speech in the fall of 2009 that Barky broadcast live during the middle of the school day and that the WH and assorted lefties insisted that schools force their students to watch.

It set people off in my town for sure, because it was disruptive and took the place of actual learning for the students. It was also being shown while children were away from their parents, so parents would not be there to provide context to their children and refute whatever Barky was saying.

But the lefties shouted out the racism card and of course that drowns out everything else.

539 This "can't pardon someone if they haven't been charged", followed by the correction based on actual facts and history (with JackStraw bringing the actual court cites, with a minimum of Latin), is getting to be pretty funny.

It's been happening for about a month now.

543 From the Alveda King article:

'While I voted for Mr. Trump, my confidence remains in God, for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,' added the anti-abortionist.

'Prayers for President-elect Trump, Congressman Lewis, and everyone including leaders.'

She made the revelation as people across the country mark the federal holiday of Martin Luther King Day.

544 Jabba, thanks for the link.

I was driving in rain & sleet this morning when it was on the radio so I was not paying full attention - but she was a great guest for Varney and I like him anyway so it made today's drive a little bit better!

545 John Lewis seems to have been the real deal back in his early 20's, but then I don't see any record of him doing anything significant until his election at age 46 to his current job. (nor afterwards, to be honest)

He sure has piled up the honorary doctorates, though, from his actions as a young man.

Both cases are extreme.

For the sake of argument if you are correct the only thing keeping us from actual brownshirts is habit.

The American Civil War had the nasty byproduct of making 40% of the nation felons, I would love to see the executive branch argue "well man fixing that to allow a functioning society is the new normal."

Nixon was the executive branch getting lynched for being Republican, and part of why the nation is as screwed up as it is.

At any rate you win, well played..... I am going to ask Donald Trump for a pardon for defrauding the SEC in 2020 next week..

That dog is toast for sure.
No way are they going to bother with 2 dogs when they don't have a full-time handler at taxpayer expense.

The Clintons got rid of their photo-op cat by giving it to a secretary. The photo-op lab got run over by a truck --- in Ft. Marcy Park.
Okay, it wasn't really at FtMPk, but still.....

567 but I think MN was in fact very close.

Hillary won by ~40,000.

McMuffin took ~53,000.
G Johnson took ~113,000.
Stein took ~37,000.

So "red" won over "blue", but MN voters are stooopid.

You're correct. But this isn't the first time he's done this. He also did it when he shipped the 5 terrorists to Qatar in exchange for Bergdahl.

270 The idea of a famous woman wearing designer duds is first and foremost to help said designer's sales. So it's ok to push another a designer but not their own lines? Whoever wrote the article really didn't think it through very well.

Especially when the "common man" can't afford those designer duds.
Posted by: rickb223 at January 16, 2017 03:12 PM (3CXto)

Common man sticks with Carhartt. It's cheaper and working on icy roofs in designer wear is madness.
