I'm glad you liked it. If I can manage it this weekend, I'm going to root around in my library and online and see if I can dig up any more information about her.

I will say that, as much as I did like the full frontal pic (despite the shag carpet), I really adored the first one of her in that frilly dress and silk stockings.

57 I like Whistler's nocturne paintings although they aren't my favorites. But he captured the feel of a harbor at night as the water vapor thickens. Looking at this I can feel the moist air with only the slightest hint of a breeze, smell the dense salt aroma and see the hints of light. It is a very quiet, peaceful experience. Don't know if those who haven't lived it would appreciate the scene.

I wonder if part of Whistler's interest in the Nocturne scenes was to experiment with a very limited palette.

Then I had a flare-up of a condition for which I have FMLA filed, but no remaining FMLA leave days. Got very direct email from HR yesterday that I must return, but I'm still not able to. Hi Insomniac. 6 years ago I was laid off and out of work for a year. In that last week after being unemployed for a year and discouraged as hell, I had two excellent offers come in within 2 days of each other. Hang in there and don't give up. Luck can change overnight.

I don't know. My LTD doesn't kick in until ninety days, and that assumes that I still have coverage at that point. If HR pulls the plug, unemployment benefits might be at risk, because it would be 'fired for cause' instead of unable to report due to known, recorded illness. The union might be able to help, if it comes to that. Kind of in a head-spin at the moment.

So yesterday was parent teacher conference for kid the younger.

She hates going, so you'd think they yell at her or something.

Since she's HS, they get to pick what teacher they want to talk to at conference.

"what are you doing here? you're near perfect in my class, I don't know anything you need to work on"

(turns out she had an extra credit question for the teacher)

So we leave. on the way out, run into her english teacher, who tells us she's doing so great in her class too.

I'm so glad she didn't inherit my school attitude. I'm a bit suspicious that she may be a changeling, though.

That's something I have had a very hard time with - I use 2 packets of Splenda in my coffee. I know that stuff isn't good for me, but the coffee is so crappy at work that you have to doctor up to make it drinkable. Also, I just have a bad sweet tooth.

Donna, the powdered sweetener, Splenda of which I prefer as well, has dextrose as the main ingredient. Detroxe is a sugar building block or basically a sugar.

Now the liquid Spenda only contains sucralose, which is what makes things very sweet. I switched to that a week ago.

Another great product for a sweet tooth is Powerade Zero. It uses Sucralose as a sweetner. One or 2 32 oz bottles to drink a day helps plus it has potassium, calcium, added.
