Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Kurt Eichenwald Keeps At ItKurt Eichenwald accused Trump, with fair specificity and no signalling of ironic intent, of having gone to a mental asylum in 1990 due to erratic behavior brought on by "amphetamine derivatives." He's now explaining this was... "a joke."Newsweek reporter Kurt Eichenwald said Tuesday his baseless allegation that President-elect Donald Trump was once institutionalized in a mental hospital was actually part of a series of jokes and intended to be a "signal to a source" to talk with him. Eichenwald made the comments on "Good Morning America," as host George Stephanopoulos asked him about the September tweet in which he said, without evidence, he believed "Trump was institutionalized in a mental hospital for a nervous breakdown in 1990." "Any regrets about that?" Stephanopoulos asked. "There's a long story behind it," Eichenwald said after some brief laughter. "When you go through the full lead up to that tweet -- there was a reporting purpose for that tweet going out, which is more than you are going to want to hear about." "I was making fun of Fox News and the rest, who were doing 'Hillary has seizures,' 'Hillary has Multiple sclerosis,' 'Hillary has Parkinson's,' you know, let's go to Dr. Oz," he continued, referring to a point in the election during which both candidates' health was under the microscope. "So I was writing a series of jokes leading up to that with the intent of sending that tweet, which was a signal to a source to talk to me," Eichenwald concluded. The bizarre claim went unchallenged by Stephanopoulos, who moved on to another topic.Newsweek, Business Insider says, has not responded with comment on their employee's apparently casual slander for purposes of "jokes" and "signalling" to a source to talk to him. Below, a clip of Eichenwald's appearance with the docile, no-follow-up questions George Stephanopolous, and Eichenwald's newest jihads -- making threats of outings against people who merely didn't object strenuously enough to his alleged assault-by-.gif.

The Saga Continues:
Trump Tower stands tall, the battlements surmounted by the flaming Golden Scalp Weasel, a sign that the master is home. Guards stand in the lobby before the Golden Elevator. The seneschal enters and is whisked to the throne room. The room is gaudy in an unrestrained explosion of hyperactive baroque decoration. Marble, gold leaf, carved plaster and frescos cover every vertical and most horizontal spaces. On his large throne made of the skulls of clowns and candidates Donald Trump sits. "Oh Bearer of the Golden Scalp Weasel I bring you great news! The Electoral College has met and declared you the new President!" "And that Texas guy, Spanky or what ever he was called?" "He somehow...disappeared," the seneschal says, his beady Wisconsinite eyes darting to either side. "Anyhow, the faithless seemed to be mostly those who had sided with the defeated Duchess of Chappaqua, voting for people who didn't even run." "Truly?" "Colin Powell, Faith Spotted Eagle, and Marvin the Martian." "Then nothing stands between me and the capital," Trump says rising from the throne. "The last resistance is swept away." The seneschal eyes Trump before asking "Are you going out dressed like that? It's pretty chilly." Trump adjusts his fur loincloth before placing the great two-handed sword over his shoulder, in easy reach for his smaller than large average hands. "The heat of victory is enough. Where's my wife?" Melania comes from the back of the throne room. "Thees chainmail bikini, eet ees zo chafing." "You rock that babe." Reince stares and gasps before stuttering "I don't mean to be...bu..bu...." "Trump the Barbarian, Bearer of the Golden Scalp Weasel, and Red Melania his consort are set for the sacking of the imperial capital. The way is opened." The thing I love most about Kurt Eichenwald is his Twitter user pic. It is such an abject lie. It's clearly meant to make him appear classy, intelligent, attractive, and urbane, with just a hint of devil-may-care insouciance. "I cut so fine, you won't know you've lost your arm til you go to sip your Chardonay," it says, with a sly wink. "I have a unique set of skills and you'll never know half of them because you aren't important enough to warrant their use."
But then you see him on TV and he's just a tubby, balding, scruffy lunatic who's clearly suffering from paranoid delusions and a conspiracy complex that would make Alex Jones say, "Whoa, buddy. Didn't Newsweek "formally" become a partisan news brand when they sold it for a $1?
I mean, it;s always had a liberal bent, but at one time it was at least pretending to be a straight news outlet that played both sides, but a group bought it out and basically said it was going to be rebranded into like a Huffington Post. What was ironic is basically all the same people stayed on, showing it was always a liberal news/entertainment outlet. I think the top bit of news in the Turkey attack is getting under reported.
A top ally of Russian strongman Vladimir Putin said a NATO country was "highly likely" to have been behind the shooting. Frantz Klintsevich, deputy chairman of the Russian upper chamber's defense and security committee, called the assassination "a planned action," the Daily Mail reported. "Everyone knew that he was going to attend this photo exhibition. It can be ISIS, or the Kurdish army, which tries to hurt (Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan," he said. "But may be - and it is highly likely - that representatives of foreign NATO secret services are behind it. What has happened is a true provocation, a challenge. It is a challenge for Russia," said Klintsevich, a member of the ruling council of United Russia party, Putin's vehicle of power. http://nypost.com/2016/12/19/russian-ambassador- to-turkey-shot-in-targeted-attack/ Obviously, if a NATO member had anything to do with this, it would be huge. Yea, it absolutely matters. This was an off duty police officer doing something on his own. He wasn't even part of a security detail so his job is pretty irrelevant. It appears that both Erdogan and Putin have recognized this act for what it was, a terrorist attack, and are continuing their relationship. There have been a number of statements coming from both Ankra and Moscow stating this since yesterday. The real problem is what to do with Syria. Lenny Bruce had a killer routine where he'd count the minorities in the audience ("That's two n_______s, three k--kes, and a s__c...") and he was a radical.
some time in the late 60s the hardline commies realized that the "do your own thing" approach wasn't working. It just made people want to do drugs and have sex. Not good for revolution. So they switched to the "language is everything" approach. Posted by: Farmer Joe at December 20, 2016 02:28 PM (zSMr0) I actually think the Bruce thing was about breaking down civility. Even in the 50's, using the "n" word was pretty déclassé, if not forbidden. Educated people didn't use it. Bruce was about breaking taboos. The left broke all the taboos and then set about making new speech codes on the ashes of the old. They never really wanted "do your own thing" they wanted to destroy the old things and replace them with their own taboos and rules. Posted by: Donna and V. The Saker talked a bit about the assassination. He thinks they thought the gallery was sterile or clear and the Russian ambassador was too risky. He said it would indicate the assassin still had credentials.

There is NO way that Reverse Jesus can turn things around and become Touchdown Jesus, when he is so arrogant in his own conceit. Of course he'll get endless media coverage, but that will backfire too. People will see his face pop up on their TV screen, and they will turn it off!
Posted by: runningrn at December 20, 2016 02:35 PM (sUP4M) That's how I see it too. The MSM has glommed onto "Look at Obama's high approval ratings! Everyone loves him and wants to keep on seeing him on TV!" First of all, they don't consider that just maybe the approval rating polls are as screwed up as all the other polls were. Secondly, his Great Eloquence didn't pull in votes for Hill or Congressional Dems. And lastly, even people who like him are going to get sick of him being a Big Buttinski and sticking his nose in national business. They know that's not what ex presidents are supposed to do. See how it worked? They got the message out there about Trump and the mental institution, Stephie spent no time at all calling it fake or false, then let it go on about Fox News and other "conservative" outlets.
And their audience absorbed some more fake news. Exactly as planned. Posted by: the littl shyning man at December 20, 2016 01:38 PM (U6f54 Just discussed this with a colleague at lunch today. We were relating the 'fake news" that our loony left acquaintances are repeating as gospel over and over on Facebook and other social media sites. They read or see a headline from their own nutty sites and immediately begin to parrot it and broadcast it to everyone they know. They are modern technology Paul Revere's. With nothing else to do or to occupy their feeble minds. According to them, Trump is going to strip the citizenship from every gay person. He is going to require Americans to register their religious affiliations. He thanked all the African Americans for not voting. Etc. The above is just stuff we have read in the last 24 hours. Posted by: Deplorable Jay Guevara _________ She didn't run because she was afraid of the Clinton Machine. Same with Biden. I think both now wish they had. We joke about Vince Foster, but Democrats know the Clintons are deeply corrupt and play for keeps and usually stay out of their way. Bernie was there just to be a sort of Ron Paul role and talk about issues and caught fire because he was the only one to really challenger her. There is zero chance this was a Turkish government sponsored action.
Posted by: JackStraw at December 20, 2016 02:28 PM (/tuJf) And who failed to vet the guy they hired as a security cop, hmmm? And who has been purging secularists from all the state agencies, and stocking them with islamists? Even if the shooter was not acting on direct orders from Erdogan, the Turkish government's islamist bent guarantees that some jihadists are going to get into postions with access. Posted by: Nip Sip at December 20, 2016 02:34 PM (NbJXF) But he wasn't the assigned security for that event. The assigned security, both Russian and Turk, were nowhere to be seen. That's what is odd. Eichenwald has a disturbing habit of disturbing behavior, i.e., his "research" and "reporting" on child pron when he was with the NY Slimes and his subsequent "rescue" of young male....he blamed everyone else for how that blew up in his ugly face, then, too. go figure.
Posted by: the Butcher at December 20, 2016 04:41 PM (AGJqR) 596
This man Eichenwald is a serial confabulator.
There is no sign of joking in the run up to the slander-tweet. He has actually made three excuses in one afternoon. My guess is that none of them are precisely true. It reminds me of his "just doing research" on pedo porn story, you know, the one where he later also claimed that he wasn't doing official research, but just trying to help a kid out. Meanwhile, the kid's mom says E. was offering to help fund the kid's porn ventures. He did get caught paying the kid money and using that as leverage to get access to the (18yo) kid - which was just let go by all even though he didn't tell his employer about the payments, and argued after the fact that his money-sending was not related to reporting. He's tried to have it both ways. If he gets the "anything for a scoop" way, he's in serious breach of journalistic ethics. The other way, he's guilty of that and maybe being a person who fits that face and voice that he has. Posted by: SarahW at December 20, 2016 06:26 PM (Sp1NT) 597
Today Kurt was doing Google searches on people who Tweeted him and then warning them that he was going to show up at their specific offices. That's just nuts! And he pretended to be his wife Tweeting that he'd had a seizure. He has some serious mental problems, and may be headed towards a psychotic break.
I have been leery of him ever since that Justin Berry child porn scandal thing, where he blamed his epilepsy on failing to remember that he'd given money to a child porn site while doing his story Posted by: Jane at December 20, 2016 07:38 PM (e/BSh) 598
Oh boy. This has been the problem with the Obama years, the insane or the inexperienced gaining the levers of control.
