Ioffe's contract with Politico was almost up; in response to this tweet by Ioffe, they chose to terminate her contract early.

The Atlantic, where she's headed now, chose to defend her. They did promise she'd behave more professionally in the future.

So people are naturally a bit curious as to why liberals are in outrage mode against the outrage against Ioffe, when they've not only been in favor of scalp-hunting before, but in fact have been the ringleaders.

Elizabeth Lauten, a relative nobody, was driven from her job. Reporters were actually camped out on her front lawn for having posted something on FaceBook.

Mollie Hemingway previously wrote about the media lynching of Elizabeth Lauten here.

Meanwhile, Julia Ioffe, allegedly a "reporter" who "reports" "objectively" on "real news" -- and note that Elizabeth Lauten had no such restraints as far as nonpartisanship; she is was a Republican staffer -- is apparently to be coddled, indulged, and indeed promoted.

There is no possible justification for this, except for the one they strongly imply but few have the courage to say openly: It's because Julia Ioffe is a leftist and the media-government complex has decided that leftists simply have more rights -- more freedoms, more latitude, more humanity -- than others.

This will not stand.

People will kill or die before they permit another group to subordinate them into second class citizens.

I'm a pretty astute detector of plastic surgery, and I actually think she has NOT has any work done at all.

She was just lucky to have a very attractive mother (Ivana was a big-titted Czech fashion model when she was young), and so was blessed with good genes.

I know that people who look like Ivanka sometimes don't "seem real," but they can be real. Too much makeup in her case, but real (at least in my assessment).

Exactly. Ultimately, individual policy decisions aren't where the actual problem is. It is about the RULES that we use to determine these policies or, more importantly, who makes these policies. Who's voices should be listened to or silenced.

Fighting back against the accusations against the cabinet is just a waste of time. It is noise. Regardless of the pick, the noise will be the same which means that there is no INFORMATION there. Arguing those details changes nothing tangible.

Now Trump isn't even in office yet, nor has Mattis be confirmed, but Bergdahl anticipates a change in atmosphere, in tone, and is worried about it. Would he have pulled the same shit if Trump had been President at the time, and Mattis SecDef? I doubt it. I doubt it very much. Not because Trump/Mattis would have issued an order against doing a runner, but because Bergdahl would have anticipated that if he did do a runner, and got caught, he'd get shit upon from a very great height.
