How do we stop these fucks?

I can see where it's going: first delegitimize alternative news sites by calling it fake news.

Then call for a ban on news sites which won't be unconstitutional because it's not really the press, because it's fake news, you see?

I was also reading that Google was going to explore tagging "fake news" on their search engines with a tag saying it's not a credible news source. That is when they're not too busy delisting Breitbart links.

The problem, as I see it, is not the news media doing this (they have already been doing a form of this) it is all the search platforms gloaming on to them.

I cannot see this working that well. Propaganda really only works in a vacuum- if people are told things that directly conflict with their experience, they will seek out others who share their view of reality, and if it is readily availible, well the propaganda does not work that well. Without the control of the government (at least for four more years) they cannot take regulatory steps, so it will just be more cultural pressure.

50 The phrase "fake news" just rubs me wrong. It's such a lazy, low-effort smear. I'm having a hard time properly putting words to the thought, but "fake news" reminds me more of something some guy with the handle TurkeyTits69 would belch out on Twitter, not something our esteemed members of the media would gather 'round. It's too vague.

It's disturbing how this meme shot up out of nowhere to be instantly taken up by all in the media and among the political class. It just appeared everywhere simultaneously. Almost as if there's something not 100% on the up-and-up with the MSM.

t's also disturbing that our intellectual superiors think so lowly of us that they think they can just throw this vague piece of shit out there and expect us to eat it up. Most disturbing of all is how many voting citizens actually are eating it up.

I'm afraid to say our nation may have some issues.

Nuge, surely. He wasn't #NeverTrump, was he?

Posted by: Splunge at December 09, 2016 06:41 PM (iMxBJ)

62 The most interesting part of this, to me, is that he's there, hearing things, reporting them...

AND HE GETS IT WRONG.

Not misquoted. Not the source who is wrong. The reporter himself misunderstands the reality of the situation, the order of events, what is actually going on around him.

And it seems most likely that the explanation for this is that he's filtering for what fits his own world view. He's not focused on what Trump is saying to protestors. But the moment Trump mentions Glenn, a (D) hero, he pricks up his ears, and make the most damning connection he can to what is transpiring about him. Completely unaware that he's connecting the wrong dots. Seems like the right dots to him.

If he had any idea what the average Trump supporter is like, he would have had second thoughts about the idea that the would BOO AT THE MERE MENTION OF JOHN GLENN'S NAME. If Trump had brought up his Senatorial record, well then, sure, maybe. But if we're just talking about acknowledging the passing of someone who did in fact do some great things for our country, that's a very unlikely response.

But the reporter doesn't think that, because he doesn't know anything outside his bubble, and his handy short take on Trump fans, in which reprehensible behavior is bound to happen; he just has to wait for it.

My guess is that he will want at least one expectation-confounding entertainment choice, and will use his powers to get it.

Did you see the Iowa speech? One very interesting thing was him describing the process he was going through with companies planning to relocate out of the US.

He'd say to his people: give me the names of 10 companies planning relocation. Then he'd get on the phone and talk to their CEOs. Then, by implication, "OK, give me 10 more."

Contrast this with what I remember reading about Obama: his people would refine everything down for him to a single sheet of paper with a few checkboxes. His job was to pick one. He probably thinks to himself as he does this: "it's called making decisions."

There is (or was) a taxi service on Guam run by Navy wives using their personal vehicles. I had a really good conversation with, as it turns out, the woman who runs the service, on a trip from the pier to the NAVMAG barracks. I asked how her drivers protect themselves, and she basically said, without going into too much detail, that they have pretty much every chemical and electrical nonlethal weapon on them at all times. Good on her for that (it's kind of hard to get actual firearms on Guam).

Then the whole island tipped over and capsized, the end.

I was carrying the offering down the aisle to our pastor (LCMS, doncha know) and something audibly popped, and I barely kept the plate and me upright.

MRI on Wednesday showed three meniscus tears, bone fragments and three torn ligaments, including ACL. My doc was laughing at me, because she didn't really believe I did all that at church, but the story was so unbelievable, she believed it.

So now me, my Newf and my lab are all limping. The Newf is faking it though. The lab and I are convinced he's all in it for the drama.

Ah. I stayed there once, decades ago. It was painfully expensive without providing noticeable luxury. But you couldn't beat the location.

Once went shopping for outdoor furniture. After a few years of Home Depot-style stores providing stuff that lasted a year before dying, I was sick of buying crap. So I went to this store that provided something more durable, and a very attractive, very well-dressed black woman came in, with an older woman who also showed astonishingly good bone structure. I had noted their presence, and the astonishing stylishness and poise of the younger woman, but thought no more about it, until an employee said to us, quietly, "that's Tyra Banks and her Mom." Huh.

309 Let me be clear. There is too much fake news. That is why Billary lost. As your leader, I will launch an investigation into all Trumpers and clinger votes. That should stall the electorial college. If it doesn't I will pen a Presidential Order giving me 4 more years in the Whitey House. Thats what I call giving it to the crackers from behind. And, don't call your congressional representive if you are white. I cannot answer any more questions. That is all.

310 I serious...I can't take this fake news crap seriously as long as Dan Rather continues to defend his fake but accurate reporting on Bush on the eve off the election...I mean, even when these guys are caught, clearly, lying and manufacturing the news, they still give excuses, they still lie, they still have fucking jobs.

I mean...how is it that anyone, ever, hires Dan Rather for anything? How can he show his face around a NEWSroom without someone punching him for ruining their profession?

I guess that is what rankles most - they lie, it is proven they lie, then they smile and say, "eh, whata ya gonna do?" they ignore it. Fuck, they give each other awards for it.

Rolling Stone - lets face it - you lied. You supported a liar. You defamed and hurt people. You did a shitty job of vetting your sources. You wrote the headline, then went out to make the story fit. Why are you even bothering to defend yourself in court? You did it. You know you did it. we know you did it. Why not just suck it up and write a goddamn check? Apologize profusely and repeatedly, and never make that mistake again. perhaps you can salvage some dignity, some ethical standing. Till then, who cares what the hell you think?

Newsweek - didn't you produce, before the election, a copy of your rag saying Hillary had won, and explaining the reason she won? Isn't that embarrassing? Don't you feel like fucking idiots? Mayhap jumping the goddamn gun is something you should try and avoid going forward? Nope - my guess is Eichenwald will get a raise and a promotion, and start lecturing us about fake news.

In MY local paper, I'm seeing *TOTAL* "journalistic" dedication (to the point of monomania, I-kid-you-not) to the (unspoken) idea that Trump is dangerous, crazy, unreliable, treasonous, anti-Earth, anti-woman, anti-American, bigoted, racist, war-mongering, anti-Science, pro-Russian .... you name it.

It's terrifying to me that our MFMSM is SO relentless in hammering on his alleged character defects and subversive intentions ... and he hasn't even taken office or completed assembling his management team yet. HE HASN'T DONE ANYTHING YET, and The Propaganda Arm of The Dem-Prog-Beltway-Elitist Party is already in full harpy-shriek, and shows no sign of even toning-it-down a notch.

If I weren't familiar with the internet and didn't have access to conservative blogs and news outlets, I would start believing some of this innuendo -- it's UBIQUITOUS and UNCEASING; and still these f&$#*@&ers want to tell me they are "concerned" about #FakeNews? Piffle. Rot. Bull-pancakes.

The lying liars of the former Fourth Estate (now firmly established as being a subversive Fifth Column) can all go commit seppuku with a rusty blade and rot in hell for eternity. And that's the NICEST thing I can say about them and their eventual demise.

I suppose our Presstitutes will never face any sanction whatever for their lies and insinuations, or for their relentless spin-spin-spin for The Left.
And they'll never be forced to acknowledge their complicity in damaging public confidence in The Media. That just ... irks me no end.
