Appointments:
CIA: Mike Pompeo
National Security Advisor: Mike Flynn
AG: Jeff Sessions

Pompeo and Flynn discussed here, and Trump's offer of the AG slot to Sessions here.

I don't know much about Pompeo but he (along with Senator Tom Cotton) blasted the Obama Administration for its secret side-deals with Iran.

These deals granted Iran leeway and license that Obama hid from the American public -- see, Iran can know about the concessions Obama gave them, but American voters can't. It's a matter of national security, you see? Our enemies can know these things, but not American citizens.

I do not know much about Pompeo either. Flynn looks like a good pick, and it may be a sign that Trump is going to have national security as security and not for SJW posturing.

8 Pompeo graduated first in his West Point class ...
he pointed out to Hillary (in her "testimony") that she took 100's of emails from Blumenthal on Benghazi, but the people actually working there couldn't get her attention.

Sounds like another winner for Trump and America.

16 Mike Pompeo is a very smart guy...graduated first from West Point, served in military, Harvard Law (same law school class as Ted Cruz, but Mike is older cuz of years in military). Came back to Wichita and worked in private biz before starting his own successful company. Four term congressman. Went to Geneva in summer of 2015 with Sen. Tom Cotton and broke story on secret Iran deals. He's a bulldog...doesn't give up. Does the right thing because it's the right thing. Great for America!
Very excited, but now waiting to see who runs in necessary special election (Brownback can't appoint).

27 I posted this on last thread, but my be more appropriate for this one.

Does anyone know how this works procedurally? If Sessions is confirmed, I assume that removes him from the Senate and takes the GOP down a Senator. Let's say the a couple other GOP Senators are confirmed. I presume then the GOP could for a time period be in the minority - depending on each states successor appointment provision. I'm just sort of curious as to how it works, and if there is a timing on this that is important. For instance, would you confirm some Senator last?

I was skeptical, but that skepticism is beginning to turn into a cautious optimism. His cabinet picks so far have been very interesting, and seem to indicate that he's both serious about delivering the goods, as well as trying to repair the crisis in the Republican party to the extent that it can be by throwing the Establishment a few bones. Add that to the list of epic Democrat petard hoists. The most epic, of course, is President Trump. By their vigorous defense of Bill Clinton, and the insistence of the entire media that a President's private failings did not affect his ability to govern. If they hadn't used every ounce of their persuasive power to create the cultural change that spared Bill Clinton, Trump would never have stood a chance.

By eliminating civics from the curriculum, they may have influenced a significant portion of the electorate to pick him over candidates who demonstrated a better understanding of politics and the process.

And now he's going in like a wrecking ball. The schadenfreude is non-stop.

Yes....but true confession time.

My grandmother owned a little greasy spoon for years. She was a damn fine cook and baker. However, as she got older, she started to assign "favorites" to her relatives that, well, weren't necessarily their favorites. And mine was.....pumpkin pie.

So every Thanksgiving, as the rest of the family chowed down on her blue ribbon Apple Pie and her made from scratch Chocolate pudding pie, I was forced to enjoy not one but two slices of her pumpkin pie (which was not her best) because it was my.....favorite.

The last time I ate pumpkin pie was when I was 19 years old and it was the last Thanksgiving at her house. Not touched it since.

I can, uh, trump that; there's a great story from R. And both the Smart Girlz have NO idea who the Knights of Columbus are. 'Another extremist group?'

Fun Fact about replacing a Congressman:

tinyurl.com/je7kg5a

And this:

While a House seat is vacant, the office of the former representative remains open, its staff operating under the supervision of the Clerk of the House of Representatives. The people of the affected congressional district can continue to contact former representative's interim office for assistance with a limited range of services.

And since the replacement election has to go thru the whole primary/election cycle, these folks can sit around in the office for months playing Doom all day and collecting a check.

I would have preferred Tyrell to say something like:

"That's odd, why would the Democratic Party's military arm, the KKK, endorse Donald Trump?"

And just leave that hanging in the air for the stupid bints to figure out.

Uhhhhhhhh, we're going to a commercial break!

Of course, the models in the fashion spreads will continue to look more like Melania than Lena Dunham.

408 Seen on Twitter: allegedly Trump told (conservative-ish UK Prime Minister) Teresa May to "stop by next time you're in the country" or something equally informal that you'd say to your friends. The left is melting down, even though TFG was actively hostile to the UK.

414 Good picks.

My concern DHS. If there is not a strong enforcer chosen as Secretary, then I would like to see it eliminated or absorbed. If absorbed , all immigration and border issues, currently a direct report to the Sec. or DepSec of DHS should move to DOJ and report to Sessions.

After that Jeh Johnson should be processed in some legal way that ends up with his ass in jail until he expires.

I would rather have Gowdy as AG.

He's a stone cold legal assassin

Posted by: Distracted drivin.... SQUIRREL! at November 18, 2016 11:44 AM (DVC2D)

=======================
Gowdy will be fine where he is.
The point is, with Jeff Sessions as AG in a Trump administration, the power of the House and Senate committees have been increased by an order of magnitude. No longer will House and Senate resolutions be blown off or circular-filed. Congressional chairs will have their authority increased and a contempt of Congress will mean something.
