But the other stuff is new (at least to me). Language warning. This is a blow-off dilatory post while I try to find something to write about. Eh, hopefully it will pass some time. One thing that really strikes me is the intense narcissism of the Millennial generation. It would never occur to anyone of my generation that we should videotape our convulsive sobbings so that posterity could see our transitory emotional outbursts. And yet, these people seem to think they're doing the world a service by Documenting Their Feelz. Amazing. The mindset here -- beyond my fathoming. Update: I missed the real story -- which Fritzworth had put in the sidebar. This series of photos of Hillary staffers' faces as election returns came in is delicious like chocolate cake made of flour ground from the bones of my enemies.Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

WTF with the NeverTrump tantrum *helping* Trump's margins?
Walk me through that one. Is the idea that there are disengaged voters - disengaged primarily because they've despaired of any responsible intelligent action while in office from GOP candidates - who changed to believe Trump was the "real thing" from their perspective simply because for the only time in modern history a major party candidate was being back-stabbed by elements of his own party? And this effect more than compensated for the votes shed through the NeverTrump phenomenon? 17-dimensional chess is not just for climate scientists trying to explain away data, I guess. I think it hurt him in that the Republican leaders weren't opposing him on ideological grounds (at least publicly) but said he was unfit for being a racist, rapist, whatever.
Did that help him with say Democrat Obama voters that dislike Republicans? I doubt it. I think he won in spite of all the shots his party was taking at him, but I just know states like AZ it was awfully close because of what people like Romney and McCain were doing to him. -------------- While it probably turned some people away that would have voted for him, it also appears to have motivated people to vote for him even more. I don't know the answer, and I understand the dislike of the NeverTrump movement, but I'm not sure it was all that harmful to him (and may have helped him somewhat). I spent Election Night 1980 watching ballots being counted in a Chapel Hill precinct polling place after the polls closed. Someone had brought a small b-w portable TV and it was tuned in to one of the nets. As the votes were being tallied, Reagan was crushing Carter in state after state. As the only Republican in the room, there were a fair number of furtive glances aimed in my direction, but things were civil.
Republicans in the precinct normally got clobbered 3 or 4 to 1. Carter won the precinct 2-1. That was a good night. Posted by: mrp at November 10, 2016 12:25 PM (JBggj) Posted by: JEM at November 10, 2016 12:25 PM (TppKb) 20

As of this morning Trump: 59,704,886 Clinton: 59,938,290 Difference in votes: 233,404 between them, with ~ 99% of the vote counted. It is still possible for Trump to end up with a plurality of the popular vote. I don't know where there are still votes to be tallied. And besides, I would wager that at least one million illegals voted in California, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas, because of Motor Voter registration. They give illegals driver's licenses, and then automatically start registering them to vote. Is this nuts, or what? Motor Voter has to be repealed as another action to fix the voter rolls. I'm not worried about "deprogramming" my 5 y/o. He hears all kinds of stupid things from his peers (and says all kinds of things that don't really make sense), but he's five, and bright. As he gets older, his BS detector will become more sensitive, and I know he'll come around. It should be pointed out that the dems and their media allies fomented all of this sh*t for the last two years. The coverage of Trump's policies was practically embargoed and everything that was being breathlessly reported was pretty much character assassination against all of the candidates on the right.
You reap what you sow dems...and you should be ashamed of what you have wrought on this great nation by unleashing a bunch of low information, hateful idiots to fight in the streets on your behalf. In a just world the dems would be permanently ostracized politically for inciting our citizens against each other in this manner. It's simply unAmerican. pure. If the head of DHS is pro-abortion but otherwise good on security, I think Trump would propose the candidate == Which, I think, is how it "should" be. IE, having a litmus test on abortion, for example, makes no sense in screening candidates that will have zero input into abortion or medical policy. I just dropped in on my FaceBook because one of my kids posted something there for me. I was totally shocked by the vitriol and hatred being spouted by people I thought were my friends. One female friend is going to divorce her husband because he voted for Trump because he didn't want his guns taken away from him. She claims she simply can no longer live with someone so full of hatred, misogyny, and bigotry. She also wants anyone who voted for Trump to immediately unfriend her -- which I will be more than happy to do. It's amazing how not one of these people has so much as mentioned Hilary's penchant for attacking and silencing Bill's rape victims.

As MeAgain so ably pointed out constantly during the campaign, Donald Trump is unqualified to be president because of his comments about MeAgain's bleeding from her wherever, his treatment of Rosie O'Donnell and his aggressive moves on women as revealed by the Billy Bush tape. The only way a President Trump can ever hope to attain legitimacy is to continue all of my executive orders and policies. Posted by: Barack Obama at November 10, 2016 12:49 PM (hA1V+) 215

After the way she treated President-Elect Trump, I would discourage all Americans from buying MeAgain's book.
No one has been a bigger defender of Donald Trump, the American worker and our national borders and sovereignty than I have. And the way MeAgain sought to constantly undermine and withhold her support from Mr. Trump was disgraceful. Say, why don't we go ahead and do my re-election as Speaker, say, this afternoon? You know, get it out of the way? I would hate for my re-election as Speaker to be a distraction for President Trump. Posted by: Paul Ryan at November 10, 2016 12:49 PM (hA1V+) 217

Oh, I do get tired of people referring to their "Muslim friends." Do they not know the laudable words of the Prophet (pbuh)? He instructs the faithful in Surah 5:51 of the noble Quran;
"O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people." Okay, so maybe if you are Hindu, they can be your buds. But for most of America, no. Also note that is you are a friend of a Christian or a Jew, you are "one of them." Conclusion - for most of America, your muslim friends aren't even muslim! Posted by: Algore at November 10, 2016 12:49 PM (LbXNI) 221

It would never occur to anyone of my generation that we should videotape our convulsive sobbings so that posterity could see our transitory emotional outbursts.
Because they all want to be celebrities. No matter what they do they record it and put it on social media to see how many people will see it to feed their immense and fragile egos.
Life isn't lived unless it is documented. Apparently, these people have no idea that the Panopticon concept is supposed to be horrifying, not awesome. Narcissism is what will bring the Country down.
Narcissism is a sin, but its not just a sin, its a reality distortion device that prevents externalities like REALITY from penetrating the thick bark of self love that covers their hearts. Conservatives don't think of "ourselves" as the most important part of the equation that is politics. These kids see the 2016 election as a moon that orbits THEM. They are at the center. Sure they are upset, because now TEH Donald's face has been etched on that Moon with a laser beam. Their feels are their CONSTITUTION. Its narcissism all the way down. I would submit that this is ONLY because the technology and the means (like social media) allow this to be done. Once again, so many things that are ascribed to "millennials" like its a shocking, unique, never-before-seen phenomenon isn't. But people need to type "millennial" five thousand times a day, as the word is fully fetishized. And by god, we will make as many excuses possible to type it five thousand times a day if possible! Legit question here:
Had a good talk with the sis what voted for Clinton last night. She agreed with me it can be hard when you live in NYC to see outside your bubble, see people in the heartland are hurting. And she agreed with me the media and the Dems are culpable for the meltdowns going on; they lied to the SJWS and cocooned them from reality. She said there is a lot of reports of people wielding swastikas, roughing up minorities, that the people that won are celebrating in disturbing ways. I explained that the Dems PAID people to go to Trump rallies and agigate, she had no idea, she was aghast. Agreed it's possible some of those misbehaviors are likely Soros ginning up anger and fear among SJWs. Anyone have proof of this I can send her? If people on our side are legit hurting people or spewing hate I'll call them out on it. But it sounds like fake stories to me meant to encourage the #notmypresident movement.. It can be reasonably said by reasonable men that the primary ethos of the modern day American Liberal is akin to self flagellation. If you wed your entire mindset and religious convictions to government largess, then it is an ecumenical fact that you be connected to the outcomes of elections on a emotional and spiritual level. But herein lies the issue, for liberal both holds the whip and the belief, both of which are causing pain and both of which drive the other. In this way, the liberal is a slave unto himself, ever wedded to the ebb and flow of disparate and uncontrollable events around him.
If the liberal were to divorce himself from the construct of ever expansive government, or conversely to tack more towards democratic horse trading, then such results would be inconvenient, but not destabilizing. As it were, and as it is, these two ideals appear to be the sirens song that, while it draws you to be smashed upon the rocks of discontent and disappointment, cannot be resisted by so many, so often. Not since the Cathars declared that reproduction was a sin, have so many chosen such a deleterious state of existence so willingly and cheerfully. WEBN, in Cincinnati, rock station, was generally making fun of Reagan, and then played "Old Folks Boogie" by Little Feat (actually a pretty funny song). These reactions are pathetic as they have been played so badly by Democrats and academia.
Their ability to function in the real and sometimes harsh world has been greatly diminished. They have been indoctrinated and lied to that they live in a racist, misogynist, homophobic nation and don't even realize how duped they have been. There are some millennials at my job that act like this - entitled, sniveling brats that are horrified if they are held accountable for their job performance. I just conducted a fire and evacuation drill at the hospital's OR section and the front office brat did not respond at all. After the drill I asked her why and she said that she was listening to music with headphones on and couldn't hear the alarm or overhead enunciator. She had no shame and seemed indignant that I even questioned her. Yes, I did write her up. Posted by: Cheri at November 10, 2016 01:08 PM (oiNtH) 433

STAFFORD, Texas (FOX 26) - A student at Stafford Elementary is recovering Wednesday after being beaten by several of his classmates. He says it was during a mock election when the class was asked, “Who voted for Donald Trump?” “This is America,” said Mary Lemmon, the mother of the student beaten. “Everyone has the right to their own opinion, and they shouldn’t be beat up for it.” But just a day after Donald Trump was elected President, that’s exactly what happened to her son at Stafford Elementary School. “These boys decided to ask the classroom, ‘Who voted for Donald Trump?’ And then I said, ‘I did.’ And then they come over here and jerked me out of my seat,” said the student. “Before I could get up they started kicking me and punching me.” Posted by: Bertram Cabot, Jr. at November 10, 2016 01:20 PM (IqV8l) 573

My son was not raised on "self-esteem, etc" and yet he didn't handle the outcome with what I would call quiet resolution or introspection. I'd like to blame his peer group, they egg each other on something awful; there is also a powerful TrumptheMonsty mythology amongst his peer set. There's ample sensible reason to object to Trump, but this has little to do with all these destroyed children's reactions. I did ask his Dad have a chat with him. It seems to have altered his perspective to learn that the fashionable response among his peer set is possibly not respectable or productive.

Look down in the lower left quarter, the guy that looks like Albert Brooks wearing what looks like a tux with a bow tie. Shit-eating grin on that dude's face. The only smile in a sea of misery. Heh. I'm wondering if he's one of O'Keefe's secret squirrels. Posted by: IllTemperedCur at November 10, 2016 01:22 PM (XWkhW) 586

Some of that is Utah's fault, I hate to say. Utah has been massively pushing the "vote by mail!" initiative, so they mailed out ballots, thinking most people would do that, and had very few actually polling places day of in places like Davis and Salt Lake Counties. People were still in line to vote until after midnight because the counties royally screwed up, underestimated the desire to wait till day of to vote, and vote in person and get their little sticker. As of last night over 200,000 Utah ballots were still being counted! Most of that will break Trump, adding to his tally. I'm so sorry my state has been idiotic this election. It's not normally who we are. We'll do better. Posted by: LizLem at November 10, 2016 01:22 PM (hvf9s) 593

I don't think Palin is going to play a part in the Trump Administration.
I think Nikki Haley from SC will be offered FEMA - don't know if she will take it. I think that we will see some non-traditional choices. Trump isn't a Left-Right thinker when it comes to politics, I don't think he is going to reward the true conservatives in waiting just for being conservative. He will reward some people who helped him, he will shut out people who didn't. But he is going to bring in people who are not going to be ideologically pure. If the head of DHS is pro-abortion but otherwise good on security, I think Trump would propose the candidate Posted by: blaster at November 10, 2016 01:22 PM (tewYv) 601

I'm glad Trump was elected and voted for him but it doesn't change the fact that he's an inconsistent jackass who has been on every side of an issue depending on the weather for all I know. My hope is that he fills his administration with conservative thinking people who reflect the philosophy of the people who elected him. Watching these people weep and wail and gnash their teeth is strangely gratifying. I don't consider myself the kind of person who gets off on the misery of others but right now but part of me--the petty, mean-spirited part of me--thinks they're deserving every bit of it. Dante placed the shades of corrupt political officials and employees in the Eighth Circle of Hell, where they weretormented by Malebranch (Evil Claw) demons, who shoved these faithless bastards under burningblack pitch forever. Hey millennials in the 1960s when the baby boomers protested they at least where protesting an actual war where thousands of their peers where being sent to die, by a Democrat president I might add. When blacks protested in the 1960s they where living under Jim Crow laws and there was institutional racism. Talk about a racket these state run institutions are getting billions of dollars in Federal money in the form of student loans to pay college professors and administrators yuge salaries to produce kids like this. No wonder silicon valley wants immigration reform we are graduating a bunch of bubble kids who are incapable of an original thought, the brightest and smartest people are being produced in other countries.
