I have a deep, burning anger with the MAIM (Mainstream Agit-Prop and Indoctrination Media). I see where Baltimore City is having massive early voting turnout.
Nice newscast of the Mayor in the polling place to vote, wearing a Hilary ball cap. And in Baltimore, that passive electioneering inside the polling place is indeed legal, and permitted. On the plus side, the Mayor endorsing Hillary may not actually be a net positive for Hillary here. Rawlings-Blake is pretty much considered as a significant contributor to the Freddy Gray Memorial Undocumented Shopping Spree and Street Festival last April. Bastardi: The National Republican Congressional Committee is running an ad praising Representative Bob Dold who represents the Democratic-leaning 10th District in Illinois for having bucked Donald Trump, the party's presidential nominee. This is the first time the NRCC, the committee charged with electing Republicans to the House, has explicitly used the message that not supporting the Republican presidential nominee is a good thing. "Dold is an independent voice who stood up to Donald Trump months ago," the narrator in the ad says. The ad then shows a clip of Dold declaring, on CNN, "I think Donald Trump has disqualified himself." The ad has been on air since earlier this week. It does not appear on the NRCC's website, and the NRCC declined to comment on it. NRO Posted by: Laurie David's Cervix at October 28, 2016 07:28 AM (kdS6q) 81

So, essentially, Gruber's plan is to FORCE PEOPLE TO PAY.
This, of course, is the true model behind all those 'free' healthcare systems that the Left loves so much (via massive taxation), but somehow it would be cruel and heartless to turn people away from care because they couldn't pay. There are essentially two options: 1) guarantee care, and enforce payment by law, which will require, of course, a massive bureaucracy and enforcement regime, or 2) give care only in return for payment. This option regulates itself. Both recognize that people have to pay for themselves, but the socialist option pretends that it's altruism and kindness when its really government extortion and empowerment. 72 "Single payer is the long term nationalization of the health care system in Amerika. "
When Trump wins, it will be time for everyone on the right to learn what the term "single payer" means and what it could mean. Right now, the catastrophic healthcare industry is almost entirely government-run single payer. There is only a tiny slice of the population who will use privately funded healthcare in that capacity. Between Medicare (for seniors), Medicaid (for the poor) and the VA (for veterans), the population who actually use catastrophic care are covered by the government. In the private insurance industry, you have the segment of the population who rarely, if ever, uses this level of care. Sure, there are young people who will get into accidents or contract cancer, but statistically, they are a tiny fraction of the whole. There is no reason why these people couldn't be absorbed into the Medicare population for basic care. Yes, there will eventually be some limits put on what will be treated, but individuals will always have the option of paying for additional care themselves. The big difference for the political parties should be the everyday care. Government run catastrophic care should be limited to just that - catastrophic care. Medical attention for those things in life that are unexpected and for which individuals would have a very difficult time preparing for by themselves. For everyday care, doctor's visits, broken arms, cuts, the flu, etc. care should be provided by free market, competitive care givers on a fee for service basis. Health Savings Accounts should be the norm across the spectrum even for the poor, seniors and veterans. It's important that we bring that direct connection of provider and consumer back so that people know what they are receiving and how much it cost. On the catastrophic side, we need to set clear standards and limits on what the taxpayer will pay for. Without limits, eventually every dollar in the economy will be spent on health care. Better yet, let advanced degree nurses prescribe for general medications and reduce restrictions on pharmacists to dispense drugs. In my ideal model, every family would have an advanced degree nurse under contract, who looks out for their general health. This nurse would be also working for or with a pharmacy chain and a testing lab. Meet the Professor Whose 'Primary Model' Says Trump Has 87% Chance to Win Helmut Norpoth's model has been right five of the last five presidential elections. This time it says Donald Trump very well could be our next president--if he wasn't sabotaging everything. "The model says Trump has between an 87 and 99 percent chance to be president," he said. But Norpoth has been right every single time he's done this---five for five over the last 20 years. "It focuses on historical swings of the pendulum," Norpoth explained. He uses data going back to 1912 that primarily has to do with two central tenets. I'm not holding my breath. But Morning Joe's ratings would go through the roof. The Most Durably Democratic County In The Country Could Go For Trump In 2012, voters in Elliott County, Kentucky, came close to breaking a streak that, at the time, had lasted 136 years. Elliott County was formed in 1869, and since its first presidential election, in 1872, it had voted for the Democratic nominee every time -- the longest span of any U.S. county. ... Will 2016 be the end of the streak? Demographically, Elliott County looks like the kind of place where Donald Trump could do well. My colleague David Wasserman estimated that 85 percent of the major-party vote in Elliott County in 2012 was from non-college-educated white voters -- the demographic group among which Trump is strongest. Even a small shift among those voters toward Trump could win him the county. Posted by: artisanal 'ette at October 28, 2016 08:44 AM (qCMvj) 198

The unweighted clearly have the R winning! . . . .IBD was the most accurate poll in 2012 and in the top three in 2008. Rand polling which is now the LA Times tracker was #2. Both of them have the race statistically tied at this point and I think that is about right which amazes me after the 8 week long 24/7 Trump hate fest by the msm. When we have a free market in medical care with Medical Savings Accounts, you'll be able to go onto the internet and check pricing for different providers.
If you need hand surgery, you might find "Hand Surgery Be Us" franchise in a town only 2 hours from your house that charges a fraction of what your local doctor does. The problem that hospitals have are people who go to the ER and can't pay.
I agree with the idea that ERs should not turn actual emergencies away. But there should be a different fund that they get paid out of. Maybe a charity fund. I think that if they are open about how much they need to keep ERs open, the communities will step up. Charging the paying patients with the care they gave the non-paying patients is immoral. Terrible idea. For example: We are soon going to discover that overuse
of pharmaceuticals can have existential affects on society. Antibiotic resistance is growing rapidly, and pharma isn't keeping up. Interestingly enough - bacteria do not develop resistance to topical antibiotics (NeoSporin for example) - why is that? Surely you would think that an antibiotic bought over the counter by millions of people would almost instantly breed antibiotic resistant strains - but no. So much for the quack theories of "too much antibiotic usage". The actual cause of injected antibiotic resistance is the failure to properly clean Hospital floors. If you sample a hospital floor you will find every known species of antibiotic resistant bacteria known. Where do these strains come from? The last thing most doctors do before injecting an antibiotic is flush the syringe and needle of air by squirting some of the antibiotic out. This causes a spill on the floor - bacteria on the floor around the edge of the spill develop antibiotic resistance. The failure to use bleach on the floor allows that bacteria to spread. Worse the water used to wash the floor is poured down drains spreading the resistant bacteria into the wild. 311 Ooh, sympathy on the lack-of-vein thing. Dad and I both have issues with this--last time a sample from him was required he got stuck six (!!!) times, and I got four on my last attempt."
Same thing here. The last time I needed a blood draw I told the idiot tech that the best place to do the stick was in my hand with a very small needle. The ass ignored me and stuck me twice in the arm only to have the vein collapse. Then she did the hand and I said, "Maybe you should try listening to your patients for a change." Dagger looks. I said it loud enough that her boss heard it too. Posted by: Donna and V. (sans ampersands at the present time) at October 28, 2016 09:37 AM (u0lmX) 333
Hillary Clinton Accepts Cash From CAIR, Leads 2016 List of Islamist Donations The Middle East Forum's "Islamist Money in Politics" project compiles an annual list of politicians who receive campaign contributions from Islamist groups and "individuals who subscribe to the same Islamic supremacism as Khomeini, Bin Laden, and ISIS." The top-ranking recipient in the 2015-2016 list is Hillary Clinton, who raked in $41,165 from prominent Islamists, says the report: This includes $19,249 from senior officials of the Council on American-Islamic Relations ( CAIR ), declared a terrorist organization by the United Arab Emirates on November 15, 2014. For example, Mrs. Clinton has accepted $3,900 from former CAIR vice-chairman Ahmad Al-Akhras, who has defended numerous Islamists in Ohio indicted -- and later convicted -- on terrorism charges. breitbart - national security section Posted by: artisanal 'ette at October 28, 2016 09:37 AM (qCMvj) Posted by: artisanal 'ette at October 28, 2016 09:37 AM (qCMvj) 335

I would love to hear what Nate Silver has to say about the phone adjustment, but I don't have a facebook account to post a comment. If you have one, can you post the following question? "I am concerned about the automatic 6 point adjustment made to account for difference in cell phone and land line usage. This adjustment is made by practically all pollsters, but is most clearly outlined by Emerson College Methodology: "...survey data is weighted with a 3 point decrease in Conservative opinion and a 3 point increase in Liberal opinion to offset the bias in land line only telephone polls. " This adjustment is based on data from a 2010 Pew survey that may be out of date on the mixture of cell only, land line only and dual use households. Anyone have more recent data? ------------------------- here is a question for the American morons out there... coming from a Canadian with the so-called "greatest medical care in the world" I have visited plenty of rural hospitals through my job, and many of them, and walk in clinics make you take your shoes off at the door, with the primary reason to keep mud and water (snow in the winter) off their floors. something I have always thought highly unsanitary. ... I think Trump wins one of the larger Republican shares of the black vote in some time. But that slice of the voting pie is going to be significantly smaller than it was in the past two elections. So more of less? I think that is good in this election. Posted by: ajmojo at October 28, 2016 09:50 AM (1H9ox) 358

Remember - the Feds shot and killed and only because they were cloaked in their official capacity was it not murder - it was murder... semantics...
Anyway they killed an unarmed rancher - shot him six times, just to be on the safe side - for occupying some nearly abandoned out building. They jailed a film maker who, as it turns out, had nothing to do with Benghazi for more than a year without a trial. This IS NOT your grandfathers country. And just keep on being unaware and compliant, if you still think it is. The government does what it wants and to hell with the law. Years to get subpoenaed documents. Years to complete totally meaningless "hearings" that lead nowhere. This is just a big ass con and we're not in on it. We are its victims.
