Wikileaked Email: Hillary's Going to Have to Stick Closely to Her Prepared Notes Because She's "Still Not Perfect in the Head"

Quick, let's elect her before we lose this one shot.

(Actually we'll get two shots. And I trust the Quisling Wing of the GOP will succeed both times. Won't that be nice.)

Top aide Huma Abedin warned the Clinton campaign team in a 2015 e-mail that Hillary was "still not perfect in her head" and would have to "stick to notes" during an event.

...

The exchange came at the end of a discussion among staffers about how Clinton would address then-GOP candidate Jeb Bush’s use of Super PAC money to fund his campaign.

"Yes. If she feels need to address Jeb directly -- would suggest the pivot," Clinton's director of communications, Jennifer Palmieri, wrote, referring to the remarks the team was preparing.

Abedin responded, "She's going to stick to notes a little closer this am, still not perfect in her head"

It was unclear whether Abedin was referring to a serious ailment.

Unclear, because there are other things they could be referring to.

Hillary Clinton campaign aides had a frantic email exchange in August 2015 over who should call the candidate to "sober her up some" at around 4:30 in the afternoon.

According to documents published by WikiLeaks, Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta emailed communications aide Jennifer Palmieri with a question at around 2:00 p.m. "Should I call her and talk this through or better to leave with you?" Podesta wrote. "I'm worried she’ll get on with Cheryl [Mills] and we'll end up in a bad place."

Palmieri wrote back more than two hours later with a response: "I think you should call her and sober her up some."

Some might say that "sober her up some" isn't meant literally, but means, rather, "talk sense to this lunatic (who turns to her svengali Cheryl Mills, her distaff Sydney Blumenthal, to yes-man every bad, criminal idea she has).

Well, that's not really much better than sobering her up from being drunk.

But given the Concerns Noted by Huma Abedin about Hillary Clinton not being quite "perfect" in the head in the morning, and unable to think on her feet, I would not be quick to rule out the literal, "she's a stinking drunk who's soused herself again" interpretation.

I voted for Cruz in the primary, but we can't underestimate just how unpopular he is outside of the conservative bubble. Yes, he would have demolished Hildawg in the debates, but the media would have portrayed him as an extremist "even more dangerous than Trump" and the GOPe would have undermined him almost as much as they're doing now.

Meanwhile Rubio was just saying the other day that we shouldn't read the wikileaks emails because what if the GOP got hacked? This is the type of "honorable loser" mentality that made the Trump campaign possible. Also, if Chris Christie made Rubio short-circuit, do you really think he could stand up against the Clinton's?

As for Jeb, he would have ran the most low energy campaign in the history of campaign's.

57 At HRC's latest rally appearances she is reading from a script. She keeps referring to the notes on the podium. In contrast The Donald is speaking extemporaneously and delivering the most inspirational and coherent addresses of this whole spooky campaign.

I heard excerpts of some of her blather on the radio and the voice is once again waning. She now doesn't have the luxury of resting for weeks in between debates. She actually has to go out there and stump, because Trump is either nipping at her heels or actually ahead of her.

90 Signs of Monster Vote Surface in Butler County Ohio

From end of last thread

Everything I see points to far more enthusiasm for the Republicans. Unless, you turn on a TV.

Trump signs. Yep. Cankle signs? None.

Friends who were unimpressed both in 08 and 12. One never votes. Democrat, but unenthusiastic. Voting Trump. Another who actually voted Obama in 08. Realized error and voted Romney with pinched nostrils. Enthusiastic Trump.

I think there is a far larger hidden vote than the usual suspects are willing to acknowledge.

This is in Illinois. Red Southern Illinois, but Illinois, nonetheless.

105 The problem wasn't the primary voters. The problem, as always, was the RNCe. They were bound and determined to give us RINO Rubio or Jebbie the Hutt. The voters had no more stomach for the RNCe's shit. There were no good choices at the beginning of the race.

We got Trump by default. But the time for bitching about the primary is OVER. If your ass is parked in one of those critical toss-up States it better get down to whatever your States has for a machine and vote for Trump.

He's not alone in this kind of thing, but people don't get that Trump is a candidate not a movement, and not an ism.

There is a movement, and Trump is OF it, but not it in itself. The Tea Party is the movement, and then it got killed (yes, I think the Tea Party is truly dead, who even says the name any more?).

The Tea Party was more of a we're fed up and not going to take it any more inception, but coalesced around a Constitutional Conservative view point. After being roundly trashed, the not going to take it any more crowd is looking for bricks to put through windows. Trump fits that well.

If he doesn't get elected, then expect Kanye in 2020 for the GOP or whatever it will be called then.

52 Can we please knock off this nonsense about how any other Republic would be winning?

Posted by: SimonGruber at October 26, 2016 11:55 AM (rX06+)

Cruz is going to take another shot at it in 4 years if She wins and 8 if it's Trump.

Rubio's been telling voters he'll serve his term out if he beats Murphy (and right now he's got a huge lead). He will almost certainly run again.

It will be interesting to see if anyone runs an explicitly Trump-type campaign the next time the GOP field is open again.

Another good articles from PJMedia's Roger Simon
a few snippets

Only Trump Has a Chance to Bring the Country Together---and It's Slight

...But even if Trump does this, his job will not be easy. An unfortunate percentage of the public in our heavily divided country has been brainwashed by our educational system, the media, and entertainment--or is just plain ignorant---to such a degree that the road back for any president will be difficult.

and

...Given this problem, it would be wise for Trump--if he wins--to reach out to people on his own side who have opposed him, difficult as that may be. ( Magnanimity has never been Donald's long suit, but it's not so hard when you're the winner. ) Early in the campaign I wrote that the error frequently made by the NeverTrumpers was that they failed to reach out to Donald, a man who usually likes you if you like him. A lot of things may have been different if they had. They could have made more of an impact. But those are bygones and we are where we are.

Whatever the Donald's negatives, and there are many, the fact is that Trump has more grassroots than Mitt ever did.

And Trump's negatives? Does "binders full of women" ring a bell? The Commiecrats will always smear, and the dupes will always buy it, and the media apparatchiks will always trumpet the smears. Even for goody-goody, virgin groom, paragon of family values Mitt. Think about that.

288 One good thing about Trump is that he helped make sure that Jeb! was not the nominee. Jeb! would have been a disaster too (for different reasons). The man never should have run. In fact, I think that the rise of Trump is due in no small part to the fact that Jeb! got into the race, put his $100k warchest on the table and tried to muscle everyone else out. The GOP rank and file did a collective groan -- "Not Jeb!, please!" -- but the powers that were were getting lined up for him.

You can see it in the Podesta e-mails too. They assumed that Jeb was going to be the nominee.

Sheer rage at this display formed part of the early jetfuel for the Trump backlash.

Now isn't the time for this kinda thing -- there will be plenty of time after the election (no matter which way it goes) to pick over the election and its results.

Good luck with that. After his political seppuku at the GOP convention, he is finished outside of TX. And I liked and supported Ted over Trump, by the way. But once the nominee is chosen, petulance and spoilsport actions are not liked and not forgotten.

Rubio's been telling voters he'll serve his term out if he beats Murphy (and right now he's got a huge lead). He will almost certainly run again.

Marco Rubio didn't show up at the GOP Convention to commit political seppuku, but like Jeb Arbusto, he's through. Immigration squishiness matters.

The way I see it, Trump was the only way to edge back to the right, even if baby steps.

No one else would have won. It's that bad out there. Trump is attracting "other than right" and "other than Republican." I don't see how any of the other candidates could have done this (unless Rand Paul was running, but even he couldn't have gotten the Mainstream Voters). We are talking about people who do not watch the news, and only live and breath the leftist propaganda in every aspect of their lives, from the drum beat of Globalism, Green This and That, Racism, Genderism, Sportsism, and so forth. The public schools and universities are turning out kids without a clue of history, but knowledge of Mainstream Events (i.e. what is the next big gadget or TV show or movie).

Trump may not be full blown Right, but he can begin to edge us back. No way the MSM would have allowed a true conservative to win.

324 You know, I'm one of the last people to have any sympathy for a grasping, corrupt wart like Hillary!; but if anybody would slide into 'problem drinking', she's definitely a likely candidate from her life history.

After all, married to a human boner like Slick Willie Clinton, never really succeeded on her own (although obviously consumed with ambition, none of her la-di-da perks came from her own work), only child an idiot welded to the family teat; plus it would be hard for even her cabal of obsequious rump-swabs to hide from her exactly how much of the country (nay, the world; hello, Haiti!) hold her in deep contempt and loathing. And justly deserved contempt and loathing, too, not just some media-manufactured two-minute-hate ala Sarah Palin. She's earned every bit of scorn, and then some.

So, in the classic phrase, is it any wonder she drinks like a fish?

They acknowledged that they had see Hillary not looking so good and blamed it on Hillary not realizing how important it is to not provide opportunities for the haters to criticize her appearance. They felt she should be using her stylist more consistently.

Also, they said Hillary's negatives are solely due to the constant drumbeat of unfair coverage she receives from the media.

Couple points:

1. The converse is also true: the ass you kiss today may be the one you have to kick tomorrow. As in socializing with the Clintons back then, kicking their asses now.

2. You don't know that Trump didn't try to build bridges and was rebuffed. Entirely possible, particularly re the GOPe, since Trump is breaking their rice bowl. Furthermore, Cruz came around. Was that off his own bat, or had Trump built a bridge there?

From the GOPe perspective, why wouldn't they want to lose? Being "the loyal opposition" means that they don't have to worry about being held to campaign promises, as they can always blame their impotence on "runaway executive power." Plus, they can keep sending out fundraising letters every year, pinky-swearing that, with your help, they'll be able to "stand up" to Hillary, while knowing they'll never be held to account.

First, something I predicted earlier seems ready to come to fruition--Trump's going to start his own media organization. This has the potential to be what Fox pretended to be, and could thus become a more useful voice for the movement he's been the accidental champion of.

Second, I suspect Trump's going to be looking to create the party the Tea Party should have been, no matter how this turns out. The track record in the past for such things isn't great, but I think there's a real opening for a replacement party for the non-globalists at this stage.

449 For years I never had or watched "Cable TV." But I was frustratd and bored by the handful of over-the-air broadcast channels. I'd say, "22 stations, and yet nothing is on worth watching!"

Then I was able to hack DirecTV for a while, and had access to every station. After a few months, I began saying, "600 stations, and yet nothing is on worth watching!"

It's actually astounding how terrible 99% of television is. So much potential, completely squandered.

I chose to hang on to my "Expanded Basic" cable package just so I could hang onto the History Channel and the American Heroes (nee Military) Channel.

But after one too many "ancient astronaut theorist" shows (everybody take a swig when you hear it and be shitfaced after 15 minutes or less) and other unreal garbage, and discovering that what YouTube did not have in terms of real documentaries, NetFlix did, bye bye to anything more than the most basic most barebones package.

454 407 So, the argument being unsarcastically put forth here is that the GOP wanted Jeb to be the nominee because they *wanted* to lose to Hillary.

Stepping back, that seems like a pretty f*cked up thing to believe.

On the other hand, it's not like crazier things haven't happened.
Posted by: V the K at October 26, 2016 12:53 PM (O7MnT)

I think that's a little too much of a strong-form argument than I'd say. It's probably more accurate to say that the GOPe just doesn't really want to win. Sure, they'd be mildly happier if they were in power, but the difference between a Republican President or a Democratic President - from the perspective of the "upper class" of the Republican party doesn't make that much difference.

I wouldn't put money that the GOPe actively planned on losing, but I would put money that they just wanted to go through the motions and gracefully losing to another Historic First presidency and then going back to their positions and saying "ah, too bad old chums. Nothing we could have done. Better luck next time. So who's hosting the next cocktail party?"

It's pretty clear from their actions the past 8 years that the GOP doesn't have any intention of really trying to roll back the leviathan of federal government or decrease the debt. They just say those things because it's what people want to hear.

455 I don't think that the Bush clan was setting Jeb! up to lose. I think that they have their tendrils through most of the GOP establishment and they wanted the family to take back the White House. Remember when Barbara Bush said (candidly) that Jeb wouldn't be president and that america had enough of the Bush family? They made her walk that statement back months before even our extended "shadow primary" began.

The GOP figured that this was going to be a change election and that, all things being equal, it was more likely than not that the GOP candidate would win. The Bush clan used their access and donor ties to try to set Jeb up to clear a path with tons of money and an inevitability argument.

The people were not consulted.

I don't think that they expected Jeb to lose to Hillary. They are remarkably out of touch and probably thought that re-running a Romney-esque campaign would work this time.

It speaks to the growth of political dynasties in this country, which exert control over political parties for decades after the family patriarch has left office. The Dems have been dealing with "ClintonWorld" since the 1990s. The GOP has been dealing with "BushWorld" since the 1980s. These people need to go. Fresh blood is needed.

Many of those primary candidates carried a hell of a lot of baggage with the base. Others like Ted Cruz had zero appeal beyond the base. Don't respond to attacks directly, wax nostalgically about Reagan, sunny optimism, etc.). That template has been exposed time and again to be a total loser.

592 Ok. Just voted for Trump in Florida and dragged my oldest son and his girlfriend in to vote too. She was voting for the first time. (Hint: She can't wait to get her conceal carry permit.) I usually do the early vote part, and I have never seen lines like this before. Note that this was in Miami - Dade county so make of that what you will.

And yes, I voted for all Republicans down the line, including little marco because the alternative is soooo much worse. Out with all incumbent judges, and NO to any amedment that will cost me any money no matter how tiny of a tax they say it would be. Liars!!

593 I don't know about where you live, but the early week bucket of chicken specials at the grocery store are tough to beat around here.

596 I think a National Dance is counter to a nation of Diversity.

Probably something like a Maypole thing. Every locale provided a super sized statue of HRC and an individual tether. Singing a song of praise -- which is being composed .
