I say it's great not because it's a (grudging) endorsement of Trump (and is there any other kind?) I say it's great because it contains something alien to most NeverTrumpers -- honesty and a sort of taking-the-piss-out-of-myself reflectiveness. I don't know about you, but I'm sick of reading convicted assholes' strident manifestos about their purported personal virtue and putative high principle.Last time a Clinton was on the ballot, I voted for Ross Perot. My vote didn't deny Bob Dole the White House, but I confess I felt a smug sense of satisfaction in "refusing to settle." I sure showed them, didn't I? It's these deplorable, trashy "populist" Republican voters! They must be taught a lesson -- that they have no voice nor place in the GOP, and they will not be permitted to hijack a pristine party that only executed a Southern Strategy here or there as a youthful indiscretion and turn the keys of power over to the "alt-right," which apparently is such a large force in GOP politics (not a fringe element, as these "consistent conservatives" used ot maintain) that no less dramatic action can save us from these racist, Nazi hordes than NeverTrump Republicans supporting Hillary Clinton with all the breath in their sunken chests. Meanwhile, they don't seem to realize that defeating one hated Foreign Tribe (GOP voters) winds up rewarding another Foreign Tribe (Democrats and the Media). But I suppose those tribes aren't as hated as they once were by these "consistent conservatives."

I'm only guessing, but I believe he's only really running in Utah so he can throw the state to clinton.
There's an outside chance Gary Johnson could win New Mexico or Colorado, which will hurt clinton more then Trump.

Devil's advocate, slightly - From the get-go Trump has been framed as a nazi. If the 1/2 the Democratic party went full nazi, I'd congratulate the other half who suddenly realized their interests were better aligned with the Republicans. So my response to never trumpers isn't to get angry at them, it's to try to calm them down and see how predictable and proportionate Trump is all the time. As sure as the sun shines, if someone throws a pie at Trump, they are going to get a brick-filled pie thrown back at them. Until a couple of things happened. One, Phyllis Schafly came out in strong support for Trump. But mainly, the very thoughtful writings of Eric Metaxas, a conservative Christian author, highly regarded for his scholarship. He laid out a case for Trump that made sense to me.
Thirdly, I am acquainted with one of the pastors on the Evangelical Advisory team that is helping Trump better understand the importance of religious liberty and life issues, etc. I have confidence in this pastor and feel that he is doing his best to be faithful in his task.
So I am voting for Trump. I'm not doing any cartwheels over it, but I will be at the ballot box on Election Day.

I'm 60 years old, and have watched the de-industrialization of my state, Ohio, for most of my conscious life. Why, I ask? What will replace much of the lost means of creating wealth?
No answer. I am doing alright as I am working in a kind of "knowledge" business job, but I see a lot of people near my age scrambling, because the companies they worked for, the careers they developed, become down-sized, obsolete, and they were let go.
It stinks. I don't think Trump can reverse this, or greatly change course. But Hillary and her crew are ALL IN to continue, and import more immigrants to work cheap and dilute our national sense of value, the American "sense of life" that we were all allegedly raised with. The America I was born into is gone, but the question is, will ANYTHING be left in a generation except multi-culti hogwash and PC pandering to whatever interest group is squawking today.
What the Globalists really hate is hanging onto American Exceptionalism, but Trump doesn't reject that. Trump is a flawed vessel, but I think he essentially understands this very basic point.
And another four years will be too late. There will be a lot less to conserve.

I've done this several times now. None of those with whom I spoke had the faintest idea what I was referring to by that term.

I vividly recall the angry personal attacks against people who grumbled about mccain and romney. Those who did were treated as traitors -- the lowest of the low. Total scum. They said "support the nominee no matter what. You may not like Romney, but THIS IS THE LAST CHANCE TO SAVE OUR COUNTRY!! What? Do you hate America?!" (barely exaggerating...)
And many of those same people are proudly crooning about how they could never vote for Trump, because, uncouth.

I don't object to anyone repeating the position that they believe we have bad choices this year. One just happens to be MASSIVELY worse that the other, because she is 100% certain to be an aggressive progressive statist, and she already has an embedded cadre of allies and fellow travelers infesting the rest of government and media who will grease the skids for her.
At least with Trump, there is at least some chance that he will accomplish at least some of the things he's saying he wants to do, and even if he acts (as I think is in his nature) to exceed the constitutionally defined powers of office, there will be actual checks against him. Unlike the "oh, we just can't confront the historic mocha boy prince" abdication of power the GOPe has given us during the Choom Dynasty.

I am retired and don't have much $$, but I have donated $100 to Trump.
Only once before have I acted out politically, and that was eight years ago when I saw the threat of an Obama presidency. I went to the state McCain office and volunteered to pick up and drive voters to the polls. I also got a McCain sign and put it in my yard. A few days later, my sign and my house were vandalized. It was a widespread occurrence around the Albuquerque, NM area. When I told the McCain campaign head about it, she told me they had more than a hundred reports like that. They informed the local rag, and they ran a short story on the inside pages.
The next morning there was an anonymous phone call to the area media reporting that an Obama sign had had a (gasp!) swastika painted on it. This made headline news in both print and electronic media. All it took was for some Donk apparatchik to spend a few seconds spray painting an Obama sign and the media pulled out all the stops to level the blame at evil Republicans. Nowhere did I see the media even entertain the possibility that it might have been a false flag event, which it almost certainly was. It was blood libel, and it works.
And, trust me about that because, the terror tactics worked in my case. My wife, who was in fragile mental health, was so concerned about the vandalism and implied threats to our privacy and safety that she refused to allow me to drive people to the polls. AND, she was too scared even to go to the polls and vote. That was one vote McCain did not get, thanks to the terror tactics of the Donk party.
Yes, as Islamists know, terrorism works, and it is also a primary tactic of the Democratic party that is trying to steal this election for Hillary. They are pulling out all the stops this time and the media is carrying their water by the bucket full.

I mean a part of me doesn't mind federal employees from donating money so we can use that as an illustration of how biased they are... but another part of me says no way is it right for a govt employee to have any say in an election. They are donating to/ voting themselves a raise. That seems like a mega conflict of interest.
Same with unions that represent gov't employees. When the govt was small and employees were churned based on who won the election (the "bad old days" of the "spoils system") it was a less pronounced issue.
Now though? I don't know, it doesn't seem right to me.

There are lots of people like me - I know them - who are struggling because of all kinds of issues they hold dear. Screaming at them - "Hillary is the Whore of Babylon!" may be true, but it's not always persuasive. In my post, I was kind of saying, "hey - I get where you're at, person in pew 57. But look, there are solid Christian leaders out there that are green-lighting Trump. You can honestly consider him as a good choice to make in this situation."

Truman was such a foul-mouthed shithead. He came out of dirty Missouri machine politics. The Democrat Party slid him in as the Roosevelt VP because they knew Roosevelt was about dead when he was re-elected in 1944, and they all thought they could manipulate Truman. And to a degree, that was true. Revisionism has made him a saintly, noble populist American, but read some of the things he said and did while he was President.
He is a lot more like Joe Biden than anyone else. Except he could play the piano, badly.

When he first started this campaign I would say, "He is a useful tool to help say and do things to the media/establishment/GOP/et al that need to be said/done." That was when I grudgingly endorsed him.
But after watching the battering he is willing to withstand I have come to respect him. Or his fortitude at least. Now I am full throated in voicing my support for him.
He may say crap that drives me crazy. He may not attack in the way I would like to see him attack. He may be a narcissistic political buffoon. But there isn't anyone that I can name that has shown the willingness to punch the babies that are the DC machine harder in the dick than him. And that, for me, has become issue number one.

On the Rep side, Trump was nowhere near my first choice. I (in no particular order) was pulling for Perry, Walker or Cruz. (I also was not going to vote Jeb!, Christie or Rubio). By the time my state's primary rolled around, Perry and Walker were gone, and Cruz was a long shot, but I voted for him anyway. When Trump won the nomination, I told my wife, "Well, now it's a contest between a man who should not become President versus a woman who cannot become President.".
If Trump wins and does nothing but sit in the Oval Office for four years playing Candy Crush, he would still have a better Presidency than Hillary.
I just want Hillary to lose, the media to lose, and the spineless elements in the GOP to lose. A Trump win goes a long way towards fulfilling all that.

Tonight I made the kind where you boil a syrup and spice mixture (from The Mustard's Grill Napa Valley cookbook). It's really fast, and since we're having BBQ on buns tonight, this goes well with it. It's called Sweet-and-Sour Coleslaw. (sugar, celery seed, dry mustard, salt, pepper, cider vinegar and olive oil)

I have no idea how the state will go. The Dems have built up a pretty good cheating setup in Denver and Boulder, but they wanted Oregon margins and put in vote by mail in 2013. That worked out not as well as their early voting cheating setup in 2014 and D Mark (Uterus) Udall was tossed for Cory (longtime GOP party loyalist) Gardner.
I drive a place that had Hillary and Jared Polis (HOR) signs a month ago and the last week or so has only had the Polis sign still out so even thought the local MFM is doing their best for the Hildabeast the wikileaks and other internet truth nuggets may be convincing some of the socialist idealist types that it would be better if Hillary is defeated so they can get Warren? or somebody they think wont be in *Wall Street's* pocket in 2020.

Which is funny, in the sense that for the past four years we've been hearing about how horrible the political consultants have been; how much of a revolving door they utilize; how they don't have any new ideas but just regurgitate the same ones over and over; how the GOP hierarchy is ruining the party; and so on and on. But now we have Trump doing it all differently from the established order, and the whole freakin' gang of GOP elites is having the vapors about it. For four-plus years we've been hearing about how horrible the the campaign paradigm has been, and when presented with a different model, they all go into paroxysms of bile-spewing hatred because Trump isn't following the usual model.

The thinking is that House members will vote to make McMullin President because he is the just most gosh darn bestest person ever to run for President, i.e., establishment RINO.

At the time it seemed bold and brave. But now, with the presence of that video, had she been tipped off it was nothing but a sure-fire self promoting opportunity with guaranteed vindication.
I believe very strongly she knew about it and that is newsworthy. She might also have known about some of the accusers. She needs to be asked when she was made aware of the video and some of these accusers.
