The Morning Report 10/25/16 [J.J. Sefton]

Good morning, kids. What's striking about Nurse Nasty's war chest is only about 100 individuals comprise 20% of her billion dollar stash. Wow. Anyway, ignore the polls and have a better one.

8 If we are mark'd to die, we are enow
To do our country loss; and if to live,
The fewer men, the greater share of honour.
God's will! I pray thee, wish not one man more.
By Jove, I am not covetous for gold,
Nor care I who doth feed upon my cost;
It yearns me not if men my garments wear;
Such outward things dwell not in my desires.
But if it be a sin to covet honour,
I am the most offending soul alive.
No, faith, my coz, wish not a man from England.
God's peace! I would not lose so great an honour
As one man more methinks would share from me
For the best hope I have. O, do not wish one more!
Rather proclaim it, Westmoreland, through my host,
That he which hath no stomach to this fight,
Let him depart; his passport shall be made,
And crowns for convoy put into his purse;
We would not die in that man's company
That fears his fellowship to die with us.
This day is call'd the feast of Crispian.
He that outlives this day, and comes safe home,
Will stand a tip-toe when this day is nam'd,
And rouse him at the name of Crispian.
He that shall live this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
And say 'To-morrow is Saint Crispian.'
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars,
And say 'These wounds I had on Crispian's day.'
Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot,
But he'll remember, with advantages,
What feats he did that day. Then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words-
Harry the King, Bedford and Exeter,
Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester-
Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb'red.
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.

9 Looks like I was a bit premature in my polling prediction on the ONT. CNN dropped a poll yesterday that showed hillary at +6 and the sample they used was D37 R30 I33.

A D+7 sample and more Independents than Republicans? I call B$.

I am beginning to think that Trump might actually be ahead in the race and the left is panicking.

If you completely ignore the polls - as you should no matter what - the tone, volume and temperament of the attacks on Trump and his supporters clearly show that they are absolutely shitting their pants that this election is far from in the bag for Oma Panzersuit.

I'm not so sure about that. After 8 years of ginned-up Bush hatred, disdain for McStains, and the first non-white candidate, the balance was tipped.

Palin was the only bright spot and her addition actually prevented a bigger margin of defeat, although conventional wisdom states that had McStains stayed on the campaign trail instead of retreating to DC after the market meltdown he might have won. Somehow, as time passes, I rather doubt that rosy assessment.

Obviously. All these things are setups.

When all this broke, her wiki bio said that she became a citizen in May, and went to work for the Clinton campaign in June. The setup was obvious.

Exactly like the women accusing Trump. Anderson Cooper just delivered the scripted question, but all those women were already lined up in the wings, probably put together months beforehand, coached and paid.

No scandal just 'breaks' any more, particularly not where the Clintons are involved-- unless its about them. Then it's just a breach of containment.

Also this time we have polls all over the place, and Democrat turnout was the worse in a decade during the Primary. That plus it is a tie ball game with the two most accurate polls from 2008 and 2012.

My understanding, as little as it is, is that there is some sort of life long maintenance drug regime required.

So when these surgically modified Sailors deploy for 8 months, will the ship be required to stock their drugs, or will the Sailor be required to provide their own?

And will the Geneva convention then require that if captured, that the captors continue to provide their medication?

Yeah, I assume ALL these "life long" Republicans are all trolls. It's like the "independents" in polls. I have never met anyone who votes a split ticket every time. There may be one off instances where they cross party lines b/c of ideology, or some odd single issue, but I have never met anyone who is an Independent. When you scratch the surface, they are as blue as a Smurf.

154 134 When Obamacare was first proposed, I said then that
it was another massive federal program in which the government could
hide massive unaccounted spending, like Soc. Security and Medicare.
That's what it has turned out to be - massive tax infusion into the
treasury that is already spent at least twice, and another massive tax
on everyone else who actually needs to see a doctor.

Posted by: Mr Macca Bean (Make deplorable adorable again!) at October 25, 2016 08:09 AM (4ng05)

About this time last year the big news was the billions in Obamacare spending all went to hard left blue States and 85% of it is unaccounted for. And note that it has still not been accounted for and the MFM is silent.

The sign I see most frequently, though is "We Back the Badge." That's in both fancier and less fancy 'burbs. I've wondered if those people are closet Trump voters who are afraid to put a Trump sign on their lawns. Sheriff Clark is very popular here and we know Hillary doesn't side with the cops.

That's because Harry Reid is a leader of a legitimate political party that has an agenda it wants to advance and nothing will get in the way of it's implementation.

Well, the real border wall at the checkpoint, and then a few miles away, the virtual wall that stretches as far as the eye can see that is simply Border Patrol vehicles with fancy heat-sensing radars atop them directed at the vast, empty space. Also seeing a lot of Trump signs down here and jokey t-shirts, such as ones with pictures of American Indians and the line "Hand in your guns, the government will protect you!"

I'd say that Trump's message is resonating down here.

They called Obama "lawless", and he could easily say the same words his terrorist mentor Bill Ayers used to describe himself. Now all of the explicit, open, apparently care free, violations of campaign laws and other civil crimes such as, inciting riots.

Either she is held to account, or our laws have no meaning.

264 The history of modern liberty has always been bound up with one thing: the capacity of the legislative power to elicit from the executive a redress of grievances. That is the role played from the medieval period on by England's House of Commons, and it used to be the role played by our House of Representatives. The chief thing was not their law-making capacity-- though that was important. The chief thing that gave them the leverage they needed if they were to hold the executive accountable and stop it in its tracks if it went astray was, as I argued in a blogpost some months ago, the power of the purse.

Our Republican Congress has not only abdicated it's responsibility as the controller of funding but also, as witnessed by their violation of their contract with Trump, can't even be trusted even to uphold a simple promise on paper.

289 There's an ad like that playing here in FL. I have to give my kids the context so they understand how dishonest and manipulative the ad is.

The ad that really pisses me off is of some clown who used to be involved with nuclear launch codes telling people that "when the president calls, we have to launch," and slamming Trump as unstable.

As I ranted when the commercial first aired, what this nickelfucker appears to be saying is, once the phone rings and someone on the other end says, "This is president Trump. Let's nuke Mecca!" he immediately says "yes, sir!" and pushes the button.

No waiting for confirmation. No fail-safe procedures. Not even a moment to confirm that you're actually talking to the president and not having your ass punked. Just a phone call and BOOM! go the rockets.

Dishonest asshole and a disgrace to his uniform.

299 New Jersey has a quaint election day practice that allows candidates to distribute cash to ministers, which they then use to "get out the vote".

Presumably, ministers would tell you they use the money to hire vans and people to drive them but I guess most people assume the money is used to buy votes. Anecdotally, most politicians would probably say this walking-around money is a major factor in getting out the urban vote.

Hillary will get the black vote in New Jersey, because she has a pile of money to do devote to it.

They have used polls to suppress/depress the vote for Trump, AND to try to excite their own side that doesn't like Hildabeast.

That CNN poll with a more proper 29/29/42 sample would put Trump +2.

The guy that used primaries to get accurate results ... probably adds at least two more, probably +6 more. The energy was for Bernie, and she spit on his people. Trump always had the outsider energy, which grabs some from Bernie (even if they just don't show)

Then there is the Brexit factor (and/or a version of the Bradley effect since "MSM Trump Hate" is dialed to 11) .. that could be +5 to +20.

The only of those effects Hildabeast has is the cheating, and maybe the GOTV. Soros machines are in 16 states, including FL and PA iirc. From the couple articles I read on that, it was not clear how they cheat, or if there is a paper trail. Dem cheat and machine GOTV in battleground spots ... maybe +20 for the beast, who knows.

The Clinton Crime family is now being implicated in the swift boating of Trump with the women back to the primaries. And the Duck ... everything ... They win by unfairly smearing good men (Romney) and taking big bucks from billionaires and corps.

310 When Obamacare was first proposed, I said then that it was another massive federal program in which the government could hide massive unaccounted spending...

*****

I started to make the case yesterday that Obamacare has succeeded in one thing. That is, it turned 1/6 of the economy into 1/4 of the economy.

Bear with me here.

Increases in private insurance premiums and taxpayer subsidies for those who aren't paying for their own, increased rent seeking (check out the biggest EMR company- EPIC), and a frantic building expansion in the game of musical/medical chairs among hospital systems all serve to increase the numerator.

Depressed economy, lost opportunity costs due to high premiums and high deductibles (hmmm, buy new shoes for Junior or pay our insurance premium this month? Choices, choices, choices), and general uncertainty have shrunk the denominator.

So, if it started at (e.g.) a 4/24 ratio (1/6), it could well be somewhere around 5/20 (1/4).

Never mind for now the likelihood that actual delivery of care has not really expanded.

As I understand it for a fever of uncommon origin (FUO) - they will try to see if it falls under the category of

c) chronic inflammatory disease (like lupus, other autoimmune conditions)
d) rare causes like meds, hyperthyroidism, adrenal issues, & others

398 Great article in the sidebar, on elections (and if they really matter).

The worst of many GOP innovations has been the omnibus budgets. The "government is too big to manage any other way" argument simply says the government is too big, and is not an argument for omnibus budgeting or spending bills.

From the sidebar:

Under our Constitution, the House of Representatives has the power to stop anything it really wants to stop. All that it has to do is to zero out the budget allocated for the activity it wants to stop. If it is unwilling or unable to exercise that power, it should close shop. The Republicans are the victims of their own cowardice.

11/2; .2 lead for Obama

417 I am simply stating that there are many , probably MOST in that field that want the corruption gone. But they are powerless to do anything about it. And most that I know in the field think very much like you do.

They can want in one hand, shit in the other, and see which one gets full the fastest.

What they've done ... what they've chosen ... and what they'll continue to do ... is make a living by implementing force on behalf of the State over the Citizen. When the State is corrupt, Law Enforcement will be a vehicle of that corruption.

But I'll keep an ear out, for all those resignations, when the Laws just ain't Just and the Cops all say in unison "Enough is Enough".

Yep ... America most certainly needs this. Good and hard.

It would be fun to see the Cubs win; however, an Indians win would piss off SJWs, who are griping about their "racist" logo.

The funny thing is that if the Cubs win, they lose the "lovable losers" mystique and all the mythology that surrounds the team and become just another mlb team, just as the Red Sox are now just another team after they broke the Curse of the Bambino.

I'm sure Cubs fans don't care about the mythology because it's one of losing.
