96% of All Journalists' Presidential Campaign Donations Went to Hillary, Absolutely No One Surprised to Learn

Well, one person was surprised. Chris Cillizza. The Washington Post's hapless and ovoid hack who "covers" the presidential race.

That's jumbled, but if you click on each of the two gifs of the tweets embedded, you'll see the hapless and ovoid Chris Cilizza declaring that journalists are absolutely non-partisan one day, then, the very next day, being shocked and stunned that they overwhelmingly give to the Haggard Queen.

Full report on the liberal media's generous donations to Hillary here.

New Yorker television critic Emily Nussbaum, a newly minted Pulitzer Prize winner, spent the Republican National Convention pen-pricking presidential nominee Donald Trump as a misogynist shyster running an “ugly and xenophobic campaign.”

What Nussbaum didn’t disclose in her dispatches: she contributed $250 to Democrat Hillary Clinton in April.

On the nation’s left coast, Les Waldron, an Emmy Award-winning assignment editor at television station KFMB, the CBS affiliate in San Diego, swung right in July, shooting $28 to Trump.

And Carole Simpson, a former ABC “World News Tonight” anchor who in 1992 became the first African-American woman to moderate a presidential debate, is not moderate about her personal politics: the current Emerson College distinguished journalist-in-residence and regular TV news guest has given Clinton $2,800.

34 so, every company has to provide safe harbor statements in their sec filings and during their conference calls.

when investors go on television to discuss equities or whatever they have to disclose whether or not they own the stocks they are recommending with chirons or graphics being displayed beside them as they speak.

reporters should have to disclose their political donations AND every time a reporter speaks there should be an icon to indicate which party they donate to. further, in the event that they donate to both parties, in order to try to demonstrate fairness, the size of the icon should be proportionate to the amount of money they donated to the party. if they donate equal amounts to each party the icons are the same size. if they demonstrated twice as much to the dems as the republicans then the dem icon would be twice as big.

Kennedy offered to help the FBI get more juicy overseas postings agents approved by State, in exchange for the classification change.

Why does this crook Kennedy still have a job? He is nothing but a Clinton campaign operative. He's probably on their payroll.

121 "Looks like the Ecuadorian government is too. Wiki Leaks confirmed that the Ecuador govt. cut off Assange's internet."

Ecuador sued Chevron for billions over "environmental damage" to the Ecuadorean jungle, purportedly caused by a predecessor company now owned by Chevron.

The American ecoholic left lined up and locked arms to back this suit by noble-savage Third Worlders against an eeeevul modern Western fossil fuel company.

The lawsuit turned out to be complete horseshit. Complete with ample evidence of faked testimony and ginned-up "lab results".

But Ecuador would surely be pleased if a new Clinton administration were to let that suit be revived and continue.

So this is a doubleheader for Hillary. She gets to silence a critic in possession of damaging information, and simultaneously gets to play to the "green" voting bloc who she needs to encourage to turn out in November.

179 I guessed it. This lying, corrupt hack Emily Nussbaum is the daughter of Bernie Nussbaum, the Clinton shyster who was assistant to Vince Foster and earlier, served with Crooked Hillary on the squalid 1973-74 Impeachment committee. How crooked was it? Hillary and Bernie tried to prevent cross-examination, limit witnesses, deny Nixon counsel and hide documents that established precedence.

Little known fact; Hillary actually enlisted Nixon's chief accuser John Dean to vet the White House tapes! She also invited Bill to roam the supposedly super-secure rooms where the tapes were held. Bill was directly connected to persons overheard on the tapped phone like Wilbur Mills ( conversations described as explicitly intimate, and sexually graphic"), to persons listed in the black book of a mobbed-up madame named Heidi Rikan and to the actual man who was hired to listen in on the tapped phone of Spencer Oliver, Alfred Baldwin of New Haven.

From Bill Clinton's Memoir My Life: describing his life in New Haven, CT:1970-72

"In addition to my classwork I had two jobs. Even with a scholarship and two different student loans, I needed the money. I worked a few hours a week for Ben Moss, a local lawyer, doing legal research and running errands...

My other job was less hazardous but more interesting. I taught criminal law to undergraduates in a law-enforcement program at the University of New Haven. My position was funded under the Federal Law Enforcement Assistance program, which had just started under Nixon. The classes were designed to produce more professional law officers who could make arrests, searches, and seizures in a constitutional manner. I often had to prepare my lectures late in the evening before the day I delivered them. To stay awake, I did a lot of my work at the Elm Street Diner...

The street outside the diner was the border dividing the territory of two groups of streetwalking prostitutes. From time to time the police took them away, but they were always quickly back at work. The streetwalkers often came into the diner to get coffee and warm up. When they found out I was in law school, several would plop down in my booth in search of free legal advice. I did my best, but none took the best advice: get another job."

From Alfred Baldwin, the Watergate bug eavesdropper hired by Watergate burglar James McCord relating his Watergate era story on The Education Forum: 2005:

Between 1966 and 1972 I worked as the Director of Security for a multi-state trucking firm (Adley Express Company that also employed the Ervin Commmitee Chief Watergate Field Investigator Wayne Bishop). I left this position to work for a retired Naval Admiral who was creating a college degree program for law enforcement personnel who desired a college degree in the police administration and law enforcement field. I was hired as his assistant with the task of hiring adjunct professors as well as teaching law related subjects. The college was the University of New Haven located in New Haven. A shower of gold ... some might say a "golden shower."

"One could argue that people who work in the media — in any capacity — should refrain from making political donations. But because not everyone subscribes to that philosophy, let's be clear about who the donors are: They are TV and food critics, sports and fashion editors, and local news reporters.

It is tempting to view these donation figures as a proxy for journalists' political leanings overall (i.e. 96 percent of journalists are liberal, whether they contribute to campaigns or not), but support for Clinton over Trump is probably an inaccurate gauge. The Fix's tally of prominent Republican politicians, donors and operatives who back Clinton is up to 67, at last check. Preferring the Democrat in this election does not necessarily make you a liberal."

Right. Nice recovery.

I learned all about this in some Congressional hearings (I forget which ones) where bankers and lawyers were explaining how they can have such incredible conflicts of interest but not be compromised even one little bit. All you have to do is say "Chinese Wall" and all of a sudden the conflict of interest totally disappears. It's like "Abracadabra" only much more powerful! You can even say "Chinese Wall" about yourself, if you need to work on two cases that are opposed to each other, say.

Pretty neat stuff. Who knew that multiple personality disorder would become such a foundation of our business and legal ethics? Modern life is so interesting ...

Posted by: Cheri at October 17, 2016 04:22 PM (oiNtH)

This is true, but I think the journalistic business was still cut-throat enough back then that some individuals would still write about "forbidden" topics and try to get scoops before the others did. There were probably more moderate or right-leaning papers at the time that would provide a forum.

I don't think we've ever seen this "all-in" mentality that we see today.

306 Also, in the old days, many journalists were working guys who literally worked their way up from copy boy or go-fer before they got a chance to become a reporter. And then they walked the streets or covered city council meetings. They may have liberal, but it was a default liberalism because they didn't trust the rich and powerful.
Nowadays, reporters get plum, glamorous assignments right out of J-school, and hob-nob with the rich and powerful --who are their contacts and sources ( and in many cases, knew already from college) --and get rich themselves.
