Kellyanne Conway said that many Congressmen have forced tongues down throats and touched women inappropriately, including some of the ones who are falling on to their fainting couches over Trump joking about such things.
For some reason, those who are the most Concerned about Trump's jokes are reacting with horror that Kellyanne Conway might reveal actual bad actions by GOPers they (presumably) support. Not sure if I understand your reasoning here, boys, except that you are being #ConsistentPrincipledGOPEstablishmentHacks by excusing in your GOPe favorites that which you condemn in Trump when he merely jokes about it. By the way, over the weekend, another joke I was telling -- playing on the fainting-couch prudes' of the GOP being shocked that some men actually find women attractive and sometimes comment on that -- was observing women and remarking, "Wow, she is really attractive. You know what I'd like to do to her? Why, I'd like to take her to church and/or the library." But whatever. The Prudes, Moral Scolds, and Humorless Hacks have now decided that thinking a woman is hot and saying so is a disqualification from the presidency. The GOP figured the voters were idiots who could be pandered too come election time, and then immediately betrayed after the votes were cast and counted, because "who else are they going to turn to? The Democrats?"
A nice comfortable arrangement for all of them, politicians and opinion piece writers and the rest. They pretend they're fighting and the money rolls in from people who don't suspect the truth.
Trump threatens all that.

W had a pretty mixed record.
He was the most conservative candidate the Republicans have run since Reagan.
He was right on a number of issues - keep in mind he did try and reel in Fannie Mae before the mortgage meltdown...
But he didn't really fight very hard for most of the things he was right on.
And he did go to the mat for a number of things that were wrong - Amnesty, more government spending, etc.
So overall, very mixed. Had we fought a solid conservative to run in 2000 the world would likely be a different, better place now.

It will be interesting to see how Republican voters will respond to all this, Trump win or no. They were already pissed off at the establishment, which had betrayed them. Now the GOPe has gone out of their way to betray the party in a very public way.
Sounds like the fast track to becoming a minority party for at LEAST a generation to me. If Trump loses, the whole country will be stuck permanently under the same leadership as most major cities, with the same results.

Something occurred to me the other day, Trump is a complete unknown to the establishment. He would be the first President for a very long time with absolutely no experience inside the bureaucracy in any way. What will he do when he gets there and looks behind the curtain. He might react as we would, and decide the place is a cesspool and needs cleaned up. Which brings us to the second point.
Trump as legislator can be stopped easily by Congress and the courts, but Trump as top cop head of every enforcement agency in the Government cannot be stopped. What if he recoils in disgust at what he finds in Washington and the next thing you know 4 gray hound buses, and a convoy of black SUVs pull up in front of Congress and the agents get out and start to round up Congressmen and staffers and put them on the buses to be taken in for processing. Is that a chance the establishment can take?

That's true for most presidents. It will not be true for President Trump. The GOP won't treat him like a Democrat, but they are not going to be as pliable as they would normally be for someone like Jeb!. There will be push back. Ryan will be the leader of that push back.
There are only 2 things that would cause Ryan to step down: either he decides he no longer wants the job or he loses support from the other GOP House members. Neither of those things will happen. He has shown no hesitation to oppose Trump, so he won't quit, and the members elected Ryan by a huge majority not so long ago.

I'm not joking. This occurred to me when I heard what Hillary was rumored to have said after the first townhall thing. I heard she was screaming that Trump would hang them if he got elected, and that got me wondering what she meant.
If you were to scratch the surface on most of them would the corrupt be that obvious? Has corruption become to rampant that they don't bother to even hide it anymore. Would an ordinary guy in charge of enforcement scare them that badly?

As a "LIFELONG" rEPUBLICAN I can honestly say that I do indeed HATE the Republican party.
It's all perfectly rational as to why I hate them of course. The leaders have forgotten their base, could care less about us. Went and saddled up next to the Democrat progressives in such a way that there is no daylight and that's just with the feckless redefined conservatives. Laws and regulations are determined at a global level, so that (1) global business is not inconvenienced by having to cope with differing regulatory regimes from country to country and (2) the deplorable masses have little influence or input into the laws that govern them.

Trump's "accomplishments" are pretty questionable. His company was inherited, and his attempt to explain how it makes money during the first debate was incoherent. He's a trust fund baby who used his money to pretend to be a big shot. He had to be bailed out by his dad, the guy who actually made his fortune for him, several times just to stay in business. People doing important things that make tons of money in the private sector don't need reality TV side gigs, has-been celebrities do. And Trump is much more of a Gary Busey than he is a Ray Kroc, just with a nicer inheritance to work with.
Virtually every national-level celebrity has jobs created around their star power, but rarely do they ever create the industry supporting them, and Trump certainly didn't (as I've commented on in a prior thread, Jehovah's Witnesses have made more money selling off their NYC properties purchased in the 70s than most estimates of Trump's entire wealth). He's a tabloid celebrity, who plays at being a business magnate with daddy's money. And as he says himself, he's a delegator.
