If convicted, Martin faces a maximum sentence of one year in prison for the unauthorized removal and retention of classified materials, and ten years in prison for theft of government property, the release stated.

I've never been a big fan of George Bernard Shaw, so any time someone got the best of him pleases me. This time, it was Mrs. Shaw who bested the playwright.

It seems that Shaw got into a heated discussion over his contention that male judgment was superior to female judgment and asked his wife whether or not he was correct.

"Of course, dear," she replied. "After all, you married me and I you."

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

I tried to watch Red Eye last night, but when they have a dedicated leftist on, one thing you can count on, the leftist will insert the Trump Hate narrative into every damn sentence fragment.

148 I guess I can forget going out to the porch rocker this morning. Idiot neighbor across the steet cleared off the scrub oak woods right in front of my house (strike one), burned all the brush and limbs in a big fire (strike two), ahd killed three pine trees the big fire was under. Now he has a tree company out this morning with a bucket truck to get rid of those dead pine trees.

So it will be chain saws all morning.

Hillary is not even capable of doing an unscripted meet 'n greet with tweens and she wants to be POTUS.

155 I was just pleased to see that at the WC game last night, a cop who died in an explosion in the Bronx last week was honored before the game and his son threw out the first pitch. There was a military honor guard, Itzak Perlman played the National Anthem on the violin and everyone stood respectfully. No black power salutes, no taking a knee or riding the bench during the anthem. MLB millionaires appear to be much more grateful for the opportunities given them than certain NFL spoiled brats are.

What a thing to be happy about: that nobody insulted the country or viewers during the Anthem. That's what we're reduced to.

[Hillary] Clinton in 2009 arranged meetings between Jacqueline Newmyer Deal, a
friend of Chelsea Clinton and head of the defense consulting group Long
Term Strategy Group, with Pentagon officials that involved contracting
discussions, according to emails from Clinton's private server made
public recently by the State Department. Clinton also tried to help Deal
win a contract for consulting work with the State Department's director

Well, that's not necessarily true of the Hispanic players - some of the guys from the DR grew up in shacks. But they seem very aware of just how fortunate they are.

As far as AA players go, I actually read a leftist complaint a few years ago about how a disproportionate number of them come from middle class two-parent families and grew up in the 'burbs. Of course, the writer claimed they were not authentically black because they weren't from the hood.

183 This, I think, is something worth at least considering:

It may be that this country is no longer a "force for good" in the world.

With what we know about what the most transparent government in history is doing (meaning facilitating, coordinating, scheming, etc.) domestically and internationally - nothing - we can look around and see that this country is fucking shit up virtually everywhere.

How is it that a once great country ceases to be great?

I would submit that it ceases to be great when what it was great for, is no longer valid.

This country was once the beacon of liberty for the entire world. There are more than a dozen countries around the world with what has been evaluated to be more liberty than what we have here.

Hillary Clinton destroyed a country. Obama and his administration have overseen the deaths of probably millions and have effectively embraced the evil that has brought it about.

We have a defense and intelligence budget larger than the rest of the world combined. Where the fuck is that money going? Our intelligence services are largely viewed as incompetent and we can't field competitive aircraft.

Just a couple of things to think about.

The definition they use when they say this is the same kind of definition bureaucrats use when they talk about 'terrorism.'

They insist that racism is an institutional thing, that it requires this and that, etc., yet they conversely they'll call you a racist if you use a non-approved word.

See, the bureaucratic definition of 'racist' is used to absolve them of their bigotry (we don't have power, see???), but any slight they perceive from you is an indictment of your race and society.

Of course, they still use the average person's definition of racist when they want to malign you personally. Word games, straight out of Orwell.

224 Ok, NFL guys went to college, maybe some of them, but since my kid played baseball I'm using my frame of reference. I think you had to be of a different caliber to go to college on a baseball scholarship. Maybe I mean something as simple as the colleges with excellent baseball programs expect their baseball players know how to sign their name to a contract and the football colleges only expect their players to be able to make an "X" on the contract.

It's not just that, we are financing the illusion of our ongoing greatness with mountains of debt. What are we getting for our money... that we don't have?

Look at what our government is doing domestically. They are almost certainly acting just as bad internationally as they are domestically. That this country is more divided now than it ever was as long as I have been alive, is no accident. That we live now in a polarized binary society, is no accident either. Black vs. white, right vs left, gay vs straight, female vs male.

Hell, I don't know.

It used to be that people came here for liberty. The only reason why people are still trying to get into this country is for the handouts. Plus, if you are the right kind of person, somebody who isn't white or male or citizen or non-criminal, or Jew or Christian; the government will help you get over on everyone who doesn't fit within that category.

It's a good goddamned thing that whenever we want something, we can just go get it - bread and circuses - or people might actually start thinking about shit.

If that is ever not the case - suddenly - I'd take odds on how screwed most of really are.

234 What's funny about Meghan Kelly's butthurt is that early in the campaign, you could not avoid seeing Trump on tv - he met with anyone who invited them on their show, failing that, he made himself available as a call-in interviewee. The MSM was all up in arms because they haaaated Trump but they couldn't not interview him because he was *so dang available to them'* unlike every other candidate, Hillary in particular. No scripts, no boundaries, just Trump asking them "Where and when do you want me?'

In this case, he really is just being more selective. With the election so close, he needs to focus on positive media engagements, not stroking the ego of a particular news personality.

It's not about getting a grip. It's about not being a voluntary dupe. Many people on this board have served and many have served in combat. That doesn't mean that people can't question the decisions that this country is making and the deception they are perpetrating on all of us. For the better part of three decades I felt like this country betrayed the sacrifices of the people I served with In SE Asia. Both A-stan and Iraq were won because of the sacrifices of good Americans and those victories were shit canned as if those men and women had never lived.

This shit is not right. In fact, it is wrong.

I just think that it is worth thinking about more profoundly than just believing the hollow platitudes to a country that no longer exists, and probably hasn't since the Korean war.

Yeah. Except people will rip on the media one second and in the next breath, they'll say "What about Trump's taxes? Oh, yeah, and he's mean to women!"

It's like how everyone-everyone, including libs makes jokes about how incompetent the government is, about the DMV, about the post office, and yes, don't we all hate the IRS - and then they vote for more of it.

Obama's approval rating, after 8 years of dreck hovers around 50%. How can that people. People bitch about the shit sandwiches they're given - but they still eat them.

IIRC, a lot of Chelsea's event's require purchasing a ticket, so that would be 125 people who likely paid $100+ for the privilege of being in the same room with dear, sweet Chelsea.

Nobody - at least not me - is pining about a time when everything was without care, and how you pull that from anything said is exactly the point of why it was said in the first place.

You concluded, that things were great 'once upon a time' when what was said is that this country, and what it was founded on, were worth ideals. Those ideals, and that foundation are what have been seriously eroded.

I do think there was a Golden Age. I think post-WW2 there was a sense of us all being Americans together, no matter the differences in political parties. I remember Republicans and Democrats having good-faith arguments. I remember when politics stopped at the water's edge.

I remember when it was not usually necessary for women to find jobs to help support their families, and they were there to raise their children. I remember when it was common to ask "What church do you go to?" I remember lining up for lunch and the teacher saying grace. I remember playing in the backyard or the next neighborhood till dark and no one being afraid to do so.
