71 Look - Bill was/is a contemptible (yet the left would tell us, charming and lovable) lothario who committed criminal acts for which he was impeached and should have been convicted.

Hillary, on the other hand, in her zeal to see one man dead - Ghaddafi - destroyed a country...

A COUNTRY.

With the help of Obama, she destroyed a country and sealed the deaths of tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of people, including four Americans, one of whom was one of only six (I believe) ambassadors to this country who have ever been killed in their service.

She destroyed a country, killed countless people who did not have to die, AND she set the conditions of creation of a terrorist state that will go on killing people until G-d only knows when.

Plus she committed numerous crimes for which she will not be held to account. Crimes spelled out in detailed testimony before congress in a wholly corrupt investigation that the director of the weasels of the FBI ordered us to ignore.

Lib: I support an end to religion, which is just primitive superstition, and Capitalism. We must support workers' and women's rights.

Me: why not invite in millions of Muslims into the country?

Lib: but... but they are *ugh* religious. They oppress women. They do not care about the plight of the worker...

Me: but Western civilization is evil. They will help to destroy it.

Lib: Yes! True! I never thought of it that way.

Me: you know, the Christians in this country whom you so despise think that Muslims follow a false religion. They are such bigots. So the Muslims need you to stick up for them. They are like innocent animals, really. Underdogs. They will look to you to lead them, they can be your new voting bloc. They will also help you to put an end to Christianity and Judaism. And let's face it. Deep down, you'd really like to keep those uppity women in line. You can use them as a stalking horse to achieve that, while paying lip service to feminism.

That was my point. Academics hated and feared Pinochet because his secret ,police disappeared a host of leftist college types. And it sort of works either way. Some might equate Hillary with Pinochet, and see her becoming the sort of dictator that would simply liquidate the opposition, and others might see a "Pinochet" arising because of the excesses of the leftist Hillary regime, which might be avoidable if they nut up and vote Trump.

In fact it's righteous for them to engage oin all that because they are doing the Lord's work and "saving" us.

177 We will enter a time when LIVs will wonder, "I thought we were a democracy. Why is there only one candidate? And why are they so awful? Oh well, guess I'll just do my civic duty and vote for them".

They will be trapped in totalitarianism and won't remember that because they were so lazy about "little" things, from Candy Crowley to Lois Lerner to electing Hillary, that they let such a system come into being. It will be too late. Any potential opposition candidate will be forced out somehow. The trap will have snapped shut. No escape. Trapped in Hillary's jaws like in Angie Babie.

I don't want anyone to thing that a Pinochet is a good option. It is very rare to work, and I am thinking the only thing that kept Pinochet's regime from being equal to Franco's, Stroessner's or any other is that Milton Friedman talked economics to him. The economic changes gave enough space economically for things to turn around, and the dicatorship gave enough suppression to hold things together for the economic changes to start working.

Leftists and Communists hate Pinochet and the economic turn around he made possible. It shows they are wrong in economics.

Classic liberals hate Pinochet because it indicates that the commitment to personal liberty and representative government is not an absolute for success and growth of an economy.

201 Since the thread below in which there are numerous references to the "Internet handoff" is dead, I will post this here.

I really didn't know exactly what was being handed off other than the ability to apply for domain names, etc. something being handled until Oct. 1 by a department in the US government.

People on here have been shredding their representatives for "voting for this". Posters keep stating that the internet is now owned by the UN.

So, I decided to utilize that crazy old internet and find out what really happend.

1. Since the first public application of the internet, the US government has overseen domain name addresses, and other unique identifiers by a working group embedded in the US Department of Commerce called the NTIA( National Telecommunications and Information Administration). Every Presidential administration since 1998 has wanted to transfer this responsibility to an independent, non governmental group.

Testimony from the Assistant Secretary for this working group three weeks ago affirmed that every one of these administrations has refused to allow the functions of NITA and the IANA to be given, contracted, or delegated to the UN , or any other governmental controlled body.

ICANN is a privatized organization with stake holders from the commercial and noncommercial users of the internet and has met the requirements of the transfer.

The entire thing is extremely complicated, detailed, and involves more committees and working groups than the US government, the UN and the NCAA combined.

But the gist of it is that DNS needs will be handled by a group who is large and made up of internet and commercials representatives from around the world. It is a private group, with no single government involvement. Including whatever Marxist crap may continue on in Washington. Instead of worrying about some obscure Muslim complaint about a non sharia compliant domain name, having DNS functions be overseen by this current adminstration ought to have given everyone pause.

Here is the testimony of the Assistant Secretary.

I think what people don't understand is that the USA doesn't own the internet. No one does. All the US gov. was doing was approving and assigning domain names, and ISP addresses.

I just took the time to read the Market Watch blog article about this that is linked on the sidebar. Yes, it's a slam at Cruz, but the author does have a major point. This DNS handoff to a private group has been in the works for 18 years. The contract the US gov. had to continue the work of the NTIA was allowed to expire and the departments work has now been transferred to ICANN. Obama did not come up with this in the last couple of years. The Clinton Administration wanted it privatized( imagine, a Federal administration that wants to privatize something it's in charge of , it's mindboggling), as did the Bush Administration, then the torch was passed to the Obama cartel.

The private group is so large I can't imagine it ever being able to intitiate any kind of meaningful changes, LOL.

Here is the issue. ICANN is a non profit corporation currently incorporated in California.

It has two ruling bodies... the Board of Directors, which is an international Group.... and an International Advisory group, made up of over 100 countries representatives.

If you dig a bit into the Board of directors.... ie those who actually control the rules the corporation works under... it is more foreign, than US... and most of those countries do NOT have a tradition of Natural Rights...

So while there is no immediate change to the internet.... and no its NOT under UN control.... we have no idea what the Board of Directors will do WITH said control.

THEY could vote to hand control over.... or to separate the namespace... or to partition IP addresses as to country (IPV6 which is what some of us use now, but will become the standard in the future...).

208 We have to remember that the media, the Democrats, Hollywood, Academia and large swaths of the GOP and Wall Street really do believe that Trump is an existential threat. Therefore, any and all means of foul play, dirty tricks, lying, cheating and stealing that they engage in to prevent him from winning is totes fair. In fact it's righteous for them to engage oin all that because they are doing the Lord's work and "saving" us.

For all the left's attempt to say that we "otherize" people who "don't look like us", it is they who are doing it--to Trump and his voters.

209 "We have to remember that the media, the Democrats, Hollywood, Academia

is an existential threat." gNewt

yeah, threat to whom?

Threat to the advancement of globalist power ... threat to cabals that are too big to fail, too big to jail. Threat to criminal activity inside the IRS, and how many other agencies?

The real threat is all them ... Wall Street seems to run policy now. Maybe it began when bankers got control of printing money and setting monetary policy. But now their answer to keep their leveraged game going ... go global for one (escape US law), and go negative on interest rates. (from ZIRP to NIRP).

Do they really think Trump is a threat to America? Maybe the idiots do, those that are desperate to be called "smart" they they have a degree (but are still idiots). They are so weak minded, they fear being called redneck racist Trump supporters.

But does Hillary really believe Trump is a threat to America? Do any of the coastal elite like so many tied to the "syndicates"? No, like Harry Reid and others, they love the dirty money and the power, and real law and order would imprison a lot of them. They know it.

211 I was first election I was eligible to vote was in the 1972 when the voting age was still 21. I was over off the coast of Vietnam bombing the shit out of the commies. I didn't even try to get a ballot. Nixon won anyway. I tried to get an absentee ballot for the 1976 election but my application got sent back. The first election I got to vote in was 1980 after I was here. And yes it was for RR. I voted for Bush 1in 88 because he said he would be RR-II. He lied but I still voted for him over Bubba. He lost due to Ross Perot and dissatisfaction with his lips.

Error, error. You facts are uncoordinated. (Doing my Nomad imitation... Actually, in 1972 the voting age had just been lowered to 18, which is why that was the first election I voted in, and I
(and a fellow high school chum who went with me) voted for Nixon. There really was a reason the Dim McCarthy lost by a landslide that year.
