27 I'm still not sure how I feel about police wearing cameras and whether it is a good thing or not. On balance, it seems like it is for the most part good - more accountability, etc.

But this shows some of the limitations.

Right now, I sort of liken it to instant replay in football. There are still mistakes, and I'm not sure the negative (e.g., longer football games) outweighs the good (e.g., correcting calls).

Not only that. A guy I work with who's son is a cop told me that now that they have bodycams, they just can't "let people go" at the cop's discretion. So , if you get pulled over for something like a traffic violation, you WILL get a ticket because it's all documented now. No more being let off with a friendly warning...

Mr Scott is a convicted FELON that spent SEVEN years in a TX prison, for among other things, assault and carrying a concealed weapon. Possession of a gun by him is a felony.

Scott refuses to drop weapon and walks toward another cop and a BLACK cop, who's dad was a cop, shoots him.

Oh, and the "protester" killed at one of the riots? His murderer, a thug from out of state, CONFESSED to the killing today.

Only to get caught on foot, punching one officer in the face during the arrest.

It is a total mystery why anyone would have the slightest doubt.

108 Here's a theory on BLM. It's all Michael Bloomberg's fault.

Rudy used stop-and-frisk to get guns off the streets. Bad guys were often carrying guns because all the other bad guys had them. So a bad cycle got broken.

Bloomberg can be a shithead wonk and under his reign forced the NYPD to increase stop-and-frisk six-fold (from just under 100,000 per year to over 600,000). Rightfully, a lot of minorities got tired of getting tossed. Especially if the cop found a dime bag of weed that got you sent to Central Booking for 20 to 40 hours until you got processed.

DiBlasio exploited this wedge issue over police encounters with minorities. That and the promise of universal pre-K got DiBlasio elected.

BLM took this and went nationwide and focused on the meme of shootings, even though shootings have actually been going down.

Another canard we're hearing is that stop-and-frisk is unconstitutional. There was a NYC case where an activist lower court judge so ruled, but she was actually personally reprimanded by the 2nd Circuit. Before the case could proceed, DiBlasio was elected and dropped NYC's appeal (the city was the defendant) so that's the only reason why the ruling stands.

When a impressionable black truly believes that he will be targeted by police and then shot without provocation or a chance of compliance, they are for more likely to be belligerent and even combative. The same is also tue for Police officers who know that they are being targeted and ambushed. So a combative or even just edgy Black suspect suddenly is a much bigger threat.
The BLM and Media are more responsible for Police shootings than they are for any solution to them. They are a cause, not a cure.
