Trump Appoints Noted Climate Change Skeptic to Lead EPA Transition Team

Well this doesn't sound very conservative at all.

True conservatism consists of making soft, timid noises and then going along with the leftist-mediated narrative.

ld Trump is tapping a high-profile climate change skeptic to lead administration transition efforts for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Myron Ebell, director of energy and environment policy at the conservative think tank Competitive Enterprise Institute, is heading Trump’s EPA transition preparation, E&E Daily reported Monday.

Ebell is an outspoken, long-time skeptic of the scientific consensus that human activity is dramatically changing the climate. He often refers to warnings about global warming as climate "alarmism," and is a vocal critic of President Obama’s climate change regulations.

126 I've been positive about trump (not a lesser of two evils) because I see globalization as the gravest existential threat to the US way of life since the soviets popped their first A bomb. The global warming scam is a cornerstone of that movement for population and industry control by the state. Globalization is fully supported by GOPe in addition to DNC. The failure theater was not being stupid or scared of the MSM but intentional to achieve a desired chamber of commerce outcome.

To me, ALL the other conservative nit picks against Trump are the trees blocking the view of the Forrest.

IF he can remotely pull this off, get elected and stop the march toward the USA of France... he will literally IMO have saved America and I was about certain that it was simply too late to happen before he came along.

I disagree with the comparison and Schwarzneggar ran as a VERY moderate Republican that basically agreed with entire liberal agenda except for a few spending areas.

And even then, Arnie put a shit load of his own money into voter referendums to limit the state unions. he found out just how liberal the state really was and who owned it when they were soundly beaten

But regardless, can you really say you "believed" all of the other "severely" conservative Republicans that were running purely because they said so?

I once worked for a private company a decade ago that had only 15 employees and even WE understood that principle. Hell, there were *procedures* to de-activate an employee's account when they terminated, and there was an actual reconciliation to ensure that "active accounts = active employees". This isn't rocket surgery.

I think he's always deeply wanted it, but he's been trying it for like the last 30 years and finally found an issue the Silent Majority had been yearning for with illegal immigration.

let's be honest though, a lot of the Republicans that ran knew it was a long shot bid foe themselves as well.

Some though handled it better than others. The fact that Jeb was so devastated shows how delusional that family had become

Absolutely.

Trump had dipped his toe in the race in 2012 and saw what he could do with one little issue that the Vichy GOP dirtbags were scared to death to even address. This time, he figured that he had a big one and could take it all the way. No question. His business wasn't going to be helped by his run. He had to be serious about it from the start.

If Trump can win Ohio, Florida, and North Carolina then all he needs is one of those Midwestern blue wall states to go Republican, or the Colorado/Nevada combo. I have seen some bizarre poll numbers out of Minnesota and Illinois in the last couple of days which may hint that the wall is cracking.

500 Anonosaurus, you obviously are not a Gilligan's Island aficionado., they tried to patch the hole with glue the professor invented by Gilligan found out it was only good for short term saving them from a possible sinking.
Posted by: Skip

That was also the theme of an Odd Couple episode. Felix invested Oscar's gambling money in a dentist who had invented a glue out of barnacles (what caused them to stick to ships' hulls).

Problem is the glue only worked temporarily. When the time came for them to do a demo, things that were glued together started coming apart.

The reason this problem was undetected was because it only lost its grip when it was dry, and the dentist used it to fix people's teeth, so it usually remained wet.

When the demo went bad, Oscar's mouth went dry and his tooth fell out.

I told the new mayor I called it that, and she said, "OMG so do I!!!" Nothing works as it should, but if you get the right person, they're so "Oh, honey, we'll get that for you. or come on down and we'll set you up." Totally disorganized and trying to run the city like it was 1922.

Just asking. I mean if we're hunkering down during the Great Unraveling, I want to have the complete Western Canon (to include Star Trek in its many iterations) and stuff, sure, but a little Ann Rice action to keep it medieval....

555 @261 Honest answer, do you think he started this race with the intention of winning? I certainly don't, and I would love to be a fly on the wall and be there the moment this changed. What happened? was it a casual aside? Was it a moment of grace or a flash of anger?
-----------------------------

I think it's the fact that he realized that he was going to win the Republican nomination.

When the field was crowded, he was just one more guy out of over a dozen. But then he got momentum, things started to build up, and next thing he knew he was the nominee-to-be for the Republican party. I suspect that's the point where he sat down and realized that he was going to have to start taking this thing seriously.

562 My approach to climate change is to ask why climate alarmists seek to enshrine a certain climatological standard as "acceptable" and all others as "unacceptable," and use their unacknowledged climate privilege and unexamined thermophobia to engage in climate imperialism against marginalized populations.
