Trump needs some go-to lines in case things get a little squirrely. Something homey, friendly, deflecting. Was it Reagan who used, 'There you go again.'?
So far, I've seen some really good stuff from his advisers. Hope they prepare for the curve balls so it doesn't look like a swing and a miss. Also something to deal with a nasty moderator, to put them in their place.

I knew a girl in New Jersey. She was proudly some huge percentage native American. Her parents both looked pretty much stereotypical NA. But she looked absolutely French. She had this narrow nose - imagine Paris Hilton -- that she hated. I told her she was nutz.

274 One of my nephews, who is adopted and is half Mexican, has the idea that he must be part American Indian and wants to get a DNA test. He thinks he'd be able to get in on that sweet casino money that way.
He's a mess. 30 years old, went to school to become an electrician, dropped out after one semester and has worked a variety of low-level jobs since then, while spending his abundant free time writing a novel and smoking pot, but mostly smoking pot. He has an apartment but is still subsidized by his parents. He asked me for money to pay his electrical bill last month. I said no. He got the money from mom and dad because they don't want him moving back home.
He does not want to work. I love him, but I can barely stand talking to him because he's basically one big millenial ball of entitlement. And yes, I blame my brother and SIL for enabling him all these years.
He mooches off of us, takes and takes, and yet feels superior to all of us. He shows up at family gatherings for the free meal but never gives anybody so much as a birthday card.
I told his sister, a smart girl who will be graduating in December with a degree in accounting: "You know, he'll be living in your basement when he's 50."
He's not what I would call handsome (has a f'ing man bun) but somehow he pulls chicks. Pretty ones too. Not for long but he gets them. It's an utter mystery to me because I don't see what they see in a semi-employed pot smoking hipster with no money.

I was explaining that to a young man who lives in a Favela in Rio last night. Communism was forgivable if still loathsome in 1917 as it had not been tried on that scale before. "We'll all get free land and be the owners of all production!" Well why not sounds great to a peasant with a 6th grade education? Thing is there are track records to be compared. It fails every time and is unfair and inequitable before it fails unceasingly.

See, this was always my problem. I worked 40-50 hour weeks, I never hit a woman, I take care of my money, and the chicks went to the abusive stoners who generally were paycheck to paycheck and in hock to the payday loan companies.
