McClatchey Reporter: Yes, Jim Asher Told Me to Look Into Obama's Alleged Kenyan Connection

He doesn't say that Asher told him Blumenthal suggested this avenue of investigation, but why would Asher tell him that? A reporter doesn't disclose to a much-more-junior reporter what confidential source is pushing a tip on him.

This is certainly a mile of confirmation for Asher's story -- many of the doubters, both the acknowledged Hillary supporters and the unacknowledged NeverTrump Hillary supporters-- knocked the story down by claiming "Well where's the reporter who looked into this, huh?"

First of all: McClatchy ran the story on their own former editor's statement. They would have said something if their investigation had uncovered the fact that no one at McClatchy ever looked into this.

So, the very fact the story ran at all strongly suggested -- more or less proved, for those of us not shaking pom-poms for Hillary -- that McClatchy had, in fact, verified this part of the story.

Second of all: Well, you were wrong, guys. Again.

But keep spinning for your gal.

Still vigorously spinning for Hillary: Politico, naturally, and even more naturally biased hack Blake Housnell, who plays stenographer for Blumenthal, and credulously relays Blumenthal's claim that he didn't push Birtherism, no, certainly not, he merely urged reporters to look into Obama's connections to Kenya.

What?

Housnell pushes this crap despite his own reporting disclosing the fact that two McClatchy reporters say they were well aware that Asher and Blumenthal were talking during this period -- and then Asher, just coincidentally, sent one on a wild goose chase to Kenya.

I guess, like Ahmad Khan Rahami's motive, we can just never know for sure.

In some cases you might find two different sources who have some common connection.

All the news is orchestrated. News repeaters don't do investigations and uncover the news. News repeaters take phone calls from unnamed inside sources who are not authorized to speak to the press, but do anyway, and have knowledge of the situation and confide in the one priviledged very import news repeater before the source hangs up the phone and calls to the next guy on the list.

1)
Obama knew it was something Republicans would look stupid going after so he played with it enough to get people upset and keep it alive. So the fault lies with Obama for not killing this issue.

or

2)
There was something there that he wanted to hide.

I personally believe in the 2nd scenario because if a politician can easily clear up an alleged scandal that may hurt them with voters, they won't risk keeping it alive.

But obviously at this point it's just a distraction and we should move on. Trump Pence should simply just repeat that Hillary brought it up first in 2008.

Good lord, George W' civility and refusal to "sully the office of president" and fight back against the daily accusation of the left helped win the WH for Obama.
Of all the things one could accuse him of, not being civil is about as far from reality as it gets.

He has been virtually underground during the entire Obama presidency. He has steadfastly refused to comment on Obama's two terms, stating that he knew what it was like to be criticized as president and would not be engaging in it.

His mother has said more about Obama than GW has, in that she doesn't like the criticism he was receiving from Obama even after Obama won the WH.

It has been rare to even find an article about what Bush was doing currently during the last 8 years. Opening his presidential library and attending funerals of politicians, etc. is about it.

I think that's a good idea, but one reason it happens less than it should perhaps, is people's fears, either that their kid will be molested. Or not given a shot. So they bias against other people's kids.

Honestly though, his son/my friend, was probably better at short than I would have been. Great at most of it, just not terribly consistent. Still, I should have at least been the backup. Instead, I got "stuck" in the outfield, because I DID have the best arm on the team.

Just read an article about this. Harvey says he has no involvement in this lawsuit,which is being brought by Diversity racing owner, Terrence Cox. He said Harvey wanted to start a Nascar team and was denied by Nascar because they won't allow black owners.

One problem. Harvey says it's a flat out lie, he never wanted to start a Nascar team. He simply wanted to expose underprivileged kids to Nascar and this Cox guy is using his name in his lawsuit. LOL.

I disagree. Internal pollsters get paid to try to be objective.

Here are my assumptions, which if I were a pro I'd charge to validate:

1) Black turnout, especially among black men, will be lower. Trump should get at least a smidgen more of those who vote than Romney.

2) White non-college will have a higher turnout and a larger R vote than Romney -- this was Mitt's big problem, as this is the largest cohort by far.

3) Hispanics and Asians will be a push.

4) Youth turnout will be down, and many of those who do vote will vote for the Pothead.

5) Trump's challenge is with White College. Many of the Women here are die hard Hillary. Between now and November Trump can keep driving up her negatives, to suppress turnout. Hopefully the Rs in this cohort come home in the end.

Put this into the 538 interactive map and most realistic scenarios show a Trump win. I expect at least 300 EVs.

334 I'm no rocket surgeon but Hillary's brain connections remind me of the time a squirrel partially ate through the wiring harness on a Dodge Caravan I owned. All kinds of funky stuff happened and then it just stopped working.
It was really annoying because I had to spend $1500 to fix it but it didn't actually improve the vehicle (other than letting it run) or it's longevity like replacing brakes or struts or other mechanical parts would have done.
