1 That immunity is indication, if not proof, that the FBI had fully intended on prosecuting Scankles. Now what could have made them change their mind?

I wonder.

63 Re the story about the Michigan county where 6 of the 7 county commissioners were voted out of office - a large proportion of summer homes in a county leads to a sense of invulnerability among the county officials. 67 Big Gym can sure 'nuff buy it some hifalutin research. Sure, regular "exercise" will save you all sorts of health trouble. You could get that by taking a walk, riding a bicycle, or doing old-fashioned chores in lawn and garden. But now we have a price point: anything up to $200 a month for gym membership is a wash. Hell, your single-payer health care ("Our" system of health care) ought to pay for that.

Not everyone prospers and thrives from the gym scene. It's very much an urban/close suburban social phenomenon. I look for the day when it's mandatory, like in junior high. That's...who we are.

80 Good morning Everyone!

I am jazzed this morning.

A couple years ago I designed and built a couple prototype control/interface devices for a very large compressed air storage system. Up to 500 psi, (which is what we hydro tested them to....they're actually capable of much more). The market for these things vanished when the price of natural gas fell. As it turns out, these drilling companies have contracts that they are obligated to fulfill, and as previously fracked wells are starting to sour, they're resuming drilling operations. Yay.

Even though I left the company detailed schematics, diagrams, and notes.....they want me to make more of these devices, as they put together more 'air pacs'. The boss actually came to my house this morning, and was banging on my door. I'm going to meet with him a bit later this morning at the shop, and go over things, before committing myself to this project.

I'm jazzed, because I've been out of work since being diagnosed with Leukemia. I've been incapable of doing any work since then. This is something I might actually be able to do, and make some money too. So yeah.

The air pacs, as they're called, consist of 9 steel tubes, 3 feet across, and 30 feet long. All are connected together, and air in/out is controlled by two ganged valves, so that there are three states....isolated, no air in or out. Active, air out, no air in. Charge, air in, no air out. The outlet is a six inch diameter flange coupling, rated at 5000 psi.

We test these things by pumping as much air as possible into them, then letting it all out at once, (testing each of it's three operational modes). It's glorious. Louder than a jet engine, chunks of ice are blown out with such force that they punch holes in walls, and tear exterior doors off their hinges at thirty feet. It can be heard about a mile away. This is at 65 PSI...the best we could do at the time with the big compressor.

Jazzed. Owner of a company, banging on my door, asking me to work. Jazzed. Plus a really fun project.

Back in the early '90s I bought a cabin near Traverse City for 200K. The property taxes were almost as much as my main residence worth 5 times as much. This was due to the "homestead" provision which applies to your residence but not a vacation home.

We had no vote or say in how those taxes were spent. So in a community where the vast majority of properties are non-resident vacation homes, the county is bringing in mega-bucks and a small population of locals are calling the shots.

They could have picked each kid up in a limo for school.

Posted by: WOPR - Nationalist at September 09, 2016 07:59 AM (Ee2nz)

Goldberg and many other non-Trump fans (particularly Jewish Conservatives who encountered their anti-antisemitism) were worried about the alt-right since early in the primary. In fact, its an indictment of the MSM that they only began talking about the alt-right when it would help Clinton and when leftist commentators began encountering them rather then earlier, when they were attacking Conservative with vile invective and discussion of the movement would have helped the MSM's chosen GOP candidate, Trump.

Posted by: Anon a mouse... at September 09, 2016 08:39 AM (C9pBZ)

A combination of low voltage control signals. Spring loaded master arm switch, that must be held closed, and DPDT spring loaded mode switch to set the two valves into open/closed states. There's a 'bump' mode too, which allows proportional control of the valves, but the drillers don't like it. The control box is placed in the 'dog house', where the driller does his work. It displays pressure, and has indicators for valve states, and power, (110VAC, 12VDC, 3VDC at the interface, and 110VAC at the valves). Settable audible alarm for low/high pressure....(a BEEP BEEP BEEP automotive backup alarm I picked up at Autozone for about ten bucks, and a small relay).

Lol. That pretty much describes drillers. The 'bump' mode meant that someone had to just stand there, holding switches instead of doing productive work. Drilling costs them a lot of money, and they like to cut down on idle time....hence the air pacs, which can pressurize 10k feet of drill pipe in seconds, as opposed to minutes with a compressor alone.

I was surprised by how well the Denver QB played and full credit to the Denver offensive line for giving him protection.

Speaking of that, the Panthers have to be concerned for Cam, not just that he got his bell rung but if that's going to be a problem all season. Not enough data since only one game but it does look like teams have some excellent scouting on how to get to him. That will be a major problem going forward.

I'm still all butthurt that someone said the Browns have zero chance to make it to the Super Bowl in 2017. Excuse me, but the Browns have a negative probability of making it to the Super Bowl from now until 2050, at least, thank you very much.

248 Haverford. Funny how these things come up. John Coleman, their Big Hippie president in the 60's, died yesterday. He's the one who took his sabbatical year and worked as a trash collector. It didn't kill him: he lived to 95.

There is such a thing as righteous anger. But one must be very careful how it is channeled.

252 I was as football starved as the next person last night, but the rage these SJW tactics has induced made it very easy to change the channel.

I watched mountain men instead and thought the whole time,,,, Idaho is really, really nice. These guys have it figured out. I would love to unplug completely.

253 "9/11 should be National Bomb an Effing Jihadi Enclave Day.

It should be a day when terrorists quake in fear and wail in grief and curse the corpse of Bin Laden."

This times .... a lot.

I would enjoy the idea of every jihadi in the world busily plying their shovels to get their trenches a little deeper, adding another yard of dirt on top of the bunker, etc. as the 11th is coming up.

254 Here's another funny story about lighting in the church. Well, it may not be funny to anyone else, but I'm easily amused. ;^)

Earlier this week I went to a service at the Eastern Orthodox Church celebrating the nativity of the Virgin Mary-which is not in the Bible, but it's part of tradition. It seemed kind of dark in the church but it made it nice with all the skinny candles they light near the icons.

I met the priest's wife at the store several days later and I said, "The choir sounded great".( She sings with the choir.) "It was really dark in there and it was hard for us because a lot of us have eye issues," she said." I was going to say something to Fr. ______ but I didn't want to upset him. (I didn't ask her why it would upset him, except maybe a mundane thing would distract him from the service?") "Afterwards he said to me, 'I was hoping that someone would turn on the lights." I replied, "That's funny. You may have thought that there was some deep spiritual meaning to the church being dark and he was hoping someone would turn on the lights."

Maybe i just shouldn't go to church events if it leads to darkness. ;^)

beet juice in mine, mostly for rollover protection on my hills, though weight is good for traction in some cases.

261 All youse guys with fluid in your "tyres" -- y'a'll got inner tubes in them?
We always used a calcium chloride solution, and just once some got pumped into a tubeless tire. Wheel rusted through in nothing, well, flat. Once burned, now I insist on tubes whenever a liquid goes in there. It's worth having, though, for sure.

The nicest wedding ceremony I ever attended was a candlelight wedding mass. The bride was a member of the church for years and had contributed years to the churches youth group as counselor. The only light, except on the altar, were these really tall candles at each end of every pew.

The bride had a couple of hundred parents and children on 'her' side, while 'my' side had maybe fifty. It took me years to appreciate just how special they had prepared the church. I've never been to a wedding ceremony since that was that nice.

supposedly beet juice protects from the rust ... CaCl sounds like it would probably accelerate rust. But I just put in what they suggested, without really researching it.

That sounds lovely. I think candles in a darkened church are lovely. I was just amused that nobody in the congregation turned on more lights thinking it was intended to be that dark.

267 NYT Question - "Did the FBI botch Clinton case by granting immunity to the two IT flunkies who deleted the emails?"

Well, it depends on the meaning of the word "botched", doesn't it.

But seriously, does immunity from prosecution mean immunity from testifying?
