Maine Governor Paul LePage Said to be Considering Resigning After Leaving Profanity-Filled Tirade on in Reporer's Voicemail

Trumpian, except for the apology and remorse part.

After a reporter (get this!) called him a racist, LaPage left a mean voicemail for him.

“Mr. Gattine, this is Gov. Paul Richard LePage,” a recording of the governor’s phone message says. “I would like to talk to you about your comments about my being a racist, you (expletive). I want to talk to you. I want you to prove that I’m a racist. I’ve spent my life helping black people and you little son-of-a-bitch, socialist (expletive). You … I need you to, just friggin. I want you to record this and make it public because I am after you. Thank you.”

Now he says he's considering all options to make amends, including the possibility of leaving his second gubernatorial term unfinished.

“I’m looking at all options,” the Republican governor said while appearing on WVOM, a Bangor talk radio station. “I think some things I’ve been asked to do are beyond my ability. I’m not going to say that I’m not going to finish it. I’m not saying that I am going to finish it.”

He later said, “If I’ve lost my ability to help Maine people, maybe it’s time to move on.”

Oy. Come on. Reporters are scum. It is known.

It is known.

24 This morning, the local Boston news radio was all atwitter about LePage's comments in some bullshit East Coast governor / mayor / premier forum about drugs in Maine coming from the cities of Lowell and Lawrence in Massachusetts.

Naturally, anyone with half a brain knows he's absolutely right, but since Lawrence is majority Hispanic, his comments were instantly dismissed as racist.

I hope he doesn't resign. I will have lost a lot of respect for him if he does.

Reporters are scum. It is known.

Yes. Which is why a President Trump needs to punish the bastards by revoking all press passes for the White House and refusing any interviews, either of himself or any member of his administration. There is nothing in the constitution that requires a president to succor or host his sworn enemies. Make them pay.

33 Whoops! Actually, Ace, there's a little bit of loose shit here.

LePage didn't leave the voicemail on a reporter's line. It was a Dem representative from Westbrook who called him a racist and LePage left the tirade on the representative's phone line.

35 It's pretty clear from the article that the liberal press misinterpreted something, thinking he might resign.

He has no intention of resigning.

The best political move for him to make is the reiterate that if any of the press imply that he's a racist, he will not only repeat the recorded message to them but knock their teeth out.

Yep. Dat dere's a good book.

The apology is the admission of guilt. Otherwise, why apologize? Then after you admit guilt, whatever you did is further spun to make you look worse, and then you are beaten about the head with it.

The whole point of an apology is the social signal of wanting to establish, or reestablish, an amicable relationship between parties. "Hey, I'm sorry I called your wife a fat ho", "no problem, she has put on a few pounds, ya know". But the SJWs are not your friend, never were, never will be, and simply want you purged or silenced. Converting you would just be a plus. So why ever apologize?

That creates a hostile society, but that's preferable to being steam-rolled.

Beautiful.

The Wiki entry on him is interesting.

"A female reporter who covered the Rizzo years, Andrea Mitchell (now of NBC News), recounted routinely brutish behavior at the force as part of a broad pattern of Rizzo bravado.[2]"

"Rizzo's relationship with Philadelphia's African-American community was volatile, with the PPD's reputation suffering among African-Americans. During Rizzo's tenure as division captain and commissioner, critics often charged that he was racially motivated, targeting activities in African-American neighborhoods. But his looming presence during the Columbia Avenue riots in 1968 is credited by many for limiting looting and violence."

173 "You should see what school systems are going through trying to deal

Flashback: Obama's initial huge wave of bringing in tens of thousands of Guatemalans and El Salvadorans -- you know, the ones who Glenn Beck and Ted Cruz met at the border with teddy bears and soccer balls.

There was a woman interviewed who was a citizen, not a career pol or educrat, and who was serving on her local school board up in a Northeastern liberal fever swamp. They had just met to size up the impact on their budget of the large bolus of Central American "children" (for some values of "child", cough) about to be dropped in their district.

She, good little suburban NE liberal that she was, was in tears after hearing the assessment of consequences. It meant the complete destruction of arts, music and advanced placement programs. It was going to cause massive classroom overcrowding. Their best teachers had already started to circulate resumes elsewhere.

So, *some* people get it and are talking about it. SOME people.

Around here, I point out that at our per pupil spending rate, a mere seven new illegal kids enrolled in a local school blows a $100,000.00 hole in the bottom of the annual budget boat. People stare at me as though I'm from Mars when I say things like that. They have not the faintest idea.

190 OT. The Tim Tebow baseball tryout is not going very well. (Shocking I know. He ran a 6.6 to 6.8 60 which graded to a 50 the major league average. His arm strength graded 35-40, below the major league average. The grades are 20-80.

Tebow bulked up to 260 of pure muscle from 230. There is no way in hell he can maintain that size and strength during the daily 8month grind that is baseball.

I am a Tebow the human being huge fan. I'm not a fan of the attitude of other athletes shutting on baseball like it is so easy. It is insulting. Furthermore, he is a jerkface for not playing QB in the CFL or Arena League.
