The latest Monmouth poll has hillary sliding down even further from her
13+ point lead a few weeks ago. She is now only 7 ahead of Trump in the
latest one. She has lost nearly half of her lead without Trump spending a
cent on ad buys.

She is losing ground in almost every National

31 Clinton spin on Foundation corruption is (1) "smoke, but no fire" because selling access is OK, and no Hillary decision as Madame Secretary was affected, and (2) the Foundation did God's work.

#1 is false. This was not just domestic pay for play. There are several statutes that prohibit our officials (and their relatives) from getting anything from anyone foreign, period. It's even in our Constitution. No need to prove quid pro quo, just prove quid. And Madame Secretary's decisions were affected. And Bill got speaking fees paid to him directly. So there is quid pro quo anyway.

#2 The Foundation has had a horrible payout ratio. Yes it bought some AIDS and malaria drugs for the Third World. But most of the money went to warehouse Friends of Bill and Hillary to pre-game her campaign and support an administration-in-waiting.

58 It has been learned by DNM that the Clinton Foundation has received $100,000 in donations from German-American businessman Donald Trump. Mr. Trump, who is a speculator in Manhattan real estate and who also ran a popular TV show, has been connected to a number of racist alt-right hate groups in the United States. Mr. Trump has been denounced by many leading American politicians including Democrats and Republicans because of his racism and bigotry. It has not been confirmed if the Clinton Foundation has returned the donations from Mr. Trump once they learned of his unsavory connections and past.

There isn't a chance that Hillary is going to "cut all ties" before the election (or after for that matter). She didn't go through all of this grief with Bill, etc. to lose the ability to rake in millions of dollars and fund her lifestyle because some stupid papers are calling on her to divest from it.

She and Bill and Chelsea would have to completely remove themselves from all association with it, including whatever salaries they are getting paid from it, and from the offices and homes that they live in that the Foundation likely owns and maintains.

Not a chance.

Because an 'investment' in Clinton influence can pay massive dividends with all kinds of government and NGO entities.

I'm almost sorry I didn't peel off $250K from the retirement fund and throw it at the Clintons a few years ago. But there are many Ds who will never pull the lever for an R who will stay home, or vote for Jill Stein.

Is will care, and will either vote Trump, stay home, or vote for Johnson or Stein.

----------

For hundreds of years, charities focused on fighting childhood hunger. We have now reached a point in society where charities are focused on fighting childhood obesity (some actual do and some purport to do).

That in an of itself is a rather striking statement that says quite a bit about our modern times.

We sometimes have a hard time understanding it, because at that level, currency isn't the currency. There is no money to be exchanged, because money isn't how things are worked out.

Likewise, Clinton Foundation is no more a separate entity than the blood that flows through their veins is separate. Nor is there any practical difference between media conglomerates, and corporations, and political Parties/personnel.

Our very understanding of how all of this works helps obscure how they are accumulating power into one tight little ball.

What there "charity" consist of is giving grants to their friends. As someone mentioned, Energizer Bunny gal was co-leader of some green energy org that received a grant. IIRC, it wasn't any different that Solyndra - all happy talk, no results.

The worst by far was Haiti. The UN appointed Bill to head up the relief/rebuilding effort, so he was in charge of deciding how the UN funds/donations were spent. He gave contracts to his friends instead of charities/NGOs that had a track record and superior abilities in providing disaster relief. Just criminal what he did to Haiti, or really, all that he didn't do for Haiti despite having the money and power to accomplish.

As an aside, we make fun of the seeming sham of the Clinton's marriage but the truth is neither Bill nor Hillary would've accomplished much of anything without the other. Separately, individually, Bill and Hillary arenothing. Together, they're a ruthless, nearly unstoppable team.

172 With the severe spread of active diseases and ticks in hospitals caused by the EPA banning insecticides and antibiotics a hospital is the worst place to be treated anymore.

173 This is what I don't understand. I remember back in the day, Toomey was touted as the conservatives' dream candidate against "Snarlin'" Arlen Specter. And now he's, what, some soft RINO? WTH happened, did we just totally misread him?

Posted by: OregonMuse at August 30, 2016 12:01 PM (I9W/6)

I'm not sure what happened. Tough race? RINO POS? Either way, I'm not voting for him.

It is very tempting to offer up some very un-Christ like prayers.

177 Separately, individually, Bill and Hillary arenothing. Together, they're a ruthless, nearly unstoppable team.

----------

Very true. But it is one reason why I think Hillary is going to lose. Hillary is not a front-man - that was Bill. She is a behind the scenes hatchet-man. The team doesn't always work when you switch positions.

178 I happened to just be in a deli which had CNN (Clinton Network News) on. Some campaign spokeswoman was explaining that Hillary did nothing wrong with e-mail, blah, blah, blah. She was smiling the whole time. I was mocking the smiles and "Gosh; It's nothing" bs. I can mimic people pretty well if I try. My teen was embarrassed and finally said "Just shut up, mom, please."

Hilary will sell out any country including the US as long as she gets her power and money She's a rapacious traitor, but lets elect her because" lady parts: Yay!!! :^(

179 Seriously, Bill's Energizer got a grant.

There may be a lot more payoffs through grants, if someone bothered to look. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of super-delegates got bought off early.
Posted by: Ignoramus at August 30, 2016 11:39 AM (r1fLd)

If you go to their website, you will see statements that the foundation does all the charity work themselves. They actually say they DON"T give grants to other charities. They also say they give 87% of all donations to perform their charity work.

Ok....

On the donor page of their website, it lists their charity projects and what your donation can do to further that project. Notice I said "can". Nothing says or demonstrates that it has or will do anything.

$1,000 will provide ten nurseries with seedlings to grow 20,000 trees in Africa.

$5,000 will provide literacy and financial literacy training for 100 female artisans in Haiti

My favorite: $10,000 will provide 450 tote bags filled with early literary materials and resources to families in underserved communities to improve their children's brain and language development.

$50,000 can proved an ambulance to remote health clinics in Africa, including maitanence and repairs.

Just a few of the exciting opportunities your money will go toward......

180 If unemployment is under 5% why do we need Hillary's massive jobs program?

That is the problem with Democrats being congenital liars; pretty soon the lies start contradicting each other.

181 Is it possible that there is simply less need to go to hospitals now because you can recover at home, so those that do are in dire shape?

I suspect the best doctors from South America end up in the US. Is that a factor?

I'm sure some of the above are factors. Esp. the doc-drain. In reality, socialism has pretty much destroyed the economy. More importantly, I think, is socialism has zapped peoples will. Everyone she was in contact with down there was unmotivated and, at best, morally ambiguous.

182 Toomey could just run milquetoast and be fine, but running all gun control hurts him in Pennsyltucky. The only reason I can see for this is he believes in gun control, and maybe one of the school shootings changed his mind on the issue?

I don't know what's in his heart, but I know how he votes.

186 Well, they do seem to be angling for a war against Russia, of all damnably foolish things.

Posted by: Bigbys Olive Fingers

They think it will solve unemployment.

Posted by: Bernette

A lot of idiots on the Left think of WWII as a "Good War" that created economic growth here. What they fail to take into account is that it happened because nearly every other economy on Earth worth speaking of was laid waste by it.

A war with Russia now would devastate exactly one economy: Ours. Because we are defenseless against cyber-warfare to a degree which is in turns hilarious and tragic.

191 138, The Maronites in Lebanon, led by ex-general Michael Aoun, are allied with Hezbollah. Yep, that's right. They are also allied with Assad, who at least protects Christians.

It's complicated over there, but the fact that Maronites, Alawites (Assad) and Shiite (Iranians) are all minorities within a Sunni-dominated area may explain it.

ace,

Here's an angle worth pursuing:

Huma has ditched her pervy hubby for sexting out pics of his shirtless torso and bulging boxers.

But when is Hillary going to ditch her serially-cheating, sexual assailant of a "husband"?

Love to see her try to square that fuckin' circle.

193 66 Did we also catch the delicious (haven't had time to look for Vic's links) story of the EU trying to grab the money that Apple tried to hide from the US taxman with their Irish tax dodge?

Remember, Ireland's only part of it, these IP-licensing deals bounce back and forth between a few subsidiaries, they ARE NOT but SHOULD BE Tim-Cook-Report-To-Federal-Prison illegal, yes US corp tax rates are, like the rent, too damn high, but it's Apple so I'm rooting for the EU.

Disclaimer: my only investment in this situation is in popcorn.
Posted by: JEM at August 30, 2016 11:22 AM (o+SC1)

My modest proposal: you can dodge taxes or offshore manufacturing, choose one. I am a liberal, so I worry a lot about the ecological effects of the huge barges crossing the Pacific Ocean carrying all the things that used to be made here. I remember reports that the search for the Malaysian airliner debris was hampered by so many shipping containers floating around out there that fall off the barges, and they burn high polluting fuel.
