My large, male (but neutered) cat Dexter always is near me whenever I am at home.
One day I am in the garage, tidying up. Dexter is lying down on a tool box.

In come these 2 little dogs, small chihuahua types. Tearing around like mad, sniffing, barking. You get the idea.

He takes out one dog with one paw and the other with the other, howling like a banshee, swear to god, never heard him sound like this ever or since, and out the 2 dogs go, tail between the legs, yelping for mercy.
Dexter meowed something that resembled "and STAY out!" and came back inside.

Try not to stress out over something that may not ever be a problem. Mixed race children are extremely common now, and plenty of them don't become resentful of their white relatives.

In 1900, photographs were in black and white. What about people in 1800 and before? Paintings were always in color.

My kids just graduated from public schools and that's not true. They attended schools in several states and never had radical teachers. Just make sure the kids go to the highest ranked district in their town and they will be fine. Use greatschools.com for school rankings and reviews.

I do recommend that you volunteer in your grandkids' classrooms as much as possible. Class sizes are too big in many places, and teachers love having another adult to help and to just talk to, and you will have a blast doing it too. The kids would swarm my husband any time he could be there, probably because so many teachers are women.

We know some college football players and coaches at a few schools. The Kaepernick stunt isn't popular at all, and it doesn't help that he sucks and looks like a pouty baby in the pictures. Some of the kids are tweeting, and not one has been complimentary. Don't knock it unless you have tried it. Everybody likes pie alamode, right? With ice cream, a dairy product. Cheese is a dairy product, too. And the "sharpness" of aged Cheddar complements very nicely the sweetness of the heavily-sugared apple pie filling. The cheese makes the apple taste sweeter, and the apple makes the cheese taste more sharp.
Try it some time. Use real "old" or "sharp" cheddar cheese. Process cheese will. not. do. And if by chance, you don't like it, the remainder of the brick of cheese will make some awesome grilled-cheese sammiches.

Yeah, it's a shame. I would love to have one of those DNA analyses but I don't trust any of those companies as far as I could throw them. Ancestry.com claims that you can delete your tests ... but then there is wording in their privacy statement about court orders and being able to produce those results later ... Fuckers.
I might be into getting a PO box and throw away email and having a test done. I'm not sure why those companies would need any personal information, at all, to run the tests. In fact, they don't need shit. Then again, getting PO boxes or throw away email accounts often require stupid shit like cell phone numbers and the like.
They just can't let anything be simple.

Pancreatic being especially rough. Given the low survival rate. But also, the last three or so cases of the stuff where I've personally known the patient or a family member of theirs, there have been brief false remissions, long enough to let people get their hopes up before cruelly dashing them again.
Is that a sign of progress on the clinical side? Could these short interludes of improvement be lengthened bit by bit and perhaps turned into genuine remission? Dunno yet.

When I got out of the Army we moved from Ft. Bragg to Los Angeles, my home town. Our son went to K-12 here in public schools. He never had problems due to race except from some asians. We know for a fact that some Korean mothers did not want their kids to be friends with him.
Our son was involved in athletics and most of his friends came from the basketball circuit. Not a lot of Asians, but a cross section of who plays fairly high level basketball. One thing you should know; in SouCal an Asian White mix isn't that uncommon.
He currently attends K-State. There he is kind of exotic but this really hasn't been a problem for him. (He told me that he almost got into a bar fight with a drunk who hassled him for being a "damn Mexican"). People there accept or reject him for what he is, not his parentage. That is also who he picks his friends, as we taught him growing up. The racial categorizing, the hate whitey embrace your other side, all that bullshit, he ignores. We aren't worried about him being turned by a girl, as Kaepernick apparently was, as he hates bossy women so the sjw's don't stand a chance with him.

I had one event of multiple false awakenings in my early twenties that was beyond description. I dreamed I was a businessman in a hotel on some kind of trip, and woke up, only the room I woke up into wasn't exactly like mine, a lot of things were off. I then woke up in the hotel again, then in another not-right version of my room, and kept repeating what must have been a dozen times. When I finally woke up in my real room, I was in such a blind panic that I got up straight away and got crazy-active to make sure I wouldn't drop off back to sleep, for fear that I'd wake up again in some other weird place.
I still wonder if, at some point, I didn't accidentally slip into an alternate reality where everybody's insane. Because hey, just look at the world as it is right now.

A few years ago, I was in Salt Lake City with friends visiting from Italy. One was a woman who came from a tiny village in the North where almost no one ever left and they had a solid idea of their ancestry. When we visited the Mormon Library, she was highly suspicious of the entire works and kept asking why they had to have all this ancestral info. She found it creepy. Another friend was from the very South of Italy and he was disappointed that there were few records of his family, but when he checked on some of his German wife's relatives , there was a wealth of records. When we asked why there were so many documents for the Germans and so few for the Italians, our kindly docent explained that after World War II, the Mormons were able to acquire a lot of genealogical records from...the Nazis.

Places would sell the something at a low price and that price would be rock steady for a week or until they sold out.
Now it might go up that very day if it proves popular.

Interestingly, he will be able to graduate with a degree in Women's Studies! He is an Accounting/Finance double major, but over time he took a butt load of WS courses. He told me that they were easy A's and he found the sjw's hilarious, especially when they turned on him. He said he literally laughed out loud in their faces.

It's also cool in that there are varieties with all-green leaves, leaves that are green on the edges and white in the middle, and leaves that are white on the edges and green in the middle. It's fun to have all three going near each other.

I met my genealogical Grandfather once. He was in a tiny house, drinking beer when I was about ten years old.
He had sent my Mother a letter, asking how she was doing and offered her some money... (odd, because it was obvious that he didn't have any).
I found this out when I had to apply for a replacement birth certificate and had to know my Mother's maiden name.
(I was a wild-child in my early twenties and I had lost my license for DUI, Reckless Operation, Speeding, etc.)
He was an obviously lapsed Jew. His Mother had emigrated from Slovakia.
My Father's parents were both German and changed their name when they emigrated from Munich before the United States entered the War.
I never learned any Yiddish, but I learned some German as a youth.
So... saying that I'm "half German, half Jewish" isn't actually the case. I'm half German, 1/8 Jewish Slovak.
...but All-American.

Did take the "Advanced Placement Test" I think it was for 3 college courses. 2 @ US history and one in "Sociology". Well even back then at 17 I figured out Sociology was just BS.
Bought a book, skimmed it and got 3 hours college credit for the Sociology. Knew the history and got those 6 hours easy.
Point is "Sociology" was just BS back then, sure it's worse today.

Mostly good. My Father is not well, but he's a tough-ass guy. He's losing it a bit, mentally, which worries me.
He had an artery "routered" in June and may need another in October. I've been doing his yard work, (for the most-part), since then. He's stubborn and loves his riding mower.
I go over there and grill some fish and chicken for his diet once a week. He loves it when I cook and I love to do it.

Heh. Reminds me of when I worked in the lumber mill in the early *mumble*. Was on swing shift. Would hit the bar at 1am and cash our checks, order a basket of fresh shrimp and a beer, then a six pack to go. That was BC. (Before children.)
Oh, and grandson is dying to show me his new Jr ROTC belt buckle when they come over for breakfast. (from what I hear)
